IT’S UP TO YOU

As Adam tore through the box of Kathy’s things, throwing items to the floor in frustration, the Certificate of Adoption went unnoticed in a stack of papers. J.R. came in, and Adam told him he was going to work things out.” He identified with his pain of losing Little Adam, because he’d just lost his own son, too. J.R. reminded him that he didn’t lose him, he disowned him and tried to replace him! Adam insisted he wanted to save what was left of his family; J.R. said if he was so interested in getting this family back together, he would never have walked out on Krystal when she was in labor! He stepped right over her, and then he ran Jamie off the road! Adam insisted he had nothing to do with that. He reminded him of Tad’s and Jamie’s feelings changing toward J.R., but insisted they were blood and that was a bond you can’t break. So, they could live in this house as enemies, or they could try to be a father and son again, “It’s up to you.”

He wanted the company back, and for J.R. to convince Colby to return home. Then, he would try very hard to let go of his anger and try to trust him again. J.R. called that a great pitch. Did he really think he’d fall for it? Adam insisted he was trying to offer an olive branch, but J.R. asked if he knew what he could do with it? Adam hoped he remembered that the next time he found himself in pieces on the street. He wouldn’t be there to scrape up what’s left. J.R. laughed, “And I hope you have somebody that gives a damn next time you keel over and have a stroke.” When Adam said now Colby was his one and only priority, J.R. asked where he fit in? “You don’t,” Adam replied.

Amanda came in and told Adam he couldn’t just summon her like some servant! Adam said they had a deal, but Amanda protested he almost killed her and Jamie! Adam told her to say that again, take out the “almost”, and she’d get an idea of what she was dealing with.

I’LL MAKE IT LEGAL
Tad came into Krystal’s hospital room, ignoring her and going right to his daughter, “Hello, Gorgeous.” When Krystal said there was no way this could work that way, Tad didn’t want to fight with her today. He told her the results of the hearing, and said if he wasn’t there with Jenny, he’d be out there with a gun; Krystal agreed if Babe had died, she’d be on her way to the jailhouse with an ax. She said he’d been right about Adam all along; Tad told her she wasn’t the first woman Adam had suckered, and she wouldn’t be the last. Krystal said for so long, she regretted that this baby wasn’t Adam’s, and now she thanked God every day that he was Jenny’s daddy. She was sorry she kept it from him for so long, but promised to make it right. When she got out of there, she’d make it legal. He was the kind of father that every child deserved.

THE BRAIN POWER OF A POTTED PLANT
Zach went to see Alexander and complimented him on his brilliant performance. Alexander was silent as Zach noted that he wouldn’t be able to stand up, move around, show any interest in anything or speak, or he’d be made and wind up back in court. This was his prison, because he’d finally screwed up. The brain power of a potted plant…that’s how people were going to remember the great Alexander Cambias Sr. He wanted to give him something to think about when he’s staring up the wall with that stupid look on his face. What if he really was Raymond’s son? He gave the one thing he cared about in this world, Cambias Industries, to the bastard son of his wife’s lover. He left, and Alexander gripped the arms of the wheelchair tightly.

WHO IN THIS TOWN HASN’T?
At Fusion, Kendall was queasy and rushed to the bathroom; Annie followed. Kendall insisted she was fine, but Annie wondered if she hadn’t figured out yet that she was really hard to get rid of?

Ryan realized that Babe was suffering from survivor’s guilt, and assured her it wouldn’t be more fair if she had died instead of Erin or Simone or Dixie. When Babe protested that she had done terrible things, Ryan asked, “Who in this town hasn’t?” He was at her funeral. He saw her mother and her husband and her friends, and they were heartbroken. It was very clear to him that she had done a lot of good things. Babe thanked him; that was very sweet of him.

Annie told Kendall she’d been where she was now when Terry was a threat to her child and to others; her husband was free and she became a prisoner. She understood Kendall’s desire for justice. She shared something she’d never told anyone, that she’d prayed for Terry’s death. If Kendall wanted to be happy, fight for it! Zach arrived, and Kendall saw there was something different about him. He told her he’d gone to see his dad in jail to make sure he didn’t have any power over him. He didn’t even know when it happened, but finally he was in complete control. Zach and Ryan were surprised at the new understanding between Kendall and Annie, and wondered what happened in the ladies’ room. Ryan worried that Jonathan was so ticked at the court’s ruling that he might lose control.

