Thursday, October 26, 2006 NEWS FLASH—IT’S TOO LATE! Jonathan overheard Amanda telling Del she was in love with him, and asked if it was true? Amanda asked if that would be so terrible, the two of them in love? When Jonathan said he wasn’t in love wirth her, Amanda laughed it off, claiming she’d just told Del that to get dumb-ass Del to back off. Jonathan said she knew he wasn’t over Lily, and didn’t know if he ever would be. Amanda knew; she was front and center for their entire marriage. Maybe she should give up this gig and go into acting? She called and left a message for Babe that she’d messed up really bad and needed to talk. Jonathan came back to find her crying. He said he cared about her a lot, and that was why their physical relationship had to end, but he still needed to be her friend. He had to make sure her heart didn’t get broken. Amanda sadly gave him a news flash—it was too late. She admitted she wanted more than friendship, but would take what she could get. CAN WE GET IT BACK? As she and Zach had lunch, Kendall said it was really weird, “It’s like we’re two strangers on a really bad first date.” She wanted to be comfortable around him, but wasn’t. Zach took her to the yacht where she first forgave him, and said when he told her he wanted to be with her forever, he meant it. Kendall sighed that time felt like it was ages ago, and Zach asked, “Can we get it back?” Kendall agreed she wanted it back, but was just so scared of being hurt again. Zach thought he was more scared than she was. He didn’t want to hurt her. After Zach silenced her with a kiss, the lights went out. Zach swore that wasn’t him this time! He checked the wiring, and fell back when the current shocked him; he noted nothing said romance like an electric shock. He promised from here on out, it's nothing but good memories. He’d erase all the bad ones. Kendall didn’t know if that was possible, but they’d sure as hell try. A LITTLE CLEANSING As Marian talked about houses for Babe and J.R. to look at, Babe and Josh looked at each other across the room, both remembering when she admitted she loved him. Josh thought it was a joke when J.R. offered him a job with Chandler Enterprises, but J.R. insisted it was a real offer. Josh turned him down, and Babe asked J.R. what that was about? He guessed his conscience just needed a little cleansing after Colby pulled a number on him, and he went along with it for a little while. He was just glad that he said no! As Babe thanked him for making the effort, Josh came up and asked, “Too late to change my mind?” Babe left the room to collect herself, and sighed as she touched her wedding ring. SLIDE SHOW David sat at his computer, looking at a slide show of images of his enemies. He looked at the framed pictures on his desk, his daughters, Babe and Leora, and sighed as he glared at J.R.’s mug shot before getting up and leaving. TAMING OF THE SHREW Sean brought Colby some papers to help with her term paper, suggesting they start over as friends and assuring her he’d help make her junior year suck a little less. Sydney came in and suggested they turn their two-person study team into a threesome, a study group. When Colby left the room to get Sean a soda, he warned Syd not to spread lies about Colby or diss her again. Colby listened from the tunnels and steamed as Sydney swore it wouldn’t happen again. When she returned, she took a small golden globe from the desk and slipped it into Syd’s backpack, the first step in her plan for revenge. FROM ONE BOTTOM FEEDER TO ANOTHER As J.R. laid out the options Josh would have with the company, David came in and asked if this was really the Valley Inn, or an alternate universe? J.R. told Hayward to drop dead. Babe returned and froze in place when David went on, “I got to tell you, J.R., I've terribly misjudged you. I've always had you pegged as a bottom feeder, but here you are, taking the high road. Sitting down to a civilized meal with the man who had an affair with your wife.”

Friday, October 27, 2006 YOU DIDN’T GIVE US A CHOICE When Ryan noted the law was on Annie’s side and the Martins would lose, Tad said they asked nicely, they refused, so here they are, “You didn’t give us a choice.” Judge Walsh reminded Jack he promised this wouldn’t take long. He read his brief, and they were here to request a DNA -*test*-('") to determine who produced this bundle of joy, Emma McDermott. Jack said they believed after Ms. Martin was coerced into signing over her daughter to Dr. Madden, he took that child to New York City on his private jet and placed the child with Annie McDermott. Annie exclaimed he didn’t place Emma with her—she gave birth to her! Jack said the basis of this hearing was a discovery made by a doctor at Pine Valley Hospital, a DNA -*test*-('") showing that Tad Martin and Emma McDermott were father and daughter. Dixie pleaded with the judge to order the -*test*-('"), insisting it was the only option she had left. After Livia argued there was no legal basis for ordering a mother to prove she was the mother of her own child, Ryan noted if the -*test*-('") they gave the judge was 99.99%, the supposed accuracy, Tad and Dixie would be suing for custody right now. Jack admitted the source of that -*test*-('") was somewhat tainted, and produced the -*test*-('") Annie had done in New York showing she was no blood relationship to the child she claims she delivered. Annie explained she had the -*test*-('") done when she was fighting her ex-husband for custody of her daughter, and the lab report had to be an error. Livia produced an eyewitness to Emma’s birth, a labor and delivery nurse, who brought a copy of the baby’s footprints, taken immediately after Emma was delivered. Livia offered a recent set of Emma’s footprints; the two were an exact match. Judge Walsh felt this wasn’t only about science. If the Martins were proven to be the child’s birth parents, he wasn’t crazy about the idea of reversing an adoption more than four years later. Both sides presented their cases, and the judge felt the law required that he deny the petition for a new -*test*-('"). Dixie hurried out, and told Tad this was an endless nightmare! What could they do now? Tad said they’d do what they had to do. When Livia thanked him for setting aside his personal feelings and delivering an unbiased ruling, Judge Walsh agreed the law was on her client's side, although he couldn’t say the same for logic. Alone, the judge made a call to Child and Family Services, “There's a woman living here in Pine Valley with a child who may not belong to her. I'd like you to investigate.” HOW DOES IT FEEL As Kendall and Zach wondered how to get back to where they were, they received a call that Spike was running a high fever. They rushed home, where Zach agreed with the pediatrician that Spike was better off at home rather than a germ-filled ER. Later, Kendall was relieved when her son’s fever went down, and thanked Zach. As she said she loved him, Del came to the door to ask Zach how it felt to get away with murder. ALMOST NORMAL Babe was horrified when David insisted to J.R. that she was having an affair with Josh, and said she loved her husband. Urged to tell the truth, Babe called David the worst thing that had ever happened to her. David asked J.R. how he was going to stay married to this woman when he knew she’d been had by another man? J.R. called him a lying, manipulative, twisted freak, “You almost make me appear normal.” When David challenged Josh to tell J.R., Josh denied it, and Babe wished her father would disappear forever. Back home, J.R. assured Babe he loved her and trusted her with everything in him. He kissed her, but Babe imagined herself in Josh’s arms. She pulled back, and J.R. asked what was wrong? WHERE’S THE LOVE IN THAT? Jonathan worried that justice wouldn’t be served, and vowed if the judge ordered a DNA -*test*-('"), he was getting Annie and Emma out of there before the results came back. He didn’t care if Emma was Tad and Dixie’s child! Erin sent Emma to the kitchen for a marshmallow crispy, and Jonathan said if Tad and Dixie really loved Emma, they wouldn't rip her away from the only security she'd ever had, “Where's the love in that?” Annie and Ryan came in and delivered the good news. Annie went to give Emma a kiss, but Emma was gone. THAT DRINK WAS YOUR LAST David returned home and poured himself a drink. He knocked it back and was startled to see Josh, who told him, “Babe just got her wish—you gone, forever. That drink was your last. You just killed yourself.”

