Tuesday, December 12, 2006IT’S ALL THERE
Josh checked for a pulse, and realized Erin was dead. He closed her eyes and sighed as he called police headquarters, “I need to report a murder.” He reached Chief Frye, and told him there’s no way this was another accident, either. It’s all there, the ribbon, the flowers, “It’s exactly what they did to Simone.”
BABE IS DEAD
Back in J.R.’s room, Babe said she didn’t expect him to forgive and forget overnight, but couldn’t he just leave his mind open to the possibility that someday he may look at her and feel the way that he felt back then? Adam came in and asked J.R. if she was upsetting him? Say the word and she’s gone. When J.R. said she can stay, Adam nodded and left. Babe said she loved him and hadn’t given up on their marriage, “Please don’t you.”
Adam told Krystal he got J.R. to admit, or at least not deny, that the terrible anger he felt toward Babe was the result of a broken heart. He still loved her; J.R. was as crazy about Babe as he was about her. He couldn’t imagined how devastated he would be if he were in his shoes. He honestly doesn’t think he would be able to bear her being with another man even for a second. Luckily, he’d never have to know what that felt like.
Colby answered the phone when Josh called to see if Babe was safe, and said Babe was not all right, “Babe is dead.”
IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH FUSION
At ConFusion, Jonathan thought Amanda had lost her mind when she produced a bog of elf and reindeer antler hats, saying he wouldn’t put one on his head even if Santa himself asked him! Del offered to wear the hat and nothing else; Jonathan warned Amanda to lock her door at night, but called it just some friendly advice, because he didn’t forget that she didn’t need protection. They heard sirens approach and then stop; Amanda said it sounded like it was right outside.
Jonathan called and leaves a message on Erin’s voice mail at the office, telling her there were cops outside, again, and he just wanted to make sure she was okay. He hung up and told Amanda there was nobody up there. Amanda thought that had to be a good thing. Whatever the cops were doing there, it had nothing to do with Fusion.
DON’T LET ANYBODY GET NEAR MY WIFE!
Kendall pushed Zach to remember his dream; he said if he was smiling, he must have been dreaming of his beautiful wife. As they started to make love, Josh called and told Zach he’d just found Erin Lavery dead on the Fusion rooftop, “It’s just like Simone.”
Zach hurriedly dressed, not telling Kendall why he had to leave. As he went out in the courtyard, he saw Annie, who had come to meet Ryan. Knowing Ryan wouldn’t be coming, Zach insisted Annie go inside and wait with Kendall. He called his man to double the security he had at the condo, and told him not to let anybody near his wife.
IT’S ABOUT SIMONE
Bianca was stunned when Ryan told her that Simone had left all of her assets to Miranda, calling it her final gift from her and Ethan. Ryan got a call from Zach, asking if Bianca was with him? Ryan said yes, and Zach said to tell her to sit tight, “Something happened tonight on the Fusion rooftop.” Ryan told Bianca he had to run out for a little bit. Did she mind sticking around here, reading through the documents and signing them on her own? Bianca agreed, and Ryan hurried out.
TOO LATE TO DO ANYTHING
Josh waited for Derek to arrive; he filled him in and said he really had to go. Zach arrived and said Simone and Erin were both murdered; Derek wondered how he knew this was a homicide before any of the rest of them?
Jonathan went upstairs to find the Fusion office empty. When the crime scene investigators rushed past him, he followed them up to the roof, where he refused to believe his sister was dead. He took her in his arms and insisted he’d take care of her as she always had him.
Zach was waiting when Ryan came into the Fusion offices; he broke the news to him, and followed when Ryan hurried to the rooftop. Upstairs, Ryan convinced Jonathan that Erin was dead, and vowed someone would pay for it.
ARE YOU WILLING TO DO THE SAME?
Josh showed up at the Chandler mansion and demanded to see Babe, who was stunned to hear of Erin’s death. Told to leave, Josh warned J.R. to take care of Babe. J.R. told Adam to see what needed to be done for Erin, and do it. Adam agreed, and told his son to try to get some sleep. He left, and J.R. repeated, “Erin, Simone. Oh, god, Babe.”
Babe returned to the darkened room where J.R. was asleep. She sat beside the bed and sobbed, “I need you, J.R. Please, I need you so badly.” As she buried her head in her hands, J.R. woke up. He reached out to her, almost touching her hand, but pulled back before she saw him.
IT’S PROBABLY BETTER THAT WAY
Annie was taken aback when Kendall asked if she’d ever thought about finding Emma's biological father, and said Ryan had asked the same thing, but she felt it was better never to know. Kendall agreed completely. Annie wondered if Kendall was confident in her decision to stay with Zach. Told yes, she called that good, because she was falling in love with Ryan.
WHO DID IT?
Crazed with grief, Jonathan went into ConFusion, indiscriminately grabbing male patrons and demanding, “Who did it? Who did it, huh? Huh? Was it you?” Ryan and Zach pulled him away.
WHAT INTRIGUES YOU THE MOST?
Bianca was startled when Zarf tracked her down at Ryan’s office. He asked if it scared her that he had fallen madly in love with her and believed their lives were fated to be intertwined? “You won't hide from me, will you? Run away to avoid my advances?” Bianca said no, she wouldn’t. For some crazy reason, and it was crazy, she wasn’t scared by him, or intimidated by him, “And I think that you're outrageous and fun and I find myself more intrigued by you every time I see you.” Asked what about him intrigued her the most, Bianca replied, “I want to know what you're hiding.”

Wednesday, December 13, 2006WE ARE THE SAME
Bianca teased Zarf about telling her his secrets, asking him to tell her his whole story. Zarf agreed, when the time came, he would share everything with her because she was a part of his story, “You and I are sympatico. We are the same.” Bianca laughed they couldn't be more different. Zarf wanted her to take him to the place where she felt most like herself, where she could be her purest essence.
MAYBE I AM
As she helped him to her room at the Valley Inn, Erica was startled when Jeff swept her up in his arms and carried her over the threshold, not wanting to jinx their honeymoon. Erica got him settled on the sofa and wiped his brow with a cool compress as she told him he was very ill with malaria. Jeff didn’t believe it when she said they were divorced, and she was married to somebody else. Later, Jeff looked around in confusion, and Erica explained he’d been delirious. He actually thought they were just married and still on their honeymoon! When Jeff again refused to let her call Joe, Erica exclaimed this macho act wasn’t helping him! Jeff raised an eyebrow, “’Act’?” Erica sighed, “Oh, boy, are you taking advantage.” Jeff admitted, “Maybe I am.” Erica got Jeff settled and asleep in his bed. Seeing him shivering, she slipped under the covers with him, holding him close.
I SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE
Aidan was stunned when Jonathan asked if he killed Erin. Amanda took Jonathan to the office while Derek questioned the bar patrons. Zach told Aidan how Josh had found Erin’s body; Aidan realized that Fusion had a serial killer.
Zach told Ryan that Kendall was fine, at the condo with his men watching the place, and Annie was there, too. Ryan thanked him when he said he’d make sure Annie got home all right, and told him to protect Kendall.
Jonathan remembered all the times Erin saved him, and cried that he should have been there to save her. She always protected him when he was a child, promising he’d never be alone. He wanted to go to the hospital so Erin wouldn’t be alone.
Derek learned that Erin had been talking to Zarf earlier in the evening, and Ryan said Zarf also happened to be talking to Simone right before she turned up dead. Derek called that interesting, and Ryan said Zach thought so, too. In fact, he was running a check on him. Derek thought he’d do the same.
WE ALL FALL FOR OUR HEROES
Kendall told Annie she was okay with her feelings for Ryan, adding she wasn’t surprised she was falling in love with him, “We all fall for our heroes.” Spike started to cry, and Kendall seemed unsettled by how easily Annie was able to calm him down. When she told Annie she was glad Ryan was dating again and that they were so close, Annie sensed a silent “but”. Kendall showed her a picture of Greenlee, asking if she noticed anything familiar about her? Annie agreed they kind of looked alike, and was taken aback when Kendall told her that was Ryan's ex-wife. Kendall filled her in about how Spike was conceived, adding she didn’t think Ryan would ever get over Greenlee. Annie wondered if that was why Ryan was paying attention to her? Kendall didn’t think it was a conscious thing. Ryan wasn’t using her; he wouldn't do that. Zach returned and told the women about Erin’s murder.
SOMETHING BIG HAPPENED
Bianca took Zarf to the boathouse, and was taken aback when he seemed able to read her mind about the times she’d spent there with the woman she loved. He asked when she opened herself to another woman, when she allowed herself to love and be loved, did she embrace another woman's body or her soul? Bianca said her soul. Zarf took her hands and said he needed her to look past his body and into his soul, “I want to kiss you again.” Bianca told him again that she was a lesbian, not attracted to men. Zarf said this was about transcending the physical to another plane. Just one single kiss; he wouldn’t take advantage. Bianca closed her eyes and leaned forward so he can kiss her. The kiss, although gentle, left her breathless, and she admitted didn't expect to be moved but she was. Zarf told her she didn’t understand how monumental this was now, “But you will.”
Ryan called Bianca and asked where she was; told she was at the boathouse, he said he was on his way but gave no explanation. Zarf solemnly declared, “Something big happened.”
SHE MEANT SOMETHING TO ME
Aidan was upset when Derek turned down his offer of help on the case, saying that Erin meant something to him. Derek said he couldn’t risk involving anyone who might be out for revenge, but he’d keep him informed.
Amanda appealed to Derek to let Jonathan spend time with his sister, citing how she felt when he wouldn’t let her be with Trevor after he was found, and asking him to make it happen.
Aidan told Di he had loved Erin, “Things might not have turned out the way we expected, the way either of us wanted, but I loved her.” He broke down, and Di comforted him.