I’M NOT INTERESTED IN GAMES, OR THE PEOPLE WHO PLAY THEM
Josh saw how upset Hannah was when she came back to the office; he suggested they get out of there, play a game of hoops, but Hannah wasn’t interested in games, or the people who played them. When Josh said he understood how she felt, Hannah told him not to flatter himself—he couldn’t possibly understand how she felt! Haunted by the hell Alexander had put her through, she went to ConFusion for a drink.

THE CAREY WOMEN
Babe was surprised when Krystal said Colby was going to live with them, but agreed it would be great. She and Krystal officially made Colby a Carey woman; they linked pinkies and recited their motto, “We deserve the best, and together we can always get it.”

HERE’S TO MY BEAUTIFUL LITTLE JENNY
At ConFusion, Tad and Derek toasted to his new baby, his beautiful little Jenny.

GLOVED HANDS
We saw gloved hands taking a high-powered rifle from a case—it was Del!

A CONTINENTAL SHIFT
Kendall walked in on what she thought was Bianca and Zoe saying goodbye, and was taken aback to learn they were saying hello…to their new lives in Paris and London, just a channel away. Binks told her sister that’s what she got for acting like their mom! She asked for Kendall’s help, afraid that Erica was going to trash Zoe on national television. Kendall thought she was being paranoid, but Bianca worried that Erica would corner Zoe with the sensational, salacious questions that made her look like some kind of a bizarre joke. That wasn’t an interview, it was an inquisition! Kendall shrugged that Zoe was an adult and doing the interview by choice; she left Bianca feeling that the host, her mother, was zeroing in on her target, Zoe. Bianca didn’t understand her putting herself out there hoping for a train wreck, but Zoe explained she was doing it for anyone who thought that different wasn’t normal, “I’m doing this because I wish that Freddie Luper had turned on the TV years ago in Elkhart, Indiana, and seen that someone was there to tell him he was not alone.” Bianca again convinced Zoe that there was no pressure, no commitment or anything, just a lot of hope, and they shared a hug before Erica came to take Zoe to wardrobe.

HOW CAN YOU NOT WANT REVENGE?
Hannah couldn’t understand why Zach was okay with the man who ruined their lives beating a murder rap, or how he could move on with his life without wanting revenge. Zach insisted that every minute of every day of the rest of his life, the great Alexander Cambias Senior was going to have to pretend that he was lost in some other world while thinking of how he wasted his pathetic little life. He wouldn’t let Alexander take anything more from him, especially with the future of his family to look forward to. Hannah didn’t take the news that Zach and Kendall were expecting a baby very well; she went to her office and cried as she wondered what happened to her second chances, her family and baby. When she swept everything from her desk in a fit of rage, Josh came in and reached out to her. Hannah responded by telling Mr. Madden if he ever mentioned her personal life again, she’d fire him on the spot.

Kendall showed up to tease Zach about the ruse he and Bianca had pulled on her about Bianca’s return to Paris, but couldn’t stay mad at him for long. (Who could?)

ADAM CHANDLER COULD
As Jamie said this hospital had good security and no one could just walk out with a baby, Tad insisted that Adam Chandler could.

Stuart came by to see Krystal and meet Jenny, and was disturbed when Krystal asked him to give Adam the message to stay away from her baby. Stuart explained how his brother got mean when he was hurt, and she had hurt him very badly. Stuart left the room, stopping in the hallway as he sighed, “Oh, boy.” Krystal told Babe she’d had about all the fun she could take, and sent her to see what the holdup was.

A temp nurse remembered seeing two people by the nursery, one a man with white hair, and the other a middle-aged woman with light brown hair, but both had been wearing masks. Although certain it was Adam, Tad also had to entertain the idea that it could have been Janet or a perfect stranger who had taken his daughter. Babe was distraught to learn that Jenny had been stolen, but agreed to stall her mama while Tad, Jamie and J.R. went to the Chandler attic room, where Tad was certain Adam was keeping the baby.

I UNDERSTAND WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A MOTHER
Janet was rocking the baby when Adam came into the secret room; she said he’d handed her this baby and then he took off. Was this Krystal’s baby? Did he steal her? She would not be party to stealing a child, even though there was a time when she had. Adam insisted he’d done it in the best interest of the child. Motherhood was the most difficult job in the world, and also the most important. If a woman was unworthy, thinking only of her own interests and desires, then somebody needed to step in. When he saw that beautiful little face, some sort of a primal instinct kicked in, and he thought, “Save this child!” He had no plan, he just knew he was going to have to find somebody he could trust to raise this child. And who was the best mother he knew? It brought him straight to her. He gently touches her cheek and asks, “Janet, will you help me?” After convincing Janet that he wanted to start a new life and raise the baby girl together, Janet agreed she was all his.