pika- 11-02-2006

Monday, October 30, 2006 YOU AND SPIKE Kendall was upset when Del pitched his book on the Madden murder to Zach, portraying him as the story’s hero. Del reminded Kendall of their collaboration trashing her monster mother. Zach wasn’t interested in the book; he wished Del good night and good luck. He left, and Kendall likened Del to a cartoon vulture before taking Spike from Zach’s arms. When Zach felt she was trying to protect Spike from him, and Kendall admitted Del brought up everything that she wanted forgotten, and apologized. They agreed they would work things out, and that the time was right to buy a home of their own. Kendall detailed her dream house before asking Zach what he wanted more than anything in a house; she was pleased when he replied, “You and Spike.” When Kendall was getting ready for bed, Zach took his drink out into the courtyard and looked up at the night sky. Kendall saw him through the window, and picked up Del’s outline. She looked at it and then back at her husband before going in to bed. WE’D NEVER GET PAST THAT As J.R. insisted to Babe that he trusted her completely and no one could come between them as long as they loved each other, they heard a commotion in the hallway. Adam and Krystal were asking Colby if she knew anything about the object, a decorative egg, missing from the library. Colby insisted Krystal wanted her gone so she and her daughter could keep pulling the cashmere over their eyes and rule the mansion. J.R. insisted his sister lay off his wife and Adam’s, and told his dad about Colby’s conversation with David. Colby insisted Babe had slept with Josh, but J.R. didn’t believe her, and Adam appeared not to. When J.R. told him that he and Babe were looking for a home of their own, Adam thought they should stay at least until after the baby was born as Krystal would need Babe more than ever. After Babe and J.R. left the room, Adam asked Krystal if Babe had an affair with Josh. Unable to lie to her husband, Krystal admitted it was true, but it was over. She begged Adam not to tell J.R., and he agreed he should never know. Krystal was disturbed when Adam said neither he nor his son could get past a wife cheating on them. HELL IS RIGHT HERE Josh claimed the cabin door was unlocked, and drugging David’s 18-year old scotch was a fitting end to his pathetic life. David continued to drink the scotch as he said he wasn’t afraid of death, as he had another daughter waiting for him on the other end. He’d get to see Leora again. But, he knew Josh hadn’t drugged the scotch—he wasn’t man enough to do that or get Babe away from J.R., despite all the opportunities presented. He insisted she loved Josh and would wind up in a coffin if left with her husband. WE CAN’T OBLIGE Annie and Ryan burst into Tad’s house and accused them of taking Emma. Tad and Dixie denied it, and thought it could be a ruse to give Annie time to get out of town with Emma. Dixie and Annie clashed over whose daughter they were talking about. When Ryan told him to return Emma and they wouldn’t press charges, Tad replied, “That’s mighty big of you, but we can’t oblige.” Dixie told Annie she wouldn’t get away with this! They’d find Emma wherever she put her, and prove Annie wasn’t her mother, “You have no right to our child!” Elsewhere, Emma slept peacefully. Ryan insisted they weren’t leaving there without Emma. As Tad and Ryan made calls, Dixie realized who had taken Emma. THEY CAN’T TOUCH US! In their bedroom, J.R. told Babe that Colby and David couldn’t touch them. As he painted an idyllic picture of their future together, Josh listened from the Chandler tunnels. Hearing Babe ask J.R. to make love to her, Josh left. IS MY MOMMY HERE YET? When Emma woke up and came out of the bedroom, David asked if she couldn’t sleep? Emma shook her head, and David thought maybe she was cold. He picked her up and carried her to the fireplace, saying he’d sit her down right here on his lap, get her nice and warm. Was that okay? Emma nodded, but asked if her mommy was there yet? David replied, “No, not yet, sweetheart. But your mommy will be here very soon, okay?”