WE DIDN’T LOSE THEM
Ryan rushed into the boathouse, out of breath and relieved to see Bianca. Told that Zarf left after he called, Ryan agreed, “Yeah, I bet he did.” When he told her about Erin’s death, Bianca exclaimed it wasn’t possible—they couldn’t have lost Erin and Simone! Ryan told her they didn’t lose them, they were taken. Erin was murdered. Bianca went into his arms as she sobbed, “Oh, my god, Ryan. Oh, my god!”
ERIN IS NOT DEAD!
Zach broke the news of Erin’s murder to Kendall, who refused to believe Erin was dead. She pleaded with him to tell her it wasn’t true, and Zach held her as she sobbed in his arms.
Annie cried as she sat alone on the penthouse terrace, remembering the friend who had given her hope.
I’M RIGHT HERE
Jonathan cried as he thought of all the times Erin had cared for him. Amanda got Derek’s okay, and took Jonathan to be with Erin; he told his sister she wasn’t alone; he was right there.
Zarf came into ConFusion and looked around. Seeing the somber faces and Derek questioning the patrons, he quickly slipped back out into the night.

Thursday, December 14, 2006FATAL BEAUTY
Jeff woke up and looked around to get his bearings, pleased and somewhat startled to see Erica next to him in bed. When Erica asked how he felt, Jeff smiled, “What, waking up with you? I must be fantastic.” He saw that he was fully dressed under the covers and sighed, “Oh. Well, somehow I think that last night was not all that I wished for.” Erica told him about his nasty attack of malaria, and how he thought they were newlyweds, “You said that you were crazy in love with me.” Jeff told her he still was crazy in love with her. Erica was stunned to read the front page headline of The Exposer, “Fatal Beauty: Second Victim at Fusion Cosmetics”.
BECAUSE OF ME
Kendall started to leave for the office, but Zach begged her not to go. Kendall admitted she was scared, too, but no one was going to make her hide. If Simone and Erin were here, they would tell her to get up off her lazy butt and go to work. Bianca came in and said she was going with her. She filled Kendall in on the security precautions she’d taken through Cambias, but Zach didn’t think even that was enough. He’d never forgive himself if something happened to Kendall, and she might be in the biggest danger of all because of him.
LOVING SOMEONE DOESN’T MEAN THAT YOU’RE WEAK
Babe refused to stay away from Fusion after J.R. told her not to go, and J.R. was unable to tell her how he really felt. Dixie overheard when he spoke to Babe sharply; after Babe left, she asked her son why he couldn’t tell Babe the truth, that he loved her and was worried about her safety. She insisted that loving someone didn’t mean you were weak, just that you care and were connected. Dixie was pleased when J.R. asked her to make sure Babe had some security.
Babe left the mansion, and found Josh waiting outside to go with her to Fusion. He insisted he just wanted to make sure she was safe, and was going with her. Colby opened the front door and watched as Josh followed Babe. She couldn’t wait to tell her brother that Babe left with her own personal male escort—Josh!
TELL ME HOW I CAN HELP YOU
Annie came to wait with Ryan in the morgue. She spoke movingly about how she’d cared for Erin, and Ryan thought it would be nice if she spoke at Erin’s service. Annie urged Ryan to let his friends help him, but he insisted Erin was his sister, and he had to take care of everything. Annie asked Ryan if she could wait with him; they watched in silence as Erin’s body was taken away.
LONG LIVE FUSION
Josh took Babe to Fusion, and insisted on staying with her. Babe’s eyes lit up when Kendall, Zach and Bianca arrived, saying she knew they’d be there! Kendall agreed the women of Fusion were all together on staying; Kendall told Babe whatever was going on between them was on the shelf until they found the maniac who’d killed their friends. Bianca declared, “Long Live Fusion.” Dani came in with Derek, who coordinated security with Zach.
The women all agreed the first thing to do was address the public, make a statement to let them know that while they were mourning, their company was still going strong. Jack arrived and called it a bad idea. Zach attacked a man that came in with a large case; Kendall said to let him go—he was a reporter she’d invited for a press conference. When Erica showed up with Jeff, Jack urged her to convince her daughters to leave. Erica couldn’t, saying she had taught them to never back down, triumph over tragedy, and keep living. Resilience and strength—it was the most important thing she’d taught her daughters, “So now, how in the world can I possibly tell them not to do something that they believe is right?” Kendall called for attention, saying they were almost ready, “Now, I want everyone here showing their support.”
PEOPLE THAT CARE
Jamie and Julia told Aidan they were so sorry about Erin—what could they do? Aidan didn’t even look up from his laptop as he told them to let him focus; some friends had broken every rule in the book to get him complete access to the same criminal database as the FBI and Interpol, so he was entering as much information on Erin and Simone's murders to see if there was a guy out there with the same M.O. or an unresolved case that turned out to be related. All he needed was a lead!
Amanda brought Jonathan to Wildwind to be with people that cared about him; Di, Julia, Jamie and Aidan all reached out to comfort him. Di got her coat and quietly slipped out, going to ask Zach for time off at the casino so she could help out at Fusion. Kendall and Babe welcomed her to the team.
Amanda came back downstairs and rested her hand on Jonathan’s shoulder; they all sat and watched a large screen TV as the Fusion press conference began.
FUSION IS HERE
Erica smiled at Bianca and Kendall as the cameras rolled and Kendall began, “Fusion Cosmetics was attacked. Simone Torres and Erin Lavery, two of our dearest friends and colleagues, are gone. In a time of year that's all about giving, we've been robbed of two beautiful and brilliant souls. Rather than rejoicing with them, we are grieving for them.” She could say they have no fear, but that would be a lie. She spoke of how Fusion was born in her kitchen, and how they’d struck gold in the bond they had formed. Jack, Jeff, Zach and Josh stood behind the women, showing unity and support.
J.R. and Colby watched the press conference as Kendall said they even let an occasional brother pitch in. Kendall went on, “The bond that we share is unbreakable. The passion, the desire that we share is forever.” She stood and the other women followed suit. They joined hands as Kendall concluded, “Fusion is here, standing together, standing strong, standing proud. And you will never take us down.” Jack and Erica looked at each other, obviously greatly moved by their daughters’ bravery and grace under pressure.

Friday, December 15, 2006DEFINITELY SOMETHING OFF
As Zach flashed back to the young woman in his visions and dreams, he took a picture of her from his pocket; he hurriedly replaced it when Kendall asked what it was. Derek arrived and wanted to talk to Zach alone; Zach convinced Kendall to go check on Ryan. She left, and Derek again asked how Zach immediately knew that Simone was murdered? Zach wondered if he was looking for an answer or a confession? He couldn’t tag him for Madden’s murder, so now he wanted to get him for the Fusion killings? Derek insisted he just wanted to take down a serial killer, and would stop this guy with or without his assistance. Zach just knew that Simone wasn’t suicidal, and she wasn’t using drugs. Just the way she was, with the gardenia and the ribbons, he thought someone killed her and laid her out and added props.
Derek said he’d learned that Zarf was busted for smoking pot a couple of times when he was younger. No other criminal record. What was his take on Zarf? Zach replied, “Serial killer, I don't think so, but there's definitely something off about the kid.”
NOT THIS TIME
Ryan looked at the dresses Annie had selected, but didn’t want to make a choice and said he’d take them all to the funeral home. He picked up a pair of black shoes; seeing something inside, he tilted a shoe and a penny fell out. It triggered a memory, and brought tears to his eyes. When Kendall arrived, Ryan insisted he was fine, but Kendall knew better. She reluctantly left after getting his promise to call if he needed anything.
Annie returned after checking on Emma, and Ryan told her why the penny had significance for him and for Erin, a memory from childhood of how Erin believed a penny in your shoe brought good luck, and how she’d placed a coin in his boot when he first ran away from home. When Annie told him it was okay to grieve, Ryan didn’t feel he deserved it—he should have stayed and taken care of his kid sister and brother instead of thinking only of himself and getting away. He vowed to find Erin’s killer and make him pay—he wasn’t going to let his sibs down this time! Annie insisted he deserved to feel the love and the pain, the pain for the sister that he loved, for the sister who loved him. Ryan broke down, and Annie held him in her arms as he cried.
NO ONE IS SAFE, NO PLACE IS SAFE
After Zarf told him that Babe was on the roof, Josh hurried upstairs, and was horrified to find Babe lying in a chair, very still and with her eyes closed. He rushed to her and was greatly relieved to see she was all right, but hugged her to him and said it was like when he found Erin. Babe was sorry that she scared him like that, but assured him she was safe with the guard posted on the other side of that door. Josh insisted no one and no place was safe until the killer was caught. Babe sighed this used to be her favorite place, and now she’d lost her friend there. Since they got together, so many horrible things had happened. Josh said bad things happen, and it wasn’t their fault for making love up on the roof. What happened between the two of them was in his heart for the rest of his life.
Jonathan and Amanda came to Fusion to get Erin’s things; Jonathan was moved by the mementos his sister had kept for so many years. He told Amanda that Fusion was one of the places where Erin was the happiest.
Zarf told Jonathan when he saw his sister, he saw a woman of kindness and generosity, a loyal, wise, old soul. He touched Jonathan’s shoulder and said she understood him, defended him, loved him, “You have that. Her death can't take that away.”
Babe asked if her friends had suffered; Josh said no and reached out to her, but Babe said she’d break into a hundred pieces if he touched her.
Livia arrived to take Dani home with her; Dani was amused when her aunt was thrilled to meet Zarf.
Josh told Babe he gave her his word, he wasn’t at Fusion to make a play for her. He just wanted her to be safe; he wanted his sisters and Dani to be safe, too. As soon as they caught this killer, he was gone. Babe was pleased when she learned that J.R. had hired security to protect her 24/7.
I DON’T WANT YOU TO DIE
Colby offered to get rid of Babe for her brother, but J.R. admitted he still loved Babe. Colby wanted to help him determine if Babe was sincere in her love for him, but Josh made her promise, no more spying on Babe or Josh, “No funny business!” Colby smiled and crossed her heart.