WHERE’S MY LITTLE GIRL?
Babe tried her best to keep the news from her mama, but Krystal could tell something was wrong and wanted to see her baby. Stopped at the nursery by guards, Krystal turned to Joe and asked where her little girl was? She was stunned to learn that her little Jenny was gone.

PERFECT!
Tad, Jamie and J.R. broke down the attic door to find it empty, with no evidence a baby had been there. They hurried off to check the tunnels.

In his study, Adam made a call and asked if there was any word? The man told him there was good news; he found the ideal couple. They understood this placement was no questions asked. All they wanted was a baby. Adam called that perfect. As he ended his call, Tad, Jamie and J.R. came in through the tunnels. Tad grabbed Adam by the lapels and vowed, “You give me my daughter or I swear to God I’ll kill you!”

NEW BEGINNINGS
As Erica prepared to go on stage for an interview being called bigger than Britney Spears’ would be, Bianca supported a somewhat nervous Zoe, and told her she didn’t have to do the show. Zoe insisted she couldn’t back out now as Erica was announced and took the stage to thunderous applause.

Erica told the audience they were about to share in a new beginning unlike any other, Zoe, formerly known and worshipped as Zarf. They’d heard the rumors and innuendos, as this rock star falsely accused of a series of murders was outed as a transgender person, “Please try to set aside your assumptions and your prejudices as we hear her own story in her own words. Please welcome the extremely talented and controversial Zoe!” Bianca took her seat in the front row as Zoe waved at the enthusiastic crowd.

When Erica questioned Zoe about her journey, Zoe credited Bianca with giving her the courage to matter, not only to herself, but to many other people who may not have even found their voices yet, “I am eternally in her debt.” She deftly answered questions from the audience, and all were taken aback when a woman grabbed the microphone and demanded of Erica, “What’s wrong with you, letting this freaking pervert smear your show with filth?” Erica vigorously defended Zoe, speaking from her own experience with her daughter and saying Zoe was putting herself out there because she was trying to give hope. That’s why she created this show to begin with, “Thank you, Zoe. Thank you so much for reminding me of that.” Zoe embraced her as the audience cheered.

Erica announced, “Ladies and gentlemen, a voice that transcends gender, preconceptions, and prejudice – Zoe.” Zoe rocked the house with a song about the girl inside taking control, “I’m never gonna hide the me inside.”

After the show, Bianca watched Leon as he told Erica she had to admit—it could have worked if she had gone with it! Erica said not on her show, and fired her producer for that nasty little setup. Bianca reminded her mother she’d said that she’d never want to be anything like her, “I should be so lucky. Thank you, Mom.” She embraced her, and Erica smiled as she held her.

SOMEONE TOOK MY BABY?
Krystal was stunned to learn that someone took her baby, and immediately said Adam took her because he wanted her dead. She might never see Jenny again.

I SHOULD BE THANKING YOU
Tad accused Adam of taking his daughter, and demanded that he give her back! Despite being told they had an eyewitness, Adam denied it. Tad begged him, if he did this, it was to torture Krystal, to make her pay for what she did. Well, mission accomplished. Please, just tell them where Jenny was. Adam suggested they search the house—knock themselves out! As Tad left with Jamie, Adam told J.R to just go—they both knew what family he belonged to now! J.R. said no, he knew who Adam was now, “Yeah. I’m Tad and Jamie’s family now.”

Adam made a call to Janet, who said the baby was so beautiful! How could she ever thank him for this wonderful bundle of perfect? Adam thought he was the one who should be thanking her.

BECAUSE ADAM TOOK MY BABY
Tad returned to the hospital and pleaded with Derek to step up the search for his daughter before going to see Krystal. An officer brought Derek the I.D. anklet that Jenny had been wearing, found in an elevator. Derek shook his head as he told J.R., “If somebody walked out with my baby girl because some fools were too cheap to pay the staff".

When Amanda learned Jenny had been stolen, she asked Babe if her mom did this, too? Babe tearfully told her they thought it was Adam. As Krystal and Tad argued, Babe insisted she couldn’t let her mama fall apart. Jeff wanted to sedate Krystal, who fought it all the way. Babe convinced her she was no use to Jenny like this; Jeff stuck a needle in her arm. Amanda watched with tears in her eyes as Krystal cried that Adam took her baby.