pika- 11-02-2006

Tuesday, October 31, 2006 HE’S IN MY HEAD Babe was stunned when Adam said her mother confirmed that she and Josh had an affair, and insisted it was over. Adam said he promised her mother that J.R. would never hear about this from him. Babe asked her mama how the hell she could tell Adam? Krystal explained that he asked her, and she couldn’t lie to him, not about this. She was so, so sorry! Babe admitted the guilt was eating at her, and she couldn’t get Josh out of her head. Krystal advised her to keep her mouth shut and her secret buried. HOW CAN I WALK AWAY? J.R. went into his office and found Josh at his desk. Josh said he was just getting a feel for things, and wanted to talk about Babe. As J.R. told him he didn’t discuss his wife with his employees, Bianca arrived. She asked for a few moments alone with Josh, and asked if he was out of his mind? Josh admitted he had been about to tell J.R. the truth, and Bianca asked if he had ever considered just walking away? Josh asked how he could walk away from Babe? Adam wasn’t pleased that J.R. had hired Josh, and worried the advice he’d given his son about keeping your friends close and your enemies closer could be dangerous advice. I WANT MY MOMMY When Emma asked for her mommy, David said her mommy was working really hard to get there as fast as she could. SORRY, IT’S NOT MY STYLE Ryan insisted Annie hadn’t taken Emma, nor had he or Jonathan. Tad assured them it wasn’t his style. Aidan reported that he felt certain Jonathan and Erin had no idea where Emma was. When Ryan realized that Dixie had slipped out and her car was gone, he had a hunch as to where she might be. WIPE THE FEAR AWAY Kendall wondered why Zach hadn’t come to bed, and he said it was hard to close your eyes when she was all her saw, with that look of doubt in her eyes, and the fear that he wasn’t who she thought he was. Kendall assured him she loved him; as the Slaters tried to squeeze in a little romance while Spike was sleeping, Tad and Ryan arrived to ask Zach if he had taken Emma. Kendall said there was no way Zach was involved; he was with her all night, taking care of Spike while Ryan was off helping Annie. When Tad asked if he had any idea where Dixie and Emma might be, Zach said he wasn’t a private investigator, but he’d probably check with David Hayward. When Tad and Ryan left, Kendall was surprised Zach didn’t go with them to help find Emma and Dixie; Zach said they weren’t his responsibility, Kendall was. She didn’t really expect him to go with them, did she? Kendall didn’t expect it, but was afraid he would. Zach told her to wipe the fear away, and they shared a kiss. MOMMIES ARE VERY GOOD AT FINDING THEIR LITTLE GIRLS At the penthouse, Jonathan insisted Emma would be fine. Annie had tears in her eyes as she remembered playing hide-and-seek with Emma, catching her up in her arms as she told her mommies are very good at finding their little girls, and she’ll always be there for her when she needed her. WAITING FOR HER MOMMY When Dixie arrived, David said they’d been expecting her. Seeing Emma, Dixie asked if he had a clue how much chaos he’d caused? David said she couldn’t do it, so he did it for her. When he talked about the arrangements for her to leave the country with Emma, Dixie pro-*test*-('")ed she couldn’t do that to Tad or J.R. She accused David of doing this so she would go on the run with him, but he insisted his future plans didn’t include her or her little girl. He’d found Kate for her because he promised he would, and because he loved her. Ryan and Tad arrived and pounded on the door, shouting for Hayward to open the door—they knew he had Emma! At the airport, Dixie had reservations, but David asked if she wanted to believe a woman she didn’t even know, or to trust her own heart? Dixie told Emma, “Honey, we're going to take a little trip.” WHY AREN’T YOU STOPPING ME? Josh wondered why Bianca wasn’t trying to stop him from telling J.R. as she had stopped Kendall. Bianca said it was his secret to tell, it was his. She warned him to be really sure this was what he wanted, and that he was ready for everything that came after. If he did tell J.R., she was on his side, whatever he needed. Babe went into J.R.’s office. Seeing the chair turned around toward the window, she greeted her husband and suggested they make love right there and then. She was stunned when Josh turned around and called that the best offer he’d had all day. As he kissed her, J.R. approached the office.