Babe returned home, and thanked J.R. for hiring security for her. J.R. claimed he did it for their son, but admitted he didn’t want her to die.
A CRISIS OF OUR OWN
Zach was looking at the picture again when Kendall returned home and wanted to know what Derek said. She was pleased when Zach said he and Derek were going to share information, and confided her fears about Ryan. After receiving a delivery, a sketch of a young woman lying in death as Simone had, Zach made an excuse to leave; Kendall told Spike they had a crisis of their own to take care of.
THIS IS GOING TO BE SO GOOD!
Colby bribed her way into Josh’s room at the Valley Inn to set up a nanny cam in the hopes of catching Babe’s infidelity on tape. As she said it was going to be so good and rolled around on the bed to check the camera angles, Josh returned to his room.
AN APOLOGY OF SORTS?
Zarf was leaving the Fusion offices as Zach arrived, and said everyone had gone. Zach called that good, “I’m here to see you.” Zarf wondered if this was an apology of sorts? Zach held up the drawing and demanded, “Who is this woman? And why did you kill her?”
pika- 01-29-2007
Monday, December 18, 2006BIG GIRLS KNOW THAT NOT EVERYTHING CAN BE
Kendall brought Spike over to the penthouse to cheer Ryan up, but left before Ryan saw her after watching Emma comfort him. After Emma went back to bed, Ryan called her a great little girl, and Annie smiled that kids always want to make things better, but big girls know that not everything can be. As she said he loved his sister and was entitled to whatever he felt, Jonathan and Amanda came in; Jonathan said they picked up Erin’s stuff at Fusion and they found something. Ryan looked at the “Dynamite Kiddo” comic book and marveled that it was in perfect condition. Jonathan explained that Ryan gave it to Erin when they were little kids; Amanda said she kept it this whole time. It must have really meant a lot to her. When Annie told Ryan he didn’t need to feel so bad about the past, Jonathan asked, “You’re not back to that again, are you?” Ryan sighed he never should have left them—they were kids! Jonathan asked if he didn’t get it? He was their hero! He got out, and became their inspiration. It was time to let go of all of that, because Erin wouldn’t want him to feel bad.
After hearing a sound and thinking it was Erin, Jonathan realized he couldn’t stay there where he saw Erin everywhere. Amanda suggested he come to stay at Wildwind where he could be around friends. Jonathan refused, saying Annie would need him, but she convinced him she and Emma would be fine and he should go.
MOMMY GETS HERS, BUT NOT DADDY?
Josh came in to find Colby rolling around on his bed; she claimed she’d just come to talk, but he told her to get the message, “You’re a kid, I’m an adult. The last time I was nice to you, you charged me with statutory rape.” He had a maid step inside the room as a witness, refusing to be alone with Colby. As he demanded that she leave, Kendall arrived and dragged her out by the hair. Josh wondered what had his sister so feisty, and she admitted she was upset about Annie trying to reel Ryan in. Josh reminded her that she was happy with Zach, so what was the problem with Ryan having someone in his life? Kendall insisted this was about Spike, and Josh asked, “Mommy gets hers but not Daddy?” It seemed a little unfair to him.
Kendall sighed maybe she should just forget the whole thing. She was sure it was just a lie, and she should never have listened when David Hayward told her Ryan was Emma’s father. Regardless, she had to know, and asked for Josh’s help in finding out. She explained why she thought it was possible, but Josh wondered if she’d thought that Greg could have been the sperm donor? What would she do then? Kendall told him if Greg was Emma’s biological father, she wouldn’t say a word. “And what if he’s not?” Josh questioned. Kendall wasn’t sure what she would tell Ryan if he was Emma’s father. Josh insisted that wouldn’t make Ryan love Spike any less, but understood she was worried Ryan would spend more time with the kid he didn’t have to share. Kendall didn’t think Annie was good enough for Ryan, and he shouldn’t settle, “Especially when he’s so upset that he couldn’t have me.” Josh laughed, “You know, you really are your mother.” He asked if she was sure she wanted to know? Kendall did, and Josh agreed to run the -*test*-('").
I’VE GOT YOUR BACK, STARTING RIGHT NOW
Aidan was upset when Di said she was going to Fusion to fill in for Erin for a while, and worried that the killer would target her next. He admitted he cared about her and didn’t want to lose her. After Di insisted she could take care of herself, Aidan agreed he wouldn’t try to stop her, but he had her back, starting right then.
DEAL!
Colby was watching Josh and Kendall on the nanny cam footage when Sean came into BJ’s. She explained she was doing this for her brother, and was going to find out if Babe was lying or not. It was the best Christmas present she could give J.R. Sean wondered, while she was at it, did she have any idea of how to keep Josh’s dad away from Erica? Colby bet she could get Erica back home in time for Christmas, and suggested a deal—if she made it happen, he had to take her out for New Year’s, to a huge club in New York, limo, fakes IDs, the works. Sean agreed, deal, and they shook on it. Colby said there was one other thing. If she got Erica to come home, he had to help her bust Babe and Josh. Sean agreed.
HOW DO YOU KNOW ABOUT HER?
Zach held up the drawing, and Zarf asked where he got that? Zach said he left it behind at his last recording session; he was told it was supposed to be the cover art. He called it good, looks a little like Simone, a girl laying down, a flower in her hair, “Not a gardenia, not a white ribbon, but very close.” Was she his first victim? His own lyrics indicted him! He read them aloud, “Me or Her”, and cited Zarf saying in the song that he had killed her. As he grabbed Zarf and shook him, asking how he knew about her, Bianca came in and insisted he let Zarf go.
Bianca didn’t think the drawing or the lyrics were enough to accuse Zarf of anything, and Zarf explained the song was a metaphor for the part of us that we want to go away; he told Zach, “You have a part like that, too, a part that makes you feel what you don’t want to feel.” He left, and Bianca asked Zach what was going on with him? She’d never seen him like that before! Zach told her it was his fault, “I brought this on all of you.” These killings were a message to him, but he didn’t know what the connection was. How could Zarf know? He had no way of knowing any of that, and why would he care? Bianca had no idea what he was talking about. Zach said he had to go; Bianca insisted on staying to decorate for Christmas so it wouldn’t be so depressing. Later, she jumped when Zarf returned and sprinkled her with snow. He asked, if she was afraid of him? “Do you really think I’d hurt you?”
Zach went to the park, where he had a vision of finding Kendall dead.
PRETTY AMAZING
Ryan called Annie pretty amazing. He gently kissed her, and Annie responded.

Tuesday, December 19, 2006ENTER THE STAR
Julia is delighted and grateful when Jamie came to the hospital dressed as Jingles, one of Santa’s helpers, to entertain the children from the pediatric ward. When the kids went to have cider and a piece of the gingerbread house, Jamie told Julia the origin of his family wishing on the Christmas star, and they made their silent wishes; Jamie wished for Kate’s return to the family, and Julia wished for a child.
YOU CAN’T THROW CHRISTMAS AWAY!
Dixie found Tad brooding in his darkened living room, but he claimed he was working, going over everything he knew about Simone’s death and Erin’s. Dixie retrieved the large box of holiday mementos she found near the trash cans and asked what he was thinking? “You can’t throw Christmas away.” She felt he was depressed because they didn’t have Kate with them for Christmas, and continued to insist that Krystal was carrying his child.
Tad knew she was only trying to make this happen because she wanted to replace the child that he lost. He loved her for trying to make things better, but this was not the way to do it. If they were going to survive this, they had to get past that kind of desperation. In order to convince her that she was wrong about his being in bad shape, Tad agreed to decorate for Christmas.
PREPARE FOR YOUR NEXT SURPRISE!
Krystal was moved and pleased when Adam gave her a gift box containing a silver rattle with the engraved initials, “C.C.C.”, for Charlotte Carey Chandler. Babe came in, and Adam asked if she’d keep her mother company while he prepared her next surprise?
Adam returned with another gift box, and told Babe she, like her mother, looked positively radiant! He told the two radiant ladies to just stay put, and chuckled as he again left the room. Babe asked her mama if she was sure they weren’t triplets and he was the missing Chandler brother? Krystal didn’t know, but he was one happy hound. She said Adam was right, Babe was glowing. Babe told her she was actually feeling hopeful, and like herself again. As Krystal spoke of her joy and Adam’s over the child she was carrying, Babe said she’s made the right decision about Tad. Krystal agreed, definitely.
Adam and Winifred wheeled J.R.’s bed into the living room so he could join in the tree decorating party. Babe and J.R. shared a close moment as they looked over all of Little Adam’s loot; both were taken aback when one of the items on their son’s Christmas list was a baby brother.
Krystal was delighted at Adam’s final surprise for the evening—he’d invited her friends to continue the Krystal Carey Chandler Annual Trucker-fest!
DISGUISES AREN’T TRANSFORMATIONS
Bianca noted she wouldn’t be alone with Zarf if she was afraid, and wasn’t afraid of him when he kissed her. “Only of what you felt,” he replied. Bianca admitted she saw herself in his eyes, along with pain and confusion. Zarf sensed that she felt the same over the loss of her partner, Maggie. When Bianca denied it and said she was fine, Zarf insisted trying to fool him was like trying to fool herself. He agreed he was heartbroken, too, but he’d done it to himself. When he said he needed her, Bianca admitted she needed him, too, but her aura wouldn’t tell him why. Zarf told her about his childhood, not fitting in, and his parents’ disappointment in having a son like him. He admitted his childhood wish has been to be someone else but it still hadn’t happened, “Disguises aren’t transformations.”
