I have found that I suck at Jungle Gin.

Don't give up hope, Poopy! The first time I tried to do Jungle Gin as one of my personal challenges I couldn't win a single game, let alone get gin. I ended up having to choose a different personal challenge. Jungle Gin was one of the challenges this week so I tried it again and I was able to get the badge! I did so well that I even chose Jungle Gin as one of personal challenges. I chose the same challenge I had to quit before and this time I got the badge. :grin: One thing I like about Pogo is if you can't win the badge for a current challenge, you can always make that game a personal challenge at a later date and get the badge then. One of these days I need to learn how to play backgammon so I can get the Doubling Cube badge I wasn't able to get before. It's the only 2005 badge I don't have.

I love Jungle Gin. I didn't get the checkers one because the boredom of the game wasn't worth the badge and I also passed on the Chess badge because it's dumb. I have 79 badges at this point and I joined October 10th. I *heart* Pogo too!!! By the way, I am Cleop607 over there.

How do the rest of you choose which personal challenges to do each week? I started off getting the badges for 2005 and I'm currently working on getting the 2004 badges. I choose a game that I like to play but I also choose the ones that have the prettiest badges, especially the smaller part that shows next to your name when you select a badge as your favorite. There are a lot of badges that the whole badge is neat but the smaller version isn't so neat looking. Before I went on vacation, I only had two days to get all of my badges for the week so I chose simple games like Squelchies and Sweet Tooth that I could get the badge in quickly and easily.

I decide based on what the assigned badges are for the week. If they're simple, quick badges then I'll go for something more challenging on my personal selection. Or I just scan through and pick a game that I like. I've actually chosen badges and got halfway through them, got sooooo bored with the game so quit and chose another one.

I think checkers was the most boring game I've ever played to get a badge. I didn't like Spades or Dominoes, though, either! Somebody helped me cheat to get the badge for Chess. They made one move and then forfitted the game and got me the badge that way. Lots of people were doing it so I didn't feel so bad about cheating. :oops: The rest of my badges were earned the honest way--with hard work, a lot of effort and a lot of time! :wink:

I played some more Jungle Gin last night and had a good time. I have 154 out of 1000 points. I best get my play on! Rufus, I am going to add you to my friends.

Have the two of you completed your badges this week? I was having trouble with Rainy Day Spider Solitaire, but I have the hang of it now. I like this whole badge thing b/c it forces you to try different games on a weekly basis. Pogo rocks!

I haven't finished my raindy day spider badge yet, but it's an easy game and I win every time so it's just a matter of playing a few more games.

I finished my last challenge last night so I have all my badges for this week.

w00t!! I got my jungle piranha badge!!! My first ever badge!!

Pika, I got to thinking about what you said about how people cheat to get certain badges, and it seems like you can do this with many of the games. I don't know what the point would be b/c it is all for fun anyway. I noticed that with Jungle Gin you automatically get a 100 point box score at the end of a 100 point match. If you play against a bot, you can throw each round of gin to the bot until the match is over and quickly get 100 points each time. I noticed this after I had about 500 points. I didn't try it because I was having a good time. It took me about 5 hours (last night and this afternoon) to get that badge.

On what day do Weekly challenges end and new ones begin?