pika- 11-06-2006

Wednesday, November 1, 2006 HAVE A GREAT LIFE David returned to the airport with another toy for Emma to keep her busy on the plane. He told Dixie it was a private charter, and the flight plan would mysteriously disappear once she landed. It was what she always wanted, starting a wonderful new life with her daughter, “Have a great life.” When Dixie asked if she was ready to go on a trip, Emma pro-*test*-('")ed they couldn’t go; she had to go home to get her Lulu Bear, and then they could fly to be with her mommy. Dixie suggested a new bear to love her, but Emma said she didn’t need a new bear as long as she had her mommy. NO ONE ELSE NEEDS ME NOW Jonathan raged that Dixie couldn’t do this alone. How could she and Tad do this to Annie, or anyone? Annie worried that her problems were taking over his life again, but Jonathan insisted he didn’t have a life anymore; no one else needed him now. Annie asked how this was even possible? She was Emma’s mother! BIG BROTHER, REPORTING FOR DUTY At BJ’s, Colby talked about plans for the fall dance, but Amanda walked by and Sean couldn’t keep his eyes off her. Colby kissed him to get his attention, and was stung when Sean backed away and said he couldn’t do that as they were going to just be friends. When he said she was a good kid, Colby reminded him he was only a year older. Sean agreed, and her brother was a jerk, so he was there, big brother reporting for duty. Colby made an excuse to leave, and cried when she was outside the restaurant. YOU NEVER WANTED THAT KID IN THE FIRST PLACE Ryan and Tad found David’s cabin empty, and no sign of Emma. As Tad looked at the computer for a lead, David returned home. Tad accused him of taking Emma, and David asked if he was afraid Dixie might have done something that he wouldn't? He said Tad never wanted that kid in the first place, “Maybe you caught yourself a break.” I WAS SO WRONG Annie was overjoyed when Dixie brought Emma home; Dixie said Emma wanted her mommy, so… Annie hugged her daughter tightly, and took her upstairs to bed. Jonathan wanted to call the police, but Dixie only wanted Annie to listen to her. Annie told her she could rot in Hell, and Dixie admitted she was so wrong. YOU WERE SO CLOSE David was disappointed when Ryan got a call from Erin that Emma had been returned. Tad accused David of putting Dixie up to this, and David asked if he honestly didn’t believe even a little bit that Emma was Kate? Tad and Ryan left, and David sighed that Dixie was so close, and would never know what she missed. THE COLBY CHANDLER SHOW, 24/7 Colby accused Sydney of being responsible for Sean ditching her. As the girls argued, Winifred came in and asked if the missing Faberge egg turned up? Told no, Winnie left the room, saying it had to be somewhere. Colby slipped another item into Syd’s backpack, and took it to her room. CAN WE PLEASE JUST KNOW? Dixie admitted to Annie that she was going to take Emma and run. She was going to tell her she was her real mommy and they belonged together, but realized Emma only knew Annie as her mommy and she couldn’t take her away. She swore on her mother’s grave and her son’s life that she’d never take her away again, but she needed to know if Emma was her daughter. Could she please just give them that? GOOD TRY Sean hit on Amanda, who called it a good try, but no. Sean told her not to do it, “Whoever he is, whatever he did, don't let him make you this sad.” As he put an arm around her and asked what he could do to make it all better, Jonathan came in and saw them together. WHOOPS Babe refused to have the same conversation with Josh again, especially not in this office, and he shouldn’t ever pull anything like that kiss again! She made a choice; it was hard and it hurt, but that's the way it had to be. As Josh urged her to take her son and leave, J.R. came in and asked what he missed? After Josh left, Babe told J.R. she didn’t like the idea of them working together, and wanted Josh out of Chandler. J.R. told her not to worry, Josh could stay. All that bad stuff was in the past. Later, he couldn’t stop himself from taunting Josh, who told him Hayward wasn’t lying, “I made love to your wife.”

pika- 11-06-2006

Thursday, November 2, 2006 NEVER AGAIN! Jonathan asked Sean if there wasn’t any action going on at the high school today, no potentially lethal parties he should be attending? Amanda stood, saying this wasn’t any fun for her, “So bye.” Sean was sorry one of them had ruined her lunch, and he would leave. He hoped he’d see her again soon, when her watchdog was off-duty. He left, and Amanda told Jonathan never to try that again with her—she wasn’t Lily! She accepted that Lily owned a huge piece of his heart that she could never touch, and he had to accept that she didn’t need protection like Lily, either. She didn’t hook up with Sean, but they were having a good time before he swooped in. If he wanted to be her friend and support her, back off! MINE, NOT YOURS “Mine,” Annie told Dixie and Tad, “Not yours." Emma was her daughter, born from her body. What would it take to make them back off? Dixie begged her to allow a DNA -*test*-('") so they could know for sure, and reiterated her promise not to try to take Emma. Annie refused; Tad and Dixie reluctantly left. Annie told Ryan to go ahead and say it, she was wrong. Emma came down, and Annie told her if anyone ever said her mommy sent them to get her, they weren’t telling the truth. Later, Annie admitted to Ryan that she was afraid of having another DNA -*test*-('"), but she understood the look Dixie had in her eyes, the kind of look you have when you're afraid you'll never see your child again. That look on Dixie's face was stuck in her mind…Please tell her what to do. Ryan told her to trust her instincts. He did, and knew she’d make the right decision. A DONE DEAL? Marian showed Babe the perfect house, but Kendall showed up and claimed she and Zach already bought it. It was a done deal—live with it! Marian pro-*test*-('")ed she hadn’t heard of any offers being made on this house. Babe told her to do whatever she had to, just get her this house. Kendall warned that her husband’s associates always got what they wanted, or in this case, what she wanted. Babe accused her of not loving the place; Kendall said the only way she might have cut her an inch of slack was if her brother had stolen her away from J.R. USE YOUR ACE IN THE HOLE Zach told Myrtle that Kendall didn’t believe in him anymore. How could he get around that? Myrtle pulled a card, an ace, from her sleeve and told him to use his ace in the hole. Kendall was madly in love with him. Zach said she looked into his soul and saw what he was capable of, and it tore her heart to shreds. How could he put it back together? Myrtle advised him to have patience; that was the best she could do. I MAY NEVER HAVE THE ANSWER Back at Tad’s, Dixie said she was going to call him the minute she and Emma touched down somewhere. He had to believe that, “I wasn't going to keep you from your little girl.” Tad believed her. Dixie sighed that Greg kept telling her she would be destroying a family if she insisted on going after Kate, and she now realized he was right. She made a promise to Annie not to go after Kate, but that didn’t mean he had to go along with it. Tad told her to stop! He didn’t know if Emma was his daughter, and never would without a DNA -*test*-('"); he may never have the answer. They were both surprised when Annie came over and said she’d changed her mind; they’d take the -*test*-('"), now. JUST LIKE THAT J.R. called Josh a damn liar, and refused to believe he’d had an affair with Babe. Babe called J.R. to tell him about the house; J.R. fired Josh before leaving. Bianca came in and warned Josh that things might not work out the way he hoped; he might realize he loved Babe enough to try to make it work. She confided that Maggie had been cheating on her, but if she walked through that door right now, she would take her back. Josh called her a much bigger person than he was, a thousand times bigger than J.R. There's no way in Hell he'd be this understanding about Babe having an affair. WHAT’S ON YOUR MIND? J.R. arrived to see the house, and told Babe Josh was history. Kendall came out, and insisted she and Zach were buying the house. When J.R. remarked she’d be unbelievably stupid to go up against him on this one, Kendall asked if he thought he scared her? They’d see who ends up in this house! Back home, Babe knew J.R. had something on his mind; J.R. said Josh told him they were having an affair. WELCOME BACK! Kendall rushed into Zach’s office and asked how much they were worth? She wanted this house! Zach welcomed her back and kissed her.