Bianca thought maybe this was the year his wish would come true. She’d had personal experience with Christmas miracles, and they were real. She thought he should talk to her friend, Father Clarence. Zarf told her to forget it! His mother always used to think if she prayed the right prayer and lit the right candle, it would turn him around, but all it did was turn him inside out. He didn’t get what he wanted for Christmas, “Neither did my parents.” Bianca noted he had a pretty big secret, and reminded him he promised he’d tell her everything. “When we’re both ready,” Zarf agree, and Bianca guessed his secret was tat he was gay. Zarf only wished it were that simple. When the nanny brought Miranda to go with Bianca to find a Christmas tree, Zarf felt that Miranda was even more intuitive than his mummy, a Christmas miracle in and of herself. Zarf joined Bianca and Miranda when they went to the tree lot to find the perfect tree.
LIFE HAS GOTTEN A LITTLE BETTER
Emma interrupted Annie and Ryan’s kiss, worried that Santa wouldn’t come because they didn’t have a tree. Ryan told her to get dressed, because they were going to get a tree right now. Annie insisted it could wait, but Ryan said he’d already done everything he could for Erin, and was ready for the service tomorrow. In the last 20 minutes, life had gotten a little better, and making sure that Emma knew Santa wasn’t going to forget about her would help a lot.
When they got to the tree lot, Stuart told Ryan he was so sorry about Erin; she was such a beautiful soul. When he and Adam lost their sister, Charlotte, it was as if God just turned off the sun. Ryan nodded, they needed all the light they could get, didn’t they? Stuart agreed, and said that was a good place to find some. Ryan thought maybe he could help him find a very special Christmas tree for a very special little girl.
When they returned to the penthouse with the tree, Emma was delighted to see the Christmas decorations everywhere. Ryan explained he had a friend at the North Pole; he called him and told him they had to get this baby ready for Christmas, so he helped him out a little. Impressed, Emma exclaimed, “Wow!” Annie watched happily as Ryan placed a Santa hat on Emma’s head and picked her up to put the star on top of the tree.

Wednesday, December 20, 2006LAUGH OFTEN, AND LOVE MUCH
The guests arrived for Erin’s and Simone’s services, and the minister began, “Laugh often, and love much.”
Kendall spoke of Simone or Erin, their kindness and generosity and love. Tad drew a laugh amidst the tears as he related a funny story about Simone. Jonathan stood up to speak, but was overcome with emotion and unable to continue.
I JUST WANT TO GET SOME ANSWERS
Tad and Aidan offered their help to Derek, who said if he needed any help, he’d be in touch. Realizing he had nothing, Tad and Aidan agreed they were on their own. Brooke worried that Tad was fading away to a place no one could reach him, and asked what they could do? Dixie said they could give him back his child.
After Lily offered her condolences, Jack looked at Erica before leaving with his daughter.
Ryan left with Annie; Jonathan kissed his fingertips and touched them to the coffin before leaving with Amanda. Zach told Kendall he could be a little late getting to Fusion; he just wanted to get some answers.
Josh wasn’t pleased when Babe said she had to be okay for her son, and she and J.R. were going to make sure that Little A’s Christmas was the best.
TO FROSTY!
J.R. told Stuart to say it, he and Babe should kiss and make up. Stuart asked how he felt about Babe? J.R. admitted he still loved her, but it would never be the same again; everything he was supposed to feel to forgive her just wasn’t happening. Stuart didn’t think that forgiving was a feeling but a choice, and once you made that choice, everything else would follow along with it.
Krystal was tickled at Adam’s surprise party; the truckers toasted their good pal, honorary trucker and daddy-to-be, “To Frosty!” Adam asked who would have thought that a marriage made in moonshine would lead to true love? He kissed his wife, and their guests cheered. Colby was disgusted with the whole thing.
EVERYTHING I KNOW ABOUT ME
Tad stayed behind after the service, and was surprised when Zach said he wanted to hire him; he asked, “What on Earth could Mr. Know-It-All have that he would want investigated?” Zach replied, “Me.” He said there was a message for him in these murders. Someone knew something about his past, and the killer was no stranger to him. He gave Tad an envelope, “This is everything I know about me, past and present. Use it. Dig deep enough to find what we’re looking for.” Tad asked what any of this had to do with him? Zach said a gardenia, and a single white ribbon. Tad agreed the flowers and white ribbon were like a signature, but how did that relate to him? Zach shrugged he was the investigator, “Figure it out.”
IF TODAY TEACHES ANYTHING
When the nannies brought Spike, Miranda and Emma to cheer everyone up after the service, Bianca seemed disturbed when Babe picked Miranda up in her arms and said she missed her. Later, Dixie followed Babe to the roof, and tried to trick her into admitting that Krystal was carrying Tad’s baby.
Jonathan came to the reception at Fusion, but couldn’t handle it and left with Amanda. Erica offered words of comfort to Ryan, relating how she got through the loss of her mother, and learned that the people we love lived on in friends and family. Kendall wasn’t pleased to see Ryan with Emma, and asked Josh if he was still going to find out if Emma was Ryan’s daughter? Josh still thought the chances were slim to none, but he’d handle it.
Livia urged Jack to get back together with Erica, saying if today taught anything, it was to treasure the time you have with those that you love. Later, she told Erica that Jack didn’t want the divorce and she was sure she didn’t either, so please just think about it.
JUST TRYING TO PASS IT ON
At the boathouse, Amanda became angry when Jonathan said he couldn’t continue to take advantage of her. She agreed she still loved him, but was very clear on where they stood, and would be supporting any of her friends the way she had him. Her friends had helped her after her dad died, and she was just trying to pass it on. She started to leave, but Jonathan asked her to stay. He told her that her strength had helped him more than anything since Erin, “I can’t imagine my world without her.” He touched her cheek, “And I can’t imagine my world without you.”
HOW DO I DO IT?
“How do I do it?” J.R. asked. His wife cheated on him and lied to him—how could he forget how that made him feel? Stuart said she lied to him because she was so ashamed of what she did, but he couldn’t hold onto that. He just had to make a choice, and let it go. Everyone makes mistakes!
The moment Jamie arrived, J.R. asked how Babe held up at the service? Jamie wondered why he cared if he didn’t care about her. If he couldn’t go all the way, total love, total trust, just end it. J.R. asked, “What if I can go all the way?”
PUT LOVE ABOVE ALL ELSE
At the reception, Josh managed to collect DNA samples from both Ryan and Emma. Kendall hesitated, but told her brother to do the -*test*-('"); she had to know who that little girl’s father really was.
Ryan spoke movingly about his sister and Simone, and asked the guests to honor them by being kind to each other and put love above all else.
Jack told Erica how proud he was of Kendall and Bianca, and was pleased when she said his nephew Sean had inherited his good traits; he felt their problems were his fault, and he didn’t want his uncle unhappy. Jack thanked her for disavowing Sean of any blame, adding it was nice to know he cared. Erica told him she cared, too.
ON THE FIRST DAY OF CHRISTMAS
Sean told Colby if she didn’t get results, his aunt home before Christmas, no rockin’ New Year’s Eve, “Let’s see what you got.”
Erica returned to her office to find a small, beautifully wrapped gift and card on her desk. She opened the card and read the printed message aloud, “On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me. All my love, J.” She opened the box to find a jeweled pin of a partridge in a pear tree.

Thursday, December 21, 2006WHAT IF CHRISTMAS DOESN’T COME?
After the reception at Fusion, Jack told Bianca and Kendall he hoped they knew he was there for them, no matter what. About to go, he looked at Zach questioningly; Zach nodded slightly, and Jack returned the nod before leaving. Zach worried that the person who did this could do it again, and Bianca told him it wasn’t Zarf. She’d spent a lot of time with him, and felt he was just lost, not violent. When Zach and Kendall started to leave, Bianca chose to stay, assuring them that she’d be fine. Kendall thanked her for bringing Christmas there, or at least trying, but worried, “What if Christmas doesn’t come?” Zach hugged her and said it would be there before she knew it.
TWO TURTLE DOVES
As Erica was looking at the jeweled brooch of a partridge in a pear tree, Jeff arrived. She thanked him for checking on her, “And thank you for something else, as well?” Jeff said it was tempting to take credit, but no. Colby and Sean listened at the door and discussed Colby’s plan; she shoved him into Erica’s office, “Cue the concerned nephew!” Once inside, Sean implied that her gift was from Jack and there were more to come. Colby thought his performance was awesome; they left as a messenger brought Erica’s second gift, two turtledoves. Erica was noncommittal when Jeff invited to her a Philharmonic performance.
UNTHINKABLE AND UNFORGIVABLE
Dixie told Babe she knew that Krystal was carrying Tad’s baby, implying that Krystal had told her as much. Babe insisted it was a lie that David dreamed up, but inadvertently confirmed what Dixie believed she already knew. Babe gave an impassioned plea to Dixie to drop the idea and leave her mama and her unborn child alone, but Dixie was obviously pleased at Babe’s slip of the tongue.
After Babe left, Bianca came out on the roof. Dixie commented on Bianca standing by Babe at the gravesite and on Bianca’s letting Babe hold her daughter. When Dixie questioned how she forgave the person that kept her child from her, Bianca told her nobody had a right to keep a parent from her child. There was no excuse for that, no rationalization, “It’s unthinkable and unforgivable.” Dixie thanked her for her honesty.
X-MAS BLISS?
Back at the Montgomery house, Colby insisted Erica would be home for Christmas and she had tons more gifts coming, some fancy, some expensive, some homemade—she was covering all the romantic angles! Erica would play it cool, at least until the five golden rings, and then she would run into his uncle’s arms.
OH, HOLY NIGHT!
Krystal dressed up as a very sexy Mrs. Santa Claus, and cajoled Adam into playing Ebenezer Scrooge for the children; seeing his costume, she exclaimed, “Oh, holy night!” Adam played his part well, to the delight of the children. Babe arrived, distraught over slipping to Dixie when she agreed her mama’s situation was awful. Krystal insisted it was a problem of her own making; she’d just accepted the fact that she was going to have to live with this decision she’d made for the rest of her life, unless Dixie made the decision on her own. Asked to tell another story, Adam agreed, “It’s a story about a miraculous baby who brought great joy, the most wondrous baby ever born.”