WHAT WOULD LOTTIE SAY IF SHE KNEW?
As Adam checked his watch, Stuart came in and said somebody took Krystal’s little baby, Jenny. Adam sat at the chess board as he asked who would want the love child of a trashy tramp and a sanctimonious Martin? He gestured at the board, “You want to play?” He was taken aback when Stuart angrily swept the pieces to the floor as he demanded, “If you know where that baby is, I want you to bring her back now, and I'm not playing.” This was evil; if he didn’t fix it, he couldn’t help him. What would Lottie say if she knew? She would hate what he was doing to that little girl, and he wasn’t going to let this happen!

IS THIS THE WAY IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE?
Amanda called Adam and asked where he and her mom took Krystal’s baby? He had to get the baby back from her mother! Adam warned Amanda that the pressure must be too much for her, not knowing if her mother was alive or how long she’d stay that way…

As J.R. told Babe he felt that Janet did this, Jamie came up and blamed him for what had happened—the board put a dollar amount on people's lives and their health! When Amanda returned, Jamie could tell she knew more than she was telling him.

Tad asked Joe, “Is this the way it's supposed to be, Pop? First Kate, now Jenny? It seems like every time I find out about a daughter, I lose her, forever.”

YOU AND ME AND DADDY MAKES THREE
As Adam finalized his plan to sell Jenny on the black market, Janet called to say their little girl was a genius! Adam ended the call when Colby came in; he asked if his deserting daughter came to drive the knife in deeper? Colby claimed she’d realized she was wrong to leave him, and was home to stay if he’d take her back. Adam was overjoyed until she asked, “So, can you give Krystal back her baby?”

As a couple looked at a picture of Jenny, the woman said she was so beautiful! The man agreed, “And she’s all ours.”

Janet held Jenny and sang to her, “You and me and Daddy makes three. Daddy's going to be home soon so he can be with us.”

A PROPER SENDOFF
Erica planned a surprise going away party for Bianca and Zoe at the yacht club; when Bianca said she didn’t have to do it, Erica asked if she thought her family was going to let her move 3,000 miles away and not give her a proper sendoff? She turned to Zoe and said she had made such an amazing impression on everyone; they really wanted to wish her well.

Erica and Jack shared a moment of agreement on how good it was to have the whole family together; it was like old times. Erica was called away by the chef, and Josh took the opportunity to tell Jack that Erica and Jeff were officially over—Erica had kicked him to the curb!

Zoe told Zach he looked like a different man, and Zach admitted a weight had been lifted. When Zoe wondered if this meant he’d shaken off his father’s shadow, Zach said his father wasn’t large enough to throw a shadow on anyone anymore.“I wish I could say the same for mine,” Zoe sighed.

As toasts were proposed to Bianca and Zoe, Greenlee watched from behind some shrubs and fondly remembered moments with Jack, Erica and Kendall.

Bianca and Kendall wondered about Ava; Lily told them she’d asked Ava to come tonight, but she’d said she was too tired.

WHERE IS SHE?
Jamie and J.R. were certain that Amanda knew where her mother and the baby were. Tad pleaded with her to tell them if she knew something, or he might never see his daughter again. Amanda admitted she’d seen her mother once after Adam busted her out of the mental hospital, but she’d been blindfolded and didn’t know where Adam had taken her. Babe asked why she didn’t tell anyone? Amanda explained that Adam threatened her mother; he’d been trying to get her to get something he could use against Tad or Jamie. She’d been stalling him, but… Tad demanded, “Amanda, are you telling me that Adam stashed my child with a mental patient?”

Krystal had nightmares about Adam, first saying he accepted their baby, Charlotte, and then that she didn’t deserve to be a mother and would never see her baby again.

I WANT TO FORGIVE YOU
Colby pleaded with Adam to return the baby—they could fix this! If he gave the baby back, she’d move back in with him and they could start over. She wanted to forgive him—please just give the baby back! Adam said he would give her almost anything in the world, but this time he couldn’t give her what she wanted. “You mean you won’t,” Colby replied before walking out. Alone, Adam had a drink as he stared out the window.

I WILL HELP MYSELF
Ava went to the “New Beginnings” studio, where one of the stagehands recognized her as Lily. Ava said that that Erica was supposed to leave her some stuff. Could she check around, please? He said sure, help herself. He left the area, and Ava spotted some jewelry lying around. She picked it up as she repeated, “Thank you so much. I will help myself.” Later, she sat on the stage and pretended she was a star being interviewed by Erica Kane. After speaking of her fame, she blew a kiss to the imaginary audience and left the set. YOU HANG ON TO THIS!