pika- 11-06-2006

Friday, November 3, 2006 HE DIDN’T KEEP HIS WORD! Babe was stunned that Josh really said that, and asked if J.R. didn’t believe him, even for a minute? J.R. said they’d talked about this, and he believed her and only her. Did she get it now? Did she see who this guy was? Babe insisted Josh knew her future was with her husband and son—what was he thinking? She’d never forgive him! He respected how she felt, he knew she couldn’t be with him—he knew that it was over! “Knew what was over?” J.R. asked. Babe said she thought his crazy idea that they could be together was over. She was very clear with him. Did this just come out of the blue? She realized J.R. rubbed his face in it, and worried about what Josh would do. All bets were off now—he didn’t keep his word! “His word about what?” J.R. asked. Babe was saved from answering when Krystal and Adam came in to share the news that they were having a perfectly healthy little girl! ANYTHING YOU HAVE TO GIVE Ryan told the Spikeman he was a lucky guy—he got to have a sleepover with Emma! Annie sighed she was her baby—why couldn’t she prove it? Why didn’t their DNA match? Ryan told her the answer was out there, and he promised he’d find it. He was impressed with Annie’s parenting skills; if he could be half the parent she was, he’d be happy. They spent a pleasant evening together, with Annie giving Ryan tips on the Parents’ Survival Guide. Ryan thought this was the kind of training he needed; anything she had to give, he wanted. Later, Annie asked about Kendall, and Ryan said they weren’t meant to be; he’d realized you can’t ask someone to sign on to your fantasy. Annie thought it can work sometimes, but Ryan said not with Kendall. As they ended their crash course in parenting, Ryan picked Annie up in his arms as she played the role of Spike. Their faces were almost touching as she said he won; it was late and she was tired, so she’d go to bed. PLAN B Expecting Jeff, Erica was surprised when Jack came to her door to escort her to her sweeps party. Jeff arrived, and Erica explained that was Plan B. Jack told Jeff his wife had decided to go back to Plan A, her husband. ZACH ALL THE WAY Josh was upset to see Zach at the party with Kendall, and asked if they thought he wanted to party with the man who got away with killing Greg Madden? Getting around the law didn’t mean a damn thing! Josh thought the Kane women were suckers, and Kendall was concerned to hear Bianca and Maggie were having problems. Zach was pleased when Kendall defended him, and told her brother if she had to choose between him and Zach, it was Zach all the way. ARE YOU HIS? Lily thought Sean had been recruited to baby-sit her, but he said it was the other way around. Lily was upset when Sean implied there was trouble in Jack and Erica’s marriage, and blamed herself. Sean insisted he was the one Erica wanted to get away from. When Lily spoke of how people had to be alike to have a successful relationship, Sean brought up how Jonathan was upset when he was hitting on Amanda. Amanda showed up, and Lily wondered how she felt about Jonathan. As Amanda insisted Jonathan was still in love with her and suggested she give him another chance, Lily became agitated and accidentally cut her hand. She was frightened by the red; Sean and Amanda took her to the ER for stitches. WON’T THIS BE FUN? Erica came into the Valley Inn escorted by Jack and Jeff, and smiled, “Won’t this be fun?” She found her children arguing about choices of partners; Donny Osmond came up and noted Osmond family reunions were nothing like that. Donny commented on her successfully juggling her husbands, but Erica insisted she was happily married, and both Jeff and Jack knew where they stood. Kendall told Zach she meant what she said to Josh, and suggested ditching the party, going to see their new place! At the house, Zach insisted they couldn’t live there. Josh watched his parents and figured out Jeff wanted an encore. He told Jeff about spilling the truth to J.R., and said his plan was a wash. Now, he was going to get the anger, and Babe wasn’t going to get her freedom. Jeff was sorry. Jack left for the emergency room, and Jeff told Erica it looked like he was her Number One escort after all. Josh saw Erin, and asked if she remembered when she hit on him after Babe told her to go for it? “Want to try it again?” SHOULD I ASK? Babe was riddled with guilt when J.R. asked her straight out if she slept with Josh, and admitted she did.