CHUGGA-CHUGGA-CHOO-CHOO!
Zach brought Kendall back home, where she was surprised to see a beautifully decorated tree with a small railroad running around it, and the entire condo decked out for Christmas. “What did you do?” she gasped. Zach said he knew who did this, those crazy, sick little bastard elves… Kendall knew, “No, that would be you,” and kissed him. She admired the tree as Zach got the train going, calling him amazing, if a train-a-holic. Zach insisted that little boys like trains, and produced two engineers’ caps, one for him and a little one for Spike. Kendall grinned he was really hot right now, and they made love on the floor in front of the fire. Later, she watched the train go around the track, and smiled she saw what all the fuss was about, “Chugga-chugga-choo-choo!”
CAN YOU CLEANSE A TAINTED SOUL?
Tad was poring over the information Zach gave him, but imagined a little girl’s voice calling for her daddy, and Dixie’s voice, “Go on, Kate, go find Daddy.” He shook the voices from his head, but couldn’t get away from the memory of his own distorted voice as he tortured Greg Madden. Livia arrived and said she’d figured out who killed Greg Madden. She wasn’t there in her official capacity as an officer of the court, but because she used to call him her friend. What the hell happened to him? On the witness stand, his eyes were cold and empty, his soul was gone. Tad agreed there was nothing left of the man she once knew—Tad Martin was dead! Could she cleanse a tainted soul? Livia insisted that God knew what he was going through, and God was the only one that could judge and forgive. Asked why God would care about a man like him, Livia said that as long as you’re alive you can pray, and as long as you can pray, there is hope. Christ died so that we are all forgiven, we are all saved, “You simply have to accept and receive that.” Tad told her to look at him, look at his eyes. She was right the first time. There was nothing left, and that’s all there is to it.
Alone, Tad sat and heard Dixie’s and Kate’s voices again, and then his own distorted voice, telling Greg Madden he was going to give him a chance to look death right in the eye.

Friday, December 22, 2006NOT A FREE PASS
As the family opened some gifts on Christmas Eve, Krystal and Babe exchanged glances when J.R. told them Dixie left to talk to Tad. Babe found her mama on the terrace, and guessed that she was scared that her slip-up gave Dixie what she needed. Krystal said Dixie was not going to stop until she convinced Tad, and then Adam's heart was going to break, “I might as well just put on my flame-retardant Santa suit, because my life is getting ready to burn to the ground.” She couldn’t blame Dixie; there were times she thought she just had to tell both those men the truth. Did loving Adam give her the right to keep a parent from his child? She had a beautiful, wonderful baby daughter, and Tad lost his. What if she could give him another chance at having what she had? Babe asked if she remembered her advice not to tell J.R. about Josh? She didn’t listen, and look what happened, “So maybe sometimes, a lie is better than the truth.” She urged Krystal not to tell Adam or Tad anything until they knew for sure what Dixie had done.
Colby was pleased with her gift, a jeweled Christmas tree for the first Christmas she was back after a long time, and commented that her mom hadn’t even sent a card. She told J.R. his present took some serious work, but it rocked, “I’m getting the 4-1-1 on Babe.” After filling her dad and brother in, Colby offered to sneak in there and get the camera if J.R. wanted her to. He told her no, just leave it, “I'm trying to give Babe a second chance, not a free pass to make a fool out of me again.”
COME QUICKLY
Dixie went to Wildwind and asked if Jamie or Julia had heard from Tad? She couldn’t reach him, and was really worried about him. She may have something that might help pull him out of this.
Tad sat alone in the cold, thinking back to when David had said Dixie risked a lot to keep this pregnancy secret from everyone, especially him, “Come on, Tad. You never wanted that kid in the first place.” He should blame himself!
Once outside, Dixie reached Tad, and asked him meet her at his house. She needed to talk to him, “Come quickly.”
Tad thought about Dixie telling him about the baby and asking him if he could forgive her, Brooke giving him the devastating news about the accident, and of seeing Dixie for the first time when she returned. He shook his head to clear the memories, and started off in the snow.
WILL THAT NEWS MAKE OTHER PEOPLE HAPPY?
Dixie went to Tad’s house, where she found the door ajar. As she went in, calling for him, a stranger came to the door; she was surprised when the kindly old priest called her by name and said he’d come to see her. Dixie was taken aback when Father Clarence seemed to know everything about her and the child she’d lost as a result of making the wrong choices. Floored when he said she had a gift for Tad, one she was most anxious to share, she asked how he knew that? “Oh, it’s my business to see what's in people's hearts,” he told her. When he said her daughter wasn’t lost, she was where God wanted her to be, Dixie couldn’t do that "God's will" stuff right now, “I think God made a big mistake.” Father Clarence said people make mistakes, but we have free will to decide what path we want to pursue, what path we choose to pursue, and the strength of a person's character is not measured by what happens to him, but rather by what he chooses to do with it. People make mistakes, they’re human, but God has also given us the gift of forgiveness and of mercy.
Dixie said she couldn’t give Tad his little girl back, but this Christmas, she thought that she could give him something that might make it somehow better, might heal the pain that's been caused by her loss. “You can't substitute one child for another,” Father Clarence wisely told her. The gift that would make Tad so happy was a child on the way, wasn’t it? “Will that news make other people happy? Can one person gain happiness at the expense of another person's pain?” That's the eternal question. People have been pondering it for centuries, and there are as many answers as there are consciences, as many answers as there are hearts. She would find her answer, and whatever she decided would be right. When she made her choice about her daughter, she was alone in the world, “At least you thought you were alone. You're no longer alone.” Tad was looking for his answers, just like she was looking for hers. Dixie watched him go; she turned to go back inside, and saw an ornament that wasn’t there a moment ago, a Christmas star.
THE BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT
Julia got a call and excitedly told her housemates she was getting the best Christmas present! The only friends she and Noah had made while on the run were going to be in the area, and would spend Christmas with them at Wildwind. She and Jamie went outside to hang a wreath, and saw Tad wandering in the snow. Tad wouldn’t stay, and Jamie went to get him a coat. Julia asked Tad if he’d made a wish on the Christmas star yet? She’d heard when you wish on it, it could bring miracles. Tad agreed, but a miracle could break your heart, too. Julia got a call from her friend, Linda, and excused herself. When she and Jamie returned, Tad was gone.
The housemates opened gifts from their Secret Santas before Jamie surprised Julia with plans for a state-of-the-art media room. Julia realized she had to make a gift run for her friends; Jamie said not without him, as the weather was getting worse.
WHAT NEEDS TO BE SAID
Dixie returned home and watched Little Adam open some gifts. As she turned away, Adam saw her and asked if something was wrong? Krystal came out and told her, “You don't have to say a word, Dixie. I'll say what needs to be said.”
As they watched their son, J.R. reached out and took Babe’s hand.
LOOKS LIKE YOU NEED A HAND
Tad went to the park and remembered watching as Madden’s body was discovered and unearthed. He turned to go, and fell in the snow. Father Clarence was there to lend a hand.

Tuesday, December 26, 2006OUR CHRISTMAS MIRACLE
After Zach and Ryan jokingly argued over train time, Kendall took pictures of the men in her life before opening gifts. Ryan’s gift to Kendall was a miniature chapel like the one they were locked in last Christmas Eve, the night she decided to go full-term with Spike. Kendall thought God knew how much they needed that little guy. Ryan agreed he was their Christmas miracle. Ryan gave Spike a gift his Aunt Erin bought and wrapped before her death, a tiny sweatshirt with a graphic of a penny below the word “Lucky”, to make sure he had all the luck in the world. Kendall suggested Ryan join them at Erica’s, but he said Jonathan was coming by.
ONE LEFT IN THE BAG
Jack welcomed Bianca and Miranda when they arrived with a bag of gifts; Bianca put a present under the tree for her mom.
WERE YOU REALLY GOING TO DO IT?
“You don't have to say a word, Dixie,” Krystal declared, “I should be the one to tell Adam.” When Adam asked what was going on, Krystal said Tad and Dixie were missing their daughter; surely he could understand.
Adam did, and offered his help to Dixie in finding Kate. After Babe told Adam that Little A was waiting for him, Dixie asked Krystal if she was really going to tell Adam the truth, that she was carrying Tad's little girl?
Colby spoke on the phone with a total lack of enthusiasm, wishing her mother a Merry Christmas. She got a text message from Sean, “Plan a bust. Erica Xmas no show.” J.R. thought Liza should have done more than call; she should be there, no matter what. He assured her she’d always have him.
Babe told Adam he had her mama's heart 100%, “And no one else ever has, and no one ever will. Please don't forget that.”
Krystal admitted she was carrying Tad’s child, and asked Dixie if she really wanted to destroy this family? “That's what he said,” Dixie realized.
TIME TO DELIVER THE GOOSE
Sean got a text message from Colby, “Time 2 deliver the goose,” and said he’d be right back.
OH, JACK
Before leaving for her date with Palmer, Myrtle insisted to Erica that Jack loved her and wanted her to come home. Sean showed up with another gift, and an FYI—Jack missed her like crazy and wanted her to come home. Erica was pleased when Josh told her how Jack had come to him and said if he wanted to be a part of her life, he wouldn't stand in the way. Now, if she wanted to be with Jack, he wouldn’t stand in her way, either.
IT’S MY FRIEND, LINDA!
On the way to buy gifts for her friends, Jamie and Julia saw a car that had skidded off the road; Julia was horrified to see that the accident victims were her friends, Linda and Jim.
NOT EASY TO ADMIT
Colby got another -*test*-('") message from Sean, “Goose gift aid w/Kane,” and sighed at least somebody was going to have a good Christmas.