Myrtle told Erica that Mona was so proud of her today, and she was happy that she and Jack were making progress. Reminding her that Jack was the love of her life, she told her, “You hang on to this.”

JUST KEEP ON DANCING
Ryan arranged for a private dance lesson with Louis van Amstel of “Dancing With the Stars” as a surprise for his bride-to be so they could practice for their wedding. Annie was thrilled, and couldn’t wait to get started. Louis proclaimed that they were both naturals, and smiled as he called the rumba the most sensual dance of all.

YOU’LL NEVER BE THE SAME
As Amanda told Tad she was sorry she didn’t know more and should have said something before, Colby returned and said she might know where Janet and the baby were.

After he heard her talking to Adam and demanding to talk to her mom, J.R. told Amanda, “Once my father gets ahold of your life, you’ll never be the same.”

Krystal got out of bed and went down the hall to the nursery, where she looked through the glass at the empty room. When Joe came up to her, Krystal asked if this was payback? Did she deserve to lose her child? Joe said of course she didn’t, and Krystal asked if he hated her for lying? Joe smiled kindly as he asked how he could do that? She brought his granddaughter into the world. They were going to find Jenny and then they were going to raise her and love her, “Because you’re part of my family now.”

ALL I NEED, YOU AND ME
Jack, Kendall and Josh toasted Kendall, and Greenlee remembered the friendship she and Kendall had shared, how they’d needed only each other. Jamie and Tad rushed in and asked Jack where it was—the yacht he sold to Adam? Adam kidnapped Tad’s baby girl and Janet Dillon had her onboard. Learning that the yacht sailed this afternoon, Tad told Jamie to call Derek, and asked Jack how he could get in touch with the Coast Guard?

THE WORST HELL THAT A MOTHER CAN GO THROUGH
Bianca reached out to Krystal, saying she knew this was the worst hell that a mother could go through. Krystal tearfully agreed that she knew better than anyone, “Because I did it to you.” And now what goes around comes around. Didn’t she learn? She did it all over again, and now this was her punishment. She told Bianca she was so sorry! Bianca insisted she and Jenny deserved to be together, and they would be.

Zoe and Babe said goodbye; Babe said she had hope they were going to find Jenny, and she had faith in Tad.

At the yacht club, Tad was fitted with a bright orange jacket; Jamie zipped it up for him and hugged his dad.

NOBODY
Ryan and Annie danced in the moonlight, close in each other’s arms. Greenlee watched as they shared a kiss. She remembered Ryan telling her he loved her with all he had. She was all he would ever want or need, “Nobody will ever replace you, ever. Nobody.”

ALEX CAMBIAS WAS SHOT
After finding the picture and note Zach had received and learning from Hannah that Alexander had been shot, Kendall worried that Zach did it. Josh said there were a ton of people in this town with a grudge against Cambias. Zach wasn’t the only one. He looked at Hannah as he said, “Each and every one of them has motive to see that old man dead.” Hannah left the room to get Kendall some tea, and Kendall asked Josh how the hell they could ever get Alexander out of their lives if Zach was the one who gunned him down?

IS THE BASTARD DEAD?
Told to check the roof where the shot came from, the cops wondered by Derek would want to catch the guy who shot the cop-killer? Zach showed up and looked at his father bleeding on the pavement; he asked if the bastard was dead? Derek said it was a hell of a thing, watching a man bleed to death, knowing he deserved it, and it was his job to find the person who did this. Did he even want to know why he was there? Zach shrugged he was just making sure the transfer went off without a hitch. He knelt by his father and wondered how someone in his state put a complete sentence together to send that note? He’d find out who helped him. Derek wasn’t eager to call an ambulance, but Zach said it shouldn’t end like that. He wanted him to suffer, “Put him in prison for a long time.” Derek told Zach, “It'd be better if you headed out now. It'd be better if you were never here.” Zach told him not to go out on a limb for him, “You know I was here, I know I was here…and he knows I was here.”

A LOT MORE THAN GRIEF
Ryan called Tad to offer his assistance after seeing Erica’s appeal on TV. Tad hoped Janet would respond to Erica’s appeal to give herself up. Annie felt terrible for Tad and Krystal, able to relate to the fear of losing a child. Ryan insisted he had to believe they would find their little girl. When they learned that Alexander had been shot, Annie wondered if Jonathan could be responsible; she’d looked into his eyes and there was a lot more than grief.