pika- 11-08-2006

Monday, November 6, 2006 A HOUSE IS NOT A HOME As they stood on the terrace, Zach insisted it couldn’t work, “I said we couldn’t live here. What I meant was that I can’t live here and I can’t be here.” Saying he had to go, Zach hurried out. Later, at ConFusion, he explained the house was the spitting image of the house he grew up in. She could have any house she wanted, just not that one. Kendall understood and was sorry. Zach sketched the house they’d build together, pointing out where the nursery would be. When Kendall said Spike would be way past a nursery when it was done, Zach knew, and showed her where Spike’s room would be. “You mean for our baby?” Kendall asked. Zach called it just a thought. Kendall asked if that was something he would really want? Zach admitted it terrified him, but yeah. If they were ready, he would like that. Kendall thought, in time, they would be. CONFUSION AT CONFUSION Julia saw Tad at ConFusion, and learned Annie had to the DNA -*test*-('"). They could be closer to Kate than they thought! It was a long shot, but at least they’d know for sure. Jamie came in and asked if Julia was joining them for a beer, but Julia had a Girls’ Night Out planned with her friends. Tad saw Jamie looking over at Julia and told his son to just go over there! When Jamie shrugged it was Girls’ Night and he wasn’t invited, Tad laughed, “And you call yourself a Martin?” Erin thought come-ons came with an expiration date, calling hers way too long ago. Josh noted he had a different brand loyalty, and Erin nodded he only had eyes for Babe. If he couldn’t admit that, there was a party waiting for her. Josh admitted it, and Erin confessed while she did find him devastatingly attractive, when she approached him last summer, she was also doing a favor for J.R., keeping him away from Babe. Last summer, she wasn’t so big on the “L” word, looking more for recreational sex. Now, her current status on insignificant physical contact was at an all-time high. Jamie told Julia that Josh just left with Erin, “No big deal?” He saw them kissing on the beach a few weeks ago. Julia didn’t know why it would matter to him what she did or with whom. He was the big player! Jamie agreed he just took it moment to moment; Julia said she did, too. Jamie told Tad that Julia didn’t give a crap about him! Tad called it a woman’s brilliant strategy to keep him confused. DON’T TEMPT FATE Krystal was upset when Adam wanted to adjust his will to create a trust to ensure Charlotte’s future, and hers. She told him not to even think of dying on her—she wanted their little girl with her daddy by her side. She was so happy, not because of what he gave her but because of the way he loved her. She urged him not to go messing with the finances. They were just fine and dandy. She might be a little superstitious, “But don’t tempt fate.” IT’S A TRUST THING Babe cried as she told J.R. she was so sorry, she’d made a one-time horrible mistake, and didn’t want them to have any more lies or secrets. J.R. was angry his kid sister tried to warn him and he dismissed her claims. Babe knew she’d hurt him deeply, but he’d hurt her, too, and they’d always come back. Could he forgive her? He tried to kill her, and maybe she hadn’t forgiven him all the way, but she loved him with everything in her and still wanted to be his wife. J.R. asked if she had told Josh she loved him? Devastated when she admitted it, he raced out of the house. ONE DOWN, ONE TO GO! Colby told Adam and Krystal there was one marriage down, one to go. They heard Babe calling out to J.R. not to go; Babe begged Adam to stop J.R.—don’t let him do anything crazy! Adam went after his son, and Krystal stopped Babe from calling Josh to warn him. Saying she was responsible for anything that happened, Babe rushed out. BACK TO BABE Josh brought Erin to the roof; as they got passionate, he flashed back to making love to Babe, and couldn’t go through with it with Erin, who thought he wasn’t who he used to be. FALLING OFF THE WAGON Adam went to Josh’s room to find the door unlocked. He went in, calling out for Josh or J.R., “Anyone in here?” After he left, J.R. came out of the bathroom. He drank the small bottles of alcohol from the mini bar as he imagined his wife in bed with Josh. THERE MAY BE SOMEONE WAITING When Babe went to ConFusion looking for J.R., Erin said there might be someone waiting on the roof for her. When Babe found Josh, she slapped his face and called him a "son of a bitch!”

Tuesday, November 7, 2006 WE’RE JUST FINE Jack saw Jonathan looking in through the window of the hospital room, and told him Lily was going to be fine. He suggested Jonathan might want to go in before she woke up to see for himself that she was all right; Jonathan understood if Lily saw him, she’d be upset. Sean came up with Amanda and asked Jonathan for a heads-up if he felt another freak-out coming on. Brooke joined Jack, relieved Lily was all right. Amanda called her, and all she could hear was “knife” and “hand”… Brooke was surprised when Jack told her about leaving Erica’s party, but that Jeff was her first choice as an escort. Jack insisted Erica would be coming home soon, and they were just fine. Amanda told Jonathan she went to check up on Lily today, and somehow all this stuff about him came up. It crushed her that Lily was upset and landed in the ER… She couldn’t even be their friend anymore, and that made her sad for all of them. A CURSE ON YOUR CHILDREN Erica called her party wonderful, and shared with Jeff that she felt Erica Kane was back—she connected, or reconnected, with herself tonight! Jeff felt a reconnection, too. He touched her cheek and they came together, about to kiss, when Adam came in and called it revolting, “I guess depravity must run in the DNA. You destroy your family while your son destroys mine.” Jeff said he and Erica would deal with Josh; Adam should go home and deal with his son. Jeff left to find Josh before J.R. did, and Adam was taken aback when Erica congratulated him on creating a whole new generation of criminals, “Colby is a liar, and J.R. is a wannabe murderer. You're a curse on your children. You've doomed them all.” BRAT OUT OF HELL Sydney brought Krystal the missing items and said she found all these in her room, and Colby was trying to set her up! Krystal believed her, and Colby noted she should have known the trailer trash girls would stick together. Krystal told Colby her father loved her to pieces, so why was she hell-bent on pushing every single one of them from his life? She was trying to keep her daddy’s attention, but already had it. Colby tried to bluff, saying she knew the secret about Krystal and Tad. Krystal told her there was nothing to know. Maybe the reason she couldn’t feel her father's love was because she couldn’t feel anything at all. The people she loved were in pain, and it could get a heck of a lot worse. What if J.R. went off and hurt someone, or worse? Colby shrugged, “Babe had sex and J.R. got wise. Really, what's the worst that could happen?” YOU ALREADY DID Babe was furious with Josh for breaking his promise not to tell J.R. about them, but admitted she’d come to make sure Josh was still breathing. He realized J.R. finally did buy it, and she was scared out of her mind. He could feel it, she was ready to end this joke of a marriage, “This is where all of that ends and you and me start, for real.” Babe shoved him away and asked if he thought he could stab her in the back and then just kiss it all away? Her future was with J.R.! She was stunned to learn Josh had been in the tunnels listening to her private conversation with her husband, and repeated they were over! She told J.R. the truth because J.R. trusted her with everything that was in him. There's no way she could spit on that trust. Josh noted she already did, “The only difference is now he knows.” Vowing J.R. would not use her as an excuse to hurt anyone else, Josh left. When the door to the roof opened, Babe jumped up and asked, “J.R.?” Adam told her to guess again. LUCKY YOU Bianca found J.R. in Josh’s hotel room and realized he was drunk. Asked what he wanted with Josh, J.R. said he wanted to compare notes on Babe in the sack. Bianca picked up the phone, and J.R. took it from her, saying someone had to pay. He accused Bianca and Kendall of putting Josh up to this to get revenge, to rip his heart to shreds and watch him bleed! He furiously slammed a glass down, cutting his hand, and told Bianca it worked. He’s bleeding plenty. Bianca reminded him of how they had once talked about not repeating their parents’ mistakes and honoring their children, making better choices. Were these the choices he’d made? She advised him that life sucks, so deal with it. Stop ranting and raving and turning himself into a monster! J.R. claimed Babe and Josh made him look like a fool, but Bianca insisted he’d done that to himself. Erica arrived and refused to let him leave the room, saying he would never hurt anyone she loved again. Unable to get past them to the door, J.R. threw himself out the window; glass shattered everywhere, and Erica shielded a horrified Bianca.