Marian told Colby how much her mother missed her. Colby was skeptical, but her Mimi said Liza knew she made a big mistake keeping her away from her father, and felt she needed this time alone with him because of all the Christmases they’d been apart. She said it wasn’t easy to admit you're wrong, especially when you've hurt the person that you love most in all the world.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Jack was pleased and surprised to see Erica and Josh. He gestured for them to come in, and Erica went into his arms. Josh smiled as they wished each other a Merry Christmas. Sean text messaged Colby, “Erica home, OWE U big time!”
IT CAME UPON A MIDNIGHT CLEAR
Ryan and Jonathan accompanied Annie and Emma to Christmas Eve service. As the congregation sang, Emma went to Ryan and Jonathan, holding up her arms to them. Jonathan picked her up, and the brothers held her between them.
THE CHILD IS GONE
Tad cried out in pain, thinking he’d sprained his ankle, and was surprised to see the chapel he hadn’t seen before. Father Clarence knew Tad was feeling lost, but it wouldn’t last forever. By the time the night was over, he would have found his way. Realizing the Baby Jesus had been taken from the manger, he exclaimed the child was gone! Tad thought he meant his daughter, and was taken aback when the priest knew Kate’s name. Father Clarence commented that something happened to that poor child every year; he found the figure, and asked for Tad’s help in repairing the broken manger. After Tad flashed on a coffin instead of the manger, he told Father Clarence he shouldn't be allowed to touch anything sacred. His hands were tainted, and he just didn’t belong here—he’d done horrible things, evil things. Father Clarence told him we are all sinners but God forgives. Tad said he was right, we’re all sinners, “But mine is murder.” Father Clarence spoke of J.R., and noted Tad must have given up on him by now. When Tad said never, he was still his son and a good father would never turn his back on him, Father Clarence agreed, “God's a pretty good father, and remember, Tad, you're God's child, also.”
As Tad prayed for God to watch over and protect Kate, he heard sirens and saw red flashing lights.
PLEASE SEND US KATE
Dixie asked if Krystal had been comparing notes with a kind, old priest? Krystal didn’t know what she was talking about, and Dixie agreed she wouldn’t tell Adam on a holiday; Krystal asked for her promise that if she did decide to spill, she’d let her tell Adam and Tad.
J.R. gave Babe a large box, and she gasped in delight as she saw the framed oil painting of the café they went to in the South of France.
Dixie went out on the terrace and looked up at the stars, “Please, God, send me a sign. What do I do? Do I tell Tad he has another child?”
At the chapel, Tad replaced the Baby Jesus in the manger. He started to leave, and was surprised that his ankle was no longer painful. He walked outside to look up at the stars. “Please, send us Kate,” he wished.
DID YOU HEAR THAT?
After Jim and Linda were taken away by ambulance, Julia asked Jamie if he heard something in the car? They were stunned to find a beautiful little girl, apparently unhurt, buckled into a car seat in the back seat.

Wednesday, December 27, 2006LOVE REALLY CAN WORK
After Erica returned home, Sean worried that she'd thank Jack for the gifts and he'd have no clue. Colby told him to catch up, "No way Erica and your Uncle Jack are just talking." As they built a snowman, Sean said she really blew him away-she totally pulled off the whole Erica and Uncle Jack love connection! Colby grinned that love really could work. Nonetheless, Sean worried it could blow up at any second.
Erica woke up in Jack's arms, and he told her how much he loved her. Erica smiled, "Don't tell me. Show me."
As Colby and Sean played video games, he said she scored with his Uncle Jack and Erica. What's up with her other gig? Did she get the proof that her brother can't trust Babe? Colby said no, but there was no way she was going to let anyone ever hurt her big brother again.
IT BEGINS
Zarf was in the Valley Inn bar when Babe came in with her bodyguard; he kissed her hand and called her his kindred spirit, cosmic twin. He said he was ready to find his destiny, but it wasn't just his destiny, it was hers, too. Each of them was on a path that required courage and honesty in order to achieve a genuine happiness, but they couldn't do it alone, "If you have the strength to find your destiny, you'll give me the strength to find mine." He looked at the door as Josh and Bianca came in and told Babe, "It begins." Babe was angry Zarf invited her there, for her fate, to get her together with Josh. She confronted Josh about going behind her back with Zarf; Zarf and Bianca went to a table to get out of the line of fire. Josh reminded Babe that no one forced her to come, just like no one forced her to love him. But if pretending she kicked and screamed the whole way, if that's what made her feel better, go for it. Babe insisted life with J.R. was exactly what she wanted. She walked out, managing to lose her bodyguard.
YOU ARE MY AUNT JULIA
Julia was devastated to learn that Jim hadn't survived his injuries, and worried that her friends' daughter was going to need someone to look after her. The little girl woke up and realized that Julia was her mommy's friend. Julia and Jamie took the child, Kathy, to the park to get her out of the hospital atmosphere, and tried to question her about family friends or relatives. Kathy said her mommy had told her she was her Aunt Julia. Julia's pager beeped, and she told Kathy that her mommy was waking up. Kathy excitedly said she wanted to see her, and they left the park.
I GUESS YOU'D CALL IT FAITH
J.R. told Little Adam that his mama went to look after her pet rock star, but she was going to be back real soon to read him one of those books that Santa brought, "Back home safe." Krystal overheard and assured J.R. that Babe was safe; her new best friend, George, had her back, front, and side.
As she and Adam shared a hug, Krystal saw Dixie watching them. When the doorbell rang, Dixie opened the door and was relieved to see Tad. She asked where he'd been, but Tad only pulled her close for a hug. He told her everything had seemed so bleak, but then the most amazing thing happened. Krystal came to the foyer door as Tad said next Christmas and the Christmas after that and the Christmas after that, they were going to be positively surrounded by the sound of little running feet and a little girl's laughter. Krystal assumed there was a new lead on Kate, but Tad said no. When he and Dixie went to talk, Adam felt badly that he and Krystal had so much to look forward to, and Tad had a child he might never know.
Tad told Dixie of meeting Father Clarence and coming away with renewed hope. He was glad to learn Dixie had also met Father Clarence, taking that as a sign that he really existed, he was real, so his hope was just as real. Learning that they had both wished on the Christmas star, Tad said it helped them find each other and it would help them find Kate, too. She was okay for now, being taken care of, but she was waiting for them to find her and when they did, they were going to bring her home. He smiled his first real smile in months, "It's going to happen. I know it."
When J.R. said he wanted to trust Babe, Adam thought that's what nanny-cams were for. J.R. didn't like telling Colby to keep that camera running, "But I have to be sure about Babe."
Tad and Dixie were stunned when Adam asked them to be godparents to Charlotte. After they accepted, Dixie told Krystal she meant what she said before; she would never tell Tad or anyone else that Charlotte was his daughter.
YOU DON'T FALL IN, YOU CAN'T FALL OUT
Erica and Jack went to the park, and Jack brought up the Christmas concert. Caught off-guard, Erica asked if he meant Handel's "Messiah"? Jack agreed, it wouldn't be Christmas without it, would it? Didn't she want to go? Erica admitted she was already invited; Jeff asked her to go. Seeing Jack's expression, she says she knew how he felt about Jeff, so if he wanted to talk about it… Jack said no, what he wanted to do was spend the holidays with his wife. He knew they had a lot to talk about, but not right now.
Sean and Colby planned their New Year's Eve; Sean said two people were back in love, but she got the real prize. Colby didn't know, "I think your Uncle Jack and Erica scored pretty big." Sean agreed, if you're into that kind of thing. But the good news about love, "You don't fall in, you can't fall out."
I'LL BE WATCHING YOU
In the parking garage, as Babe dropped her purse and bent to pick up its contents, someone watched. Babe heard something and looked up, frightened.
WHOSE LITTLE GIRL ARE YOU?
Jeff put Linda's chances at 50-50, and told Julia they had to wait until she was stabilized before they could operate. Julia went in to see her friend, and assured her Kathy was perfect; they were both going to be just fine.
Tad came up as Jamie was playing with Kathy; he smiled at her and asked, "Hey, beautiful. Whose little girl are you?"

Thursday, December 28, 2006I’M THE ONE HERE NOW IN RYAN’S LIFE
Kendall brought Spike to have a picnic with Ryan at the boathouse, and wasn’t pleased when Emma rushed up and hugged Ryan’s leg. When Ryan and Emma went ice skating, Kendall asked Annie if she was still falling for Ryan? Annie said yes, “So I look a little like his ex. Greenlee's long gone. I'm the one here now in Ryan's life.” Whatever he needed from her, she was there. Whenever he reached out, she was there. Kendall asked, “And he has already reached out to you?” Annie agreed, “Yeah.”
JUST LET IT GO
At the new house, Zach again flashed on the beautiful dark-haired young woman in the mist. As he heard her scream, he saw a dark-haired woman come through one of the doors. “Oh, my god,” he gasped. The woman turned, and Zach saw it was Bianca. Seeing his state of agitation, Bianca knew something was going on, something that had to do with him and the murders, and begged him to tell her what had him so upset. Zach said that Simone's dead. Erin's dead. And what do they have? They have gardenias and white ribbons. He had this dream every night, “I don't know why, I don't know what it's about, but she needs my help, and I try to save her, and I can't do it.” When Bianca asked why he was holding himself responsible for some sick freak's crimes, Zach told her he was the only one who could stop it. He knew the dream wasn’t connected to the murders because he’d had it before Simone died, but this was about him, about his past. Bianca urged him to just let it go.
LET’S GO, FUNNY MAN!
Linda was relieved Kathy really wasn't hurt, but devastated that Jim hadn’t survived. When Julia asked who she should call, Linda said there was no one; Kathy was all she had. Julia assured her Kathy could stay with her until she’s well, and then she could stay with them, too, for as long as she wanted.