TAKE THE BABY?
Amanda asked, “Hello, Mom? If it’s you, please answer me.” When she said she thought she heard her talking to someone, Babe told her to put it on speaker; they listened as Janet asked, “I’m sorry, what did you just say?” A man replied, “We’re here to take the baby.”

“Take the baby?” Janet repeated. The couple explained they were adopting the baby, and the husband told Janet their attorney finalized everything this afternoon. He put them in contact with a Mr. Prince, who was meeting them there. Janet insisted there had been some kind of a mix-up. As the couple cooed over the baby, Janet called Adam and left a message, “It’s Janet. Call me, call me, call me. There are a couple of ut-nays here who say that the aby-bay is theirs.”

THE LOVE OF MY LIFE
Krystal’s hands were steady as she held the gun on Adam and demanded that he hand over her baby; she fired a few shots to prove she meant business. Hadn’t he punished her enough? He’d been the love of her life!

SOMETHING ABOUT “WE’RE HERE TO TAKE THE BABY”
Tad was upset that Janet had called Amanda, but they hadn’t spoken. Amanda told him she heard a man say something about "we're here to take the baby," but she didn't hear anything else. Tad stormed out, and Babe told Jamie and J.R. she thought Krystal left to go find Jenny on her own. J.R. left with Babe to help her find Krystal.

Tad told Aidan to trace that call, “Janet's about to give my baby away to a couple of strangers.” Aidan narrowed it down to a two-mile radius outside of Pine Valley, and Amanda prayed, “Please, God, let us get there in time.”

THIS IS NOT GOOD
Arriving at the mansion to find the doorknob shot off and a shattered vase and decanter, Babe declared, “Oh, my god. This is not good.”

Colby found Krystal holding Adam at gunpoint in the tunnels, and begged her to put the gun down. She wasn’t going anywhere until it ended.

WHERE WERE YOU AT THE TIME OF THE SHOOTING?
The strike over, the nurses were back on duty when Alexander was brought into the hospital. Ryan arrived as Joe told Derek they were working on stabilizing Mr. Cambias so they could get him into surgery. It appeared the bullet was lodged in the spine. Ryan asked Derek who he had to thank? Derek said that remained to be seen, “Where have you been tonight?” Ryan told him he’d been making wedding plans with his fiancée at Wildwind, and Derek asked if he saw his brother while he was there? Ryan insisted he wouldn’t let him pin this on Jonathan, but Derek couldn’t rule out anyone with a motive. Ryan asked, “So if that's true, where were you at the time of the shooting?”

Someone disassembled the sniper rifle; we saw gloved hands putting it back in its case. He, or she, held a shell casing in one hand.

At Wildwind, as Annie picked up some of Emma’s toys, she was startled when Jonathan came in, wearing a sweatshirt with a hood pulled up over his head.

HOW DO YOU NOT WANT REVENGE?
When Zach returned, his eyes met Hannah’s as he recalled her words, “Alexander puts on a crazy act and gets away with everything. How do you not want revenge?”

LET’S GET YOU ALL PRETTY AND FRESH BEFORE YOU LEAVE HERE
The adoptive couple was uncomfortable with Janet’s behavior, but she said they’d make wonderful parents. Told that “Mr. Prince” was meeting them there, Janet said they didn’t have to wait for him. She pulled out a large knife as she declared she could put an end to this herself.

Janet cut and served coffeecake, saying it was an old family recipe. She picked Jenny up and told her, “Let's get you all pretty and fresh before you leave here.” She took the baby into the next room; Tad, Jamie and Amanda arrived to find the window open, “They’re gone.”

NO REASON TO LIVE
Colby told Adam if he wouldn’t give up where Jenny was, and Krystal was gearing up to kill her dad, she’d lose her family, “And I have no reason to live.” She stepped in front of Adam as J.R. and Babe came in and gaped at the scene before them.

YOUR SECRET IS SAFE WITH ME

Zach stood in the doorway and watched Hannah reach out to take Kendall’s hand in comfort. He recalled Hannah's words, “Alexander puts on a crazy act and gets away with everything. How do you not want revenge?” Zach wanted to talk to Kendall alone.

Seeing that Hannah’s mind isn’t on business, Josh said her secret was safe with him. If word got out that she wasn’t steel, hard-wired for business 24/7, Cambias stock might never recover.

Zach was disturbed that Kendall was confiding in Hannah, but insisted it was just because he should have been there to help her. Kendall worried about what effect the picture she’d received would have on Zach, but he insisted it couldn’t get to him. Kendall was relieved when he said he didn’t shoot his father.