pika- 01-11-2007

Thursday, November 9, 2006 IT HAS TO BE OVER! After J.R. drunkenly jumped through the window, Bianca called 9-1-1 and Erica looked out the window at J.R. lying on the ground below. Josh found J.R. still breathing but losing a lot of blood. He jumped into action, ripping his own shirt for tourniquets to keep J.R. from bleeding out; he determined that immediate surgery was required and stabilized J.R. before he was taken to the hospital. Bianca blamed herself for not letting J.R. leave the room, and going off on him about all the people he’d hurt. Erica told her to stop it—she was not responsible for what happened to J.R.! She reminded her daughter of all the damage J.R. had done to their family, and said it had to be over. LIE AFTER LIE AFTER LIE When Babe admitted she told J.R., Adam accused her of destroying his son! She begged him to keep her secret, so why did she suddenly decide she couldn’t lie to J.R.? She’d hooked J.R. with her lies, and held on to him ever since with lie after lie after lie. This was all a plan to take Little A and J.R.’s money and live happily ever after with Josh Madden! Jeff came out on the roof and told Adam to back off! The men almost came to blows, but Babe begged them to stop! Josh came through the door, his shirt covered in blood. Jeff rushed to him—did J.R. do this to him? Josh said it wasn’t his blood, it was J.R.’s. He was waiting in his room for him. He was drunk, and Erica and Bianca found him. He almost went after Bianca, and then he threw himself out of a window. Adam rushed out to the hospital; Jeff followed. Josh told Babe he was drunk, so out of control he thought going out of a window was a good, sane idea. She had to see him for who he really was, for what he was capable of doing. “CHIMERISM” Ryan was asleep on the sofa when Annie woke him and said it just hit her—her little girl could be Tad’s child! Ryan really didn’t see Tad as the kind of guy who would make a donation at a sperm bank. Unless… He admitted when he first came to Pine Valley, he was a little short on cash and he did it – that's how Spike got here. As Annie laughed at the idea of Ryan strolling into a sperm bank, offering up a sample for quick money, Emma came out and said she woke up and her mommy wasn’t there—she didn’t want to lose her mommy again! After getting her back to sleep, Annie asked Ryan what if she didn’t remember what she thought she remembered? She knew she gave birth, but the pain, the medication, the whole experience was so overwhelming maybe she wasn't completely aware. What if Greg Madden was able to pull some kind of a switch? What if her baby girl didn't make it and Madden gave her Tad and Dixie's daughter? Ryan insisted she stop second-guessing herself. When the waiting was driving her crazy, Ryan read her a story from Emma’s book, and they ended up laughing as they argued over whether a creature was a gargoyle or a chimera. Ryan looked it up on the Internet, and found a reference to genetics, "chimerism", that could be detected through DNA -*test*-('")ing, providing an explanation for a woman’s DNA not matching her children’s. 12 ½ HOURS As he sat at the blackjack table, Tad placed a bet,”100 to 1. 100 to 1, Emma is really Kate.” Zach came up and called that high stakes. Tad sighed, “12 ½ hours.” After all this time, they were going to find out if Emma was really their daughter. He hit 21, and Zach noted it looked like his luck was changing. Tad said Dixie made Annie a promise. Even if the -*test*-('") was positive and that baby was Kate, she said they wouldn't sue for custody. When Kate was born, he didn’t have a vote, “I do now.” Zach advised him to do whatever he had to do, but Tad didn’t know what that was. IS THIS MY PUNISHMENT? Dixie dreamed of a child’s laughter and cried out in confusion for Kate, or Emma, before waking with a start. When Di arrived, Dixie told her of the recurring nightmares she’d been having about Greg, and being close to Kate but unable to move or see, like being in a coffin. Her eyes widened as she realized, “Oh, my god. Greg Madden's coffin.” Di urged her not to do this to herself, but Dixie worried that Tad had taken the truth about Kate so hard that she had broken him. Did she drive Tad to torture Greg Madden? Di was stunned to learn Tad was responsible for Greg’s death. Dixie admitted she tried to comfort him, but a part of her just wanted to run away and never know that Tad tortured another human being, and now Greg tortures her. Was this her punishment? She’d made so many mistakes! Di said they’d all made mistakes, but it didn’t mean they were in for a lifetime full of karmic paybacks. She was stunned when Dixie said she’d promised not to take her away if Emma was Kate, and said they could work something out, like joint custody, or at least visitation. She couldn’t lose Kate again, “You have a right to have your child in your life.” The phone rang after Di left; surprised to hear Adam’s voice, Dixie exclaimed it was the middle of the night! Adam told her it was J.R., “There’s been an accident.” IS HE GOING TO MAKE IT? J.R. was brought into the ER with a severed right femoral artery, a deep laceration over his right ear and a possible fractured pelvis; Dr. Madden had clamped off the artery in the field. J.R. was prepped for surgery. Bianca arrived and asked Julia if J.R. was going to make it; Julia couldn’t make that call. Adam blamed Bianca and asked what the hell she did to J.R.? Bianca insisted J.R. did it to himself, she didn’t push him. He was so drunk he didn’t realize they were on the fourth floor. Babe asked if she was all right? Bianca admitted she wasn’t great. Josh sat on the roof with his own thoughts, while Jeff found Erica, who said it could have been Josh and went into his arms for comfort. Babe asked Julia if J.R. had a chance? Julia didn’t know if he was going to make it or not.

