Why are people so up in arms about non-elimination legs all of a sudden? They've been a part of the game for a while now. What's the big deal?
I never had a problem with the non-elim rounds...just my hubby!
The non-elim rounds aren't going anywhere, they have been a part of TAR so like the saying goes, "If it broke, don't fix it!"
But... if it broke, and I don't fix it, then it's still broke!
LOL!!! I just went back and fixed it!

Re: Non-Elimination Legs A non-elimination round I can deal with...but I can't stand the begging. If there must be a penalty...find another. The begging is pathetic.
Instead of taking away their money, the racers who come in last should have to complete an additional Roadblock at the beginning of the leg.
Of course, the best solution is to just get rid of the non-elimination legs.

Or how about have the remaining teams vote on whether or not to let the last place team stay in the game?
Phil: "You're the last team to arrive, however, I'm happy to tell you that this is one of 3 predetermined non-elimination legs. Now, lets just get the other teams over here to see if they want you to stay in the game or not."

I don't like the begging either. I really hate it when they are in a country like India where they would have to find other tourists to help them out.
DiamondSmiles- 05-14-2005
Personally...I despise the begging. I get no thrill from con-*test*-('")ants begging from tourists or worse, from locals. (don't get me going on begging from your opponents)

I'm with you. I really don't like it.
You know what really bugged me with the whole begging thing? When they were in poor countries, people with next to nothing were still willing to help out. Then, back in the rich USA, people sat in their fancy cars and delivered lectures about "begging isn't the way", instead of parting with a few bucks. I don't know, it just made me feel "dirty"... and I'm not even American.

I like the non-elim rounds. They had an element of surprise to the game, and everyone is always guessing if this is a non-elim pit stop. I would never take them away. What happens when a team has had the best track record then makes one error in one leg and gets eliminated? The non elims make the race less strenuous for some teams who do make mistakes but are good overall racers.

I could really identify with Uchenna and Joyce. They knew they had to do it and they were trying to be polite and not pushy but they were obviously uncomfortable about begging for money, especially Joyce.

I agree, and I expect that TAR included the footage to draw that out, though I suspect that the ones who would lecture Uchenna an Joyce or any other players totally missed it.

Kinda like what happened to Rob & Amber in the final leg, eh?

They weren't eliminated though. They still won 250 grand. I'm talking about the legs before the finale.

Re: Prize Money Wow. Two hundred and fifty thousand dollars is a good prize for coming in second place. I didn't know it was that much.
Second place for Survivor is only $100,000.

I was surprised too to find out it was that much. But I guess a team that gets that far after racing around the world deserves it.
Ron and Kelly would have gotten $100 000 for third.

The show is good...let it alone
Brilliant! I agree! Worth repeating. Oh did I say that?
Seriously....the show is great, why go messing with things? You know when you mess with things that dont need messing with, they always end up ruined. Get your fingers off of it! If you want to talk about a show that needs fixed, lets talk about American Idol. But not here...

Is that joke getting old yet?