Josh gave Hannah the bad news that Alex Senior was stable; at her look, he called her so brave—how could she hold it together like that? As Hannah noted he loved baiting her, Zach came out and asked Josh to take his wife home and stay with her. Hannah apologized to Zach for opening old wounds, all the stuff he needed to forget. Zach watched her for a long moment when she went back into her office. Later, he told her, for the record, he didn’t shoot his father. He didn’t want him to die like that; he wanted him to suffer for years to come.

EXCUSE ME WHILE I FREAK OUT JUST A LITTLE!
Ryan was disturbed to learn that Jonathan had called in sick for work, and hurried out of ConFusion.

At Wildwind, Annie was startled to see Jonathan, who claimed he had gone for a very long run and was playing hooky from work. When Jonathan said Alexander Cambias had been shot and was dead, she questioned how he knew that? He said he heard it on the radio, and went upstairs to take a shower.

Annie was upset when Emma found a rifle while she and Kathy were playing; she thought it was more than coincidence that it showed up on the same day Alexander Cambias was shot. Annie didn’t want to stay there that night, and went to pack some things so she, Emma and Kathy could spend the night at Ryan’s. Jonathan came in and found his brother with the rifle; he said Annie thought he shot Cambias—did he? Ryan believed he didn’t. Jonathan insisted they were all finally going to be happy, and was sure Erin was looking down on them from somewhere right now, and she was smiling.

DIFFERENT DESCRIPTIONS OF “ON THE UP-AND-UP”
Tad realized that Janet had stolen the couple’s rental car and taken off with Jenny. The man and woman insisted they thought this was on the up-and-up; learning they were to meet “Mr. Prince” there, Tad called their definition of on the up-and-up was a lot different than his. Derek arrived and wanted Tad to fill in the blanks; Tad left with Aidan, insisting his daughter needed him more. Derek seemed worried when the woman said Tad was furious with some man he said stole the baby, “He's out for that man's blood.”

YOU’RE KILLING ME
When J.R. tried to get the gun from Krystal, she screamed when it went off. Adam told Colby what she’d done, stepping between him and a gun, and she pleaded with him to stop this and let Jenny come home. Adam claimed he knew nothing about it; all were incredulous when Adam insisted he had to leave for a meeting. Tad came to the door and stopped him; he told them—he no longer had a meeting to go to. J.R. berated his father for stabbing his daughter in the heart after she proved she was willing to die for him—he didn’t deserve her! Krystal was horrified to hear that Janet had her baby, and slapped Adam across the face when he reached out to her with a show of remorse. Alone, Adam cried as he sat by the fire and looked at a framed picture of his family in happier days.

I COULD ALMOST PRETEND THAT SHE WAS LIKE ANY OTHER MOM
Amanda was upset when Jamie insisted she stay with him until her mother called so they could trace the call. She insisted she was trying to help, and recalled growing up with Janet, how she could almost pretend that she was like any other mom. She and Jamie blamed each other for what Adam had done. As Amanda worried about her mother, Jamie insisted she and the baby would be found, and both would be safe.

COME INSIDE
As Kendall and Josh played with Spike in the courtyard, Babe, Krystal, Colby and J.R. arrived to get settled in the condo. Seeing Krystal looking intently at Spike, Babe urged her mama to come inside, saying Little A and Winnie were waiting. Krystal knelt down and smiled at Spike; Kendall reached out and took her hand for just a moment.

When Zach came home, Krystal watched the happy family scene before closing the blinds.

WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?
In a wooded area, Janet held Jenny and asked. “What were they thinking, trying to separate us? Oh, no. They're not going to get away with that. They're going to regret it, aren't they? Oh, yes, they are. They’re going to regret it big time.”

THE GREEN BUTTERFLY

The green butterfly pin was on the desk beside her as Greenlee addressed a large envelope to Kendall Hart Slater at Fusion Cosmetics. She told a messenger, “I want this delivered right away.” She next addressed another envelope, “Mr. Ryan Lavery”.

A LITTLE PROBLEM
As they worked at ConFusion on layouts for new product packaging, Annie told Kendall she said they needed a cutting edge package for a cutting edge product—they had nothing, and were completely running out of time. Kendall thought all they needed was something that told people Fusion was back. She brought up the wedding shower, and Annie said there might be a little problem. She might need to take a person off the guest list, “Me.” She confided in her about Emma finding the gun at Wildwind, and her fears that Jonathan might have shot Alex Cambias. She loved Ryan and wanted a future with him, but couldn’t put her daughter at risk. Her gut had been telling her something was going on with Jonathan. She didn’t want to start her new life feeling so wary.