Tad was showing Kathy a coin trick when Julia came out to bring the little girl to see her mommy. Jamie explained that Julia's friend Linda was her mom. She and her husband and the little girl were on their way to see Julia, and then their car spun out. She’s fine, but her dad wasn’t so lucky, and Linda could go either way. Kathy gave Linda the coin, explaining the funny man gave it to her. Kathy was pleased she’d be staying with her Aunt Julia until her mom was better, and asked if her daddy would stay with them, too?
Jamie was relieved when Tad told him he just felt better about life in general, “And something tells me that wherever she is, Kate is going to be okay. She'll be loved, and she'll be happy.” Kate has a good life somewhere, “And if she's meant to find us or vice versa, it's going to happen.” He was just going to keep the faith and keep looking.
When Julia came out with Kathy to take her home, Kathy held out her hand to Tad, “Let's go, funny man.” Father Clarence watched as Kathy took his hand, and they left with Jamie and Julia.
GEORGE, IS THAT YOU?
Hearing a noise and approaching footsteps in the parking garage, Babe called out, “George, is that you?” Josh rushed up, followed by George, and she gestured there was someone over here. Josh didn’t find anything, and saw that Babe was pale and dizzy; he insisted on taking her to his room to check her blood pressure. They left, and Zarf stepped out of the shadows.
X-RATED EQUALS POWER FOR J.R
At the Montgomery house, Colby turned on her laptop and fired up the nasty-cam. If she caught Babe and Josh, J.R. was going to have all the power. As Josh brought Babe into his room, Sean noted that X-rated equaled power for J.R. As they watched Josh help Babe lie down on the bed, Colby exclaimed, “Babe! You skank. You're married to my brother!” Babe insisted she had to get home to her family. She got up, dizzy, and stumbled; Josh rushed to her and knocked the disguised camera to the floor. Colby exclaimed Babe's in bed with Josh, “They're pumping, and I'm on the dust bunnies!” Sean stopped Colby from rushing over to Josh’s room, and she sighed that she was all J.R. had.
Babe assured George that J.R. didn’t have to know that any of this ever happened. Josh said if she was ticked at him, tell him to go to Hell—don’t run away from the guy that’s hired to protect her! He just wanted her to be safe, if not with him, with anyone, someone she trusts. “And what if that someone is J.R.?” Babe asked.
WHAT ARE YOU HIDING FROM?
J.R. tried to reach Babe again, but got her voice mail. Disturbed, he said she went to check on that whacked-out rock star hours ago, “Where the hell are you?” When Zarf showed up, J.R. was annoyed when he asked if he really believed Babe belonged with him. Zarf said he was more attuned to his wife than J.R. He noted the anger rolled off of him in waves, and he’d come to learn what Babe saw in him. What was he hiding from? J.R. shouted at him to get the hell out!
YOU ARE LOVED
Josh gave Babe a silver compact mirror with the inscription, "You are loved." He called it to the point and anonymous so she could actually carry it, and every time she used it, she’d be looking at the woman he’d always love. He didn’t know if he was going to leave town; he couldn’t go anywhere until he knew that she was going to be safe. Babe left with George, and Josh got a call.
TOMORROW, I RISK EVERYTHING
Babe returned home to find Zarf, who told her he was on the brink of completing his destiny, and urged her to come with him to find her own. Babe insisted her destiny was with J.R. Zarf thought she was afraid to change, to take a risk. He understood, but he was done with it. Babe called that great, she was proud of him, but Zarf sighed she had no idea what he was talking about. Well, it didn’t matter, “I take courage from you and Bianca. Tomorrow, I risk everything to fulfill my destiny.”
YOU DON’T WANT TO HEAR IT?
Josh called Kendall and said he had the DNA -*test*-('") results, and the answers to Emma McDermott’s family tree. He met her at the boathouse and guessed she didn’t want to hear it, “Emma is Ryan's daughter.”

Friday, December 29, 2006HE EXCITES ME
At Fusion, Bianca asked Kendall how Zach was; before Kendall could answer, Bianca was taken aback to get a call from Maggie. Upset that Maggie wasn’t ready to get back together, Bianca took comfort in her sister’s arms. Kendall was thrilled to hear that Binks had a date, until she learned it was with Zarf. Bianca admitted that Zarf excited her.
EMMA?
When Josh saw Ryan at BJ’s with Emma and Annie, he assumed Kendall had told Ryan that he was the little girl’s father. He realized Ryan didn’t know, and was moved when Ryan said if he had a daughter, he’d want her to be exactly like Emma. Ryan knew it was weird, but he saw a lot of Spike in Emma and vice versa. Asked to join then, Josh said no, he was just going to get some takeout, take it back to Fusion, “I think Kendall especially could use some help right now.” Ryan, Annie and Jonathan agreed to spend New Year’s Eve together with Spike and Emma.
HOW CAN I BE NERVOUS?
Di came downstairs dressed for an evening out, and asked Aidan if she looked like a woman who was about to be murdered? Because if she played her cards right, some twisted sicko was going to try to kill her tonight. Aidan promised he wasn’t getting anywhere near her. Di just wanted to be close enough to see the look in his eyes when Aidan took him down. At Wildwind, Amanda and Del argued over his taking the door off of her bedroom, supposedly to oil the hinges.
PARTY PREP
As soft classical music played, we saw a woman’s dressing table with a full array of cosmetics and brushes, hairbrushes and mirrors, alongside a vase of flowers and a tall wine glass. A woman reached for the hair brush and brushed her blonde hair before taking a sip of wine. She set it back on the table, the rim of the glass showing traces of lipstick. The woman, her face still unseen, applied lipstick and blush, and perfume from a fine crystal bottle. She wore a silk kimono, and removed a garment bag from a hook on the door.
MISS WILDWIND 2007
As the group at Wildwind made Kathy feel welcome, Julia told Jamie that unless they could get Linda’s bleeding under control, it didn’t look good. Jamie was sorry, “Poor Kathy.” Julia agreed, and worried that she would go to foster care, to total strangers after losing her mom and dad suddenly. Linda had to pull through this! Jamie reassured her that Linda would make it.
Amanda returned with Kathy in her new outfit, and called her Miss Wildwind 2007. Aidan and Di returned with a big box of toys, and Di baked a very special New Year's Eve cake just for her, a good portion of which Del ate. As Jamie held her, Julia said she knew all children are wonderful, but Kathy was special, wasn’t she?
Aidan asked Di if she was sure she was up for this? Di agreed, she wanted to catch this guy tonight.
THEY NEED TO KNOW
When Kendall told Josh that Bianca had a date, he asked, “Really? Who’s the lucky lady?” Told it was Zarf, he called that impressive; Bianca was pleased at his reaction. Bianca left, and Josh guessed Kendall wasn’t going to tell Ryan he was Emma’s father. She agreed she wasn’t, but Josh felt Ryan and Annie had a right to know.
GO FIND US A KILLER
Tad met Zach at the boathouse and said he found out he was a bigger son of a bitch than he thought he was, and he had more enemies than Caligula. When Zach says none of it was connected to the murders, Tad insisted he didn’t know that, and had to give him more time. Either tell him what he’s after, tell him about the gardenias and the ribbons, “Or I give you my word, I can't help you.” This was very personal, thorough and meticulous, “And unless you tell me why, unless you tell me what you did to cause it, then whoever this is, is going to go on killing innocent women, women that we care about.” Jonathan arrived and overheard the conversation; Tad gave him his word they would catch Erin’s killer.
When Zach said to meet him again tomorrow, Tad asked why he should do that? “Once you get the answers, you’ll understand,” Zach replied. Tad got a call and told Zach it turns out their meeting might not be so pointless after all. He told Zach that she went over the side of a balcony and died on the rocks below. She was wearing a white ribbon around her neck. She had gardenias in her hand. He was right, he understood, “I know who she was. I know the connection between you and these murders.” Like it or not, they were going to have to talk about Amelia. “Now that I know how she died and what's probably in that sealed inquest report, the only thing that I expect from you is to fill in the gaps.”
I LIKE HIM, TOO
Annie and Emma agreed to spend New Year’s Eve with Jonathan and Ryan. Annie asked Jonathan how he was doing? Jonathan said he was fine, and Emma declared that she liked Ryan. Annie laughed that she liked him, too.
I’LL START RIGHT NOW
Ryan arrived at Fusion to hear Kendall and Josh arguing about Annie. He guessed it wasn’t your standard sibling battle, not when they were yelling about Annie. When Kendall insisted it was no big deal, Josh warned, “Yeah, well, if you don't tell Ryan and Annie, I'll start right now.”
ZARF?
Bianca kissed Miranda and wished her a very Happy New Year before Claire took her to Myrtle’s. She looked at her watch and exclaimed she was very late! She looked in a mirror and groaned, “Oh, boy. I have some serious work to do. What am I doing? I'm acting as if this is a real date.”
Fully dressed now, Bianca heard the knock at the door, and smiled as she opened the door. Her look turned to something else entirely as she looked her date up and down and asked, “Zarf?” Zarf, dressed to the nines as a woman in a black evening dress, full makeup and jewelry, smiled at her.

Tuesday, January 2, 2007I THINK YOU OWE ME A BIGGER PICTURE
Exasperated, Tad exclaimed, "Oh, come on, Zach! You gave me a job to do, look into your past. I've done it. I've got your connection to the Fusion murders." It all fits, the white ribbon, the gardenias, the fact that Erin and Simone died in their 20s the same way she did, "I think you owe me a bigger picture." Zach asked if Tad knew who she was. Tad was sorry, that had to be tough for him. Zach felt it was a message to him, and Kendall was the real target. Tad questioned who would want to dredge up the worst moment of his life, torture him with it, kill two innocent people and then go after Kendall? Zach said no one knew about this, not even his wife.
At the house, Zach stood on the balcony and recalled the woman laughing, saying she loved him more than anything in the world. No one and nothing could take him away from her.
YOU HAVEN'T HEARD MY DEAL YET
Ryan demanded to know what Kendall had against Annie. Kendall admitted she didn't think Annie was good enough for him, and he was still vulnerable, grieving for Erin. Ryan said she was Spike's mother and was going to be in his life forever, but she didn't run it, and she didn't get a say in who he spent it with.
When Josh insisted she couldn't stop him from telling Ryan that he was Emma's father, Kendall offered a deal-keep his mouth shut, and she'd get Babe away from J.R. for him. Josh accused her of wanting to run everyone's lives, and realized Zach didn't know, either. Kendall got a call from Zach, saying he had to see her, and telling her to meet him at the new house.
ROMANTIC, MAYBE
Colby screened the spy-cam video for J.R., pointing out where Babe came in with Josh and went over to the bed, "This is where it gets romantic, maybe." As J.R. shook his head, Babe came in and asked what they were looking at? J.R. covered, and told Babe she looked fantastic. Was she going to ConFusion's New Year's Eve celebration? Babe said no, she had an intimate dinner planned for two right there with him. She went to check on things in the kitchen, and Colby wished Babe hadn't shown up at Josh's-it was making him miserable! She suggested maybe there was some other explanation. Maybe it was completely innocent. J.R. declared, "I'm not going to settle for 'maybes'."
J.R. wondered why Babe was avoiding the party? Was there someone she didn't want to see? Was it Josh? Babe said that was over, and Josh got it. Actually, he was thinking about leaving town. J.R. asked how she knew that? Did they talk? Where did this talk take place? Babe explained what had happened, how George had been with them the entire time, and J.R. wanted to believe her. He suggested she go to ConFusion, make an appearance while he got some rest. They shared a kiss for New Year's, and J.R. instructed Bob, the bodyguard, to let him know if his wife went anywhere near Josh Madden.
MY NAME IS ZOË
Stunned, Bianca shook her head as she said, "Zarf." Zarf smiled, "Zoë. My name is Zoë. I've wanted you to meet me, and thought the beginning of the New Year… What could be more perfect?" Bianca had no idea what to say. Zoë explained she thought she could share the truth with her, and now Bianca saw who she really was. Bianca slapped her and agreed she did, accusing her of dressing up like a woman to conquer the lesbian. Did he have any idea how insulting that was? Zoë told her how she'd been acting her entire life, since she'd realized at about age 5 that there has been a mistake, and she was a girl. She had pretended all of her life to be the little boy her father wanted; eventually, her cover morphed from Freddie into Zarf, "And I hid behind those personas my whole life. I hid from everyone, until tonight." The riddle, that when Bianca realized why she was attracted to her, she'd know her secret, "This is it. I am my secret, Zoë. I am a woman, Bianca. I am a woman who loves women. I am a lesbian. And I love you."
THE NEW YEAR'S EVE WE NEVER FORGET
As Jack popped a cork on the bottle of cider, Sean thought he needed to know something before he and Erica got started-it was big! Erica came into the room wearing a red evening dress with a necklace of five golden rings at her throat. Jack was puzzled when she asked, "Is it everything you expected?" She called the necklace her favorite piece of jewelry, and Jack questioned who gave it to her. Sean covered, telling his uncle it was a perfect choice. When Erica left the room, Jack was upset to hear what Sean and Colby had done and thought he should come clean; Sean discouraged it.
When Colby arrived, Erica listened as she and Sean talked about what they'd done. She called Val and gave him instructions, then told Jack this would be the New Year's Eve they never forgot.
GREAT NEWS FOR MOST OF US, RIGHT?
J.R. watched TV as the announcer exclaimed, "Oh, keep the camera on that couple! They must know that when you ring in the New Year with someone, that's who you spend the year with. Great news for most of us, right?"
Babe went to ConFusion with Bob in tow. She looked around, and Josh was the first person she saw.
IF HE WERE MY CHILD
As he walked home through the park with Spike, Ryan saw Tad in the boathouse. Tad steered the conversation to Zach, and wondered if he supplied protection for both Kendall and Spike? Surprised, Ryan asked if he thought his son was in danger? Tad explained that Zach felt he had a connection to the murders. He didn't know yet what kind of connection, "But until I do, if he were my child, I would get him away from Zach and away from Kendall, get him out of their house and keep him with me."
I COULDN'T HAVE DONE THAT
When Kendall arrived, Zach said there were things he hadn't told her, things she needed to know. He showed her the picture of the dark-haired young woman, and said it was his mom. He worshipped her, he loved her, and he couldn't have done that… He couldn't live with that. Kendall asked what he was talking about? Zach admitted, "I think I killed my mom."

Wednesday, January 3, 2007YOUR LITTLE GIFTS TO ME
When Jack brought Erica to the yacht for a romantic New Year’s Eve, she gave him every opportunity to come clean about the gifts he hadn’t sent, but Jack chose not to tell her. He was dismayed when several performers showed up, representing 7 swans a-swimming, 8 maids a-milking, 9 ladies dancing, 10 lords a-leaping, 11 pipers and a dozen drummers. Jack put a stop to it, and said those presents weren’t from him, they were her little gifts to him. She was trying to get back at him. Erica agreed, “You’re damn right I am.”
NO MORE PLAYING FAIR
At ConFusion, Amanda and Babe shared a hug and wished each other a Happy New Year. Amanda remarked that Babe was there, with her husband at home, and turned to look at Josh. As Babe greeted some guests, Josh caught her eye.
Di thought they should hang out there for a while so people would know there was a Fusion gal in the building, and then she’d head upstairs; she’d call him the minute she saw or heard anything suspicious. When he kissed her, Di thanked him for the good-luck action, but he said that wasn’t for good luck, that was a "I won't let you do anything stupid" kiss.
Amanda asked what was with Josh, and Babe said nothing. Amanda wondered if she was sure about that? When Babe pulled the small mirror from her bag, Amanda read the inscription, “You are loved,” and guessed it wasn’t a present from her loving husband? Babe admitted it was from Josh at Christmas. Amanda said she accepted it, “You are not as done with Josh as you claim.”
When Jeff came in, Josh said he made a resolution this year to honor Babe’s decision, but it wasn’t easy. Jeff advised, “Make a new resolution—resolve to win her.” Erica went back to Jack; he never should've let it happen. Josh said yeah, but he plays fair. Jeff asked if he wanted to know his New Year's resolution? “If the occasion ever presents itself again, no more playing fair.”
Josh grabbed a drunk who noted Babe was a Fusion chick, and could be the next to die. Bob hauled him out, and Josh told Babe he’d made a new resolution that she needed to hear.
Di and Aidan staged a fight before she went upstairs to implement their plan.
Jeff had to leave after getting an emergency call, and urged Josh if he wanted Babe, to go after her. Amanda told Josh if Babe didn’t still love him, she wouldn’t carry the compact around.
BECAUSE THE KILLER KNOWS
Kendall urged Zach to share with her what was troubling him, and he related how he believed he had been responsible for his mother’s death. When she insisted it wasn’t his fault and he had to let it go, Zach said he couldn’t let it go because the killer knew.
I’M GRAY
Bianca couldn’t give Zoe the response she was hoping for, and said she couldn’t love her—she didn’t want to love her! Clearly upset, Zoe said she was wrong, “You can't see my soul, but I can see you clearly now.” Bianca asked why, because she was wearing a dress, she was in her shoes? Zoe retorted, “Because you worship labels, images, and expectations just like all the other narrow-minded people on this planet.” She defines herself as lesbian, so it's all black and white to her. “Well, guess what? I'm gray, and you refuse to see anything outside of your slightly more expensive palette of labels.” Bianca said she was wrong, and had no right to judge her, to tell her she has any idea what she feels or what she believes! “I don't know who the hell you are, but whoever you are, you're not playing fair.” Whatever she was going through, she couldn’t make it right, “Only you can do that.” Zoe plaintively asked, “I need you to see me.” Bianca replied, “Do whatever you need to do. Just leave me out of it.”
Zoe insisted she was the same person she was on that roof. Her eyes say the same things, her heart says the same things, “When I met you, it was like the weight of that lie dropped away. You say you don't love me, but you're feeling something right now. You wouldn't react so strongly if you didn't.” There was something between them, and it was driving her crazy! Saying she was done dealing with this, Bianca opened the door and told Zoe to leave, now. When Zoe left, Bianca leaned against the door and cried. On the other side of the door, Zoe broke down in tears.
BASED ON A LIE
Jack assumed she knew he didn’t give her those presents before Christmas; she was angry and wanted to punish him, and he got it. Erica insisted their wonderful Christmas together was based on a lie. Jack disagreed, and said he’d apologized, and thought Sean was just trying to help them. Erica felt the issue wasn’t whether he knew about the presents, but that he didn't send them at all. His wife was at a hotel, and he didn't care enough to do anything to bring her home, “You've proven that you don't really care about me at all.” She finally understood that she didn’t understand him at all! They heard a knock at the door, and Jeff came in. He told Erica he came as soon as she called. Was everything all right? Erica agreed, “Yes, it is now.” Annoyed, Jack asked why she called him? Erica shrugged she needed another date, and asked Jeff if he was available? Jeff agreed, “Yes, I am.” Erica wished him a Happy New Year and kissed him before asking, “Can you get me out of here?” Jeff agreed he’d be glad to, and Jack watched them leave together.
TO OLD FRIENDS
Bianca came into ConFusion and ran into a friend, Leslie, who was pleased that Bianca was back rather than in Paris with the love of her life. When Leslie said she was going to stay home tonight and watch the ball drop, Bianca was awfully glad she changed her mind; they toasted to old friends.
As Amanda and Del counted down the seconds till midnight, Babe turned to find Josh standing beside her.
A GOOD REASON?
Di was in the Fusion office when Zoe came in to retrieve the sketch she’d done. As she started to leave with it, Aidan grabbed Zoe from behind and declared, “You better have a good reason for being up here.”