Kendall chalked it up to pre-wedding jitters, assuring her that Jonathan wasn’t the same man he’d been before he had the tumor removed. When she said she thought things would be different with Ryan this time, Annie repeated, “’This time’?” Kendall said back when Ryan and Greenlee were married, she freaked out about Jonathan, but Ryan wouldn’t listen to her. He defended Jonathan, always took his side, and it caused problems. She was freaking out about Jonathan, but Ryan listened to her. He moved them out of the house; he took her side. Ryan didn’t take Greenlee’s side until it was too late.

WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO?
Julia and Ryan arrived at Wildwind at the same time; she was furious about the gun in the house and insisted they find out whose it was, or she’d kick everybody out. When Ryan said to let him check it out, Julia asked if he was worried it belonged to his brother? Ryan insisted the gun did not belong to Jonathan, and he had nothing to do with Alex getting shot. Del came in and asked if there was a problem? He and Di exchanged glances when Ryan got the rifle down from a high shelf in a closet. Jonathan came in, and Julia asked what he knew about that gun? “And you better damn well tell me the truth.”

“Del, that's your gun,” Di whispered, “What the hell did you do?”

Jonathan told Julia he never saw that gun until last night, and was taken aback that Annie thought it was his gun and he’d used it to shoot Alex Cambias. He wasn’t going to screw up another of Ryan’s relationships! Ryan told Julia if she wanted to find the gun’s owner, he’d get the cops involved right now. He opened the door to leave as Del admitted to Di, “Okay, yes, yes. It is my gun, okay?” Julia was furious with Del, and wondered if he’d used the rifle to get justice? Di defended her brother, who agreed to get rid of the gun. She left for work, and Julia told Del there was one more thing, “I want your key.” Ryan and Jonathan thought that was too harsh, but Julia insisted she had no choice. Ryan was sorry that everybody came down on Jonathan first, and he hoped he didn’t hold that against Annie. Jonathan didn’t, and just wanted to forget this.

WE SHOULD GO TO THE MALL!
Ava wanted Sean to cut school to go shopping with her; he turned her down, saying he had to go to school and was broke. Ava lifted his wallet, and was disappointed to find he was telling the truth.

IT DOESN’T HAVE TO GET PERSONAL
Josh walked into Hannah’s office to find her changing clothes, zipping up her skirt and wearing only a bra on top. “Oops,” he noted.

Zach arrived, and Hannah talked to him about acquiring a company they’d discussed. Derek stopped by to tell Zach his father had stabilized enough to be transferred to the lockdown wing of the state psychiatric hospital. Hannah went into her office; Josh followed and said he knew she spent the night here. The clothing change was a dead giveaway. Sometimes they got so caught up in work that they forgot there was more—was she afraid of “more”? Told not to get personal, Josh said it didn’t have to get personal. He locked the door; Hannah grabbed his tie and pulled him into a passionate kiss that turned into vigorous sex. Declaring that coffee break was over, Hannah ordered Josh out of her office, “This never happened.” She tried to get back to work, but her mind was clearly elsewhere.

YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED
Annie felt terrible when Di arrived and told her the gun was Del’s—she’d completely freaked out and thought it was Jonathan’s! Kendall told her to just apologize and move on. She was getting married, and she didn’t want to hear another word about it! Kendall opened the envelope delivered by the messenger, and told the others that they might have a silent partner. She looked at an impressive layout and read the copy aloud, “Fusion Green: Pure, organic cosmetics, all natural products packaged in recycled materials. Sustainable cosmetics keeping you and the environment beautiful." Annie declared this was the idea they’d been looking for! Kendall agreed, this was very edgy, exactly what they were looking for in Fusion. She read the note attached to the layout, “Fusion goes green, Fusion banks more green than ever." Puzzled, she wondered, “Who in the hell sent this?”

Greenlee penned another note, “You are cordially invited."

JUST LIKE THAT?
As Del was leaving, Julia asked again if he’d shot Alexander. Del said he did not shoot Cambias. If he did, he'd be in the morgue, not the hospital. As he insisted his gun had nothing to do with the Cambias shooting, Aidan came in. He looked at the gun and told Julia Del was right, it wasn’t the gun. Julia asked, “What, just like that?” Aidan spoke to the police, “That model is not the gun that shot Cambias, all right?”

AT THE DOCKS
Down at the docks, Hannah took a disassembled gun from a large tote bag and threw the pieces, one by one, into the water. She picked up the bag to leave, and saw Zach watching her.