pika- 01-11-2007

Friday, November 10, 2006 IF J.R. DIES Unable to get any news on J.R., Adam called Palmer and said if he loved his son at all, he’d get every member of the Board on the phone this instant and find out if J.R. was going to live. Surprised to hear Bianca and Erica were with J.R. when he jumped through the window, Jack hugged Bianca and asked where her mom was now? Bianca blamed herself for provoking J.R., but Jack insisted she was not responsible for J.R. being on that operating table right now. That man's problems started long before she found him drunk in Josh's room, and J.R. brought it all on himself. Bianca admitted she was just as furious at J.R. tonight as she had been that night in Florida. She knew Jack would think she was crazy, but she saw a glimpse of the old J.R. tonight, the one she used to call her friend. She wasn’t excusing his behavior, but in the end, he took it all out on himself, and out of anger and fear, she made bad choices and couldn’t help feeling partially responsible. She couldn’t leave until she knew J.R. was going to live. Jack asked what if he didn’t live? When Krystal asked if there was anything she could do, Adam said it was too late, “Your daughter has destroyed my son.” He blamed Babe for everything, and said he was going to fight her for custody of Little Adam. David listened as Krystal begged Adam not to go after Babe, and smiled when he learned J.R. would be lucky if he made it off the table breathing. Dixie confronted Babe and asked how she could break J.R.’s heart like that? Tad led her away, and Dixie asked if she was being punished by losing all of her children? Tad insisted they wouldn’t lose J.R., and if Emma was Kate, they wouldn’t lose her either. He knew Annie was the only mother Emma had ever known, but he wasn’t going to give up their right to spend time with her. Believe him, J.R. was going to live to watch his little sister grow up. WHO’S DRIVING? When Josh came to her door covered in blood, Kendall assumed he’d killed J.R. and came up with a plan to get her brother out of the country. Josh thought it was cool that she was planning his escape; if he ever decided to kill someone, she’d be the first person he’d come to. Kendall suggested he get cleaned up, and said she was really glad he was okay. Josh admitted he’d come because he didn’t want to be alone, and wondered why he didn’t let J.R. die when he had the chance, finally deciding it was because Babe would never forgive him. Saying he wanted to go see if that S.O.B. was still alive, Josh was pleased when Kendall said she’d drive. EVERYTHING I NEEDED TO SAY Jeff admitted to Erica that he was falling back in love with her and imagining their future together. Erica changed the subject, wanting to get to the hospital. Jeff told her he’d said everything he had to say, and drove her to PVH. ONLY ONE PERSON TO BLAME Krystal insisted there was only one person to blame for J.R. being in the hospital and that was J.R. It was the booze that made him crazy and fall four stories, not Babe. She knew Adam was hurting and wanted somebody to suffer, “But if you do this and you take Little Adam away from Babe, then I will take your child away from you.” Erica arrived with Jeff, and was pleased to hear Lily was well enough to go home. Jack looked at Erica as she watched a tearful Bianca, while Jeff watched all of them. All eyes were on Josh as he came in with Kendall. He went to Babe and asked, ”So how is he? How's J.R.?” Adam shoved Babe out of the way and decked Josh. Jeff pulled Adam off and shouted to leave his son alone, “You want to go after someone, come after me!” Adam agreed, “Bring it on, Martin,” and knocked Jeff to the floor. Dixie called Josh the reason her son was here, but Kendall blamed Babe. Dixie confronted Babe—how could she do it? Adam agreed it was all Babe’s fault. Babe agreed, she was responsible for all of it. Jack wasn’t pleased to see Erica’s concern for Jeff. When he said her party was over and she could move home, Erica wasn’t ready to do that yet, saying her show still needed her attention. Jack wondered if it was “New Beginnings” that needed her attention, or Jeff Martin? Kendall realized that Bianca’s concern for J.R. was really about Maggie. Bianca berated herself for being so willing to stand up to J.R., but not standing up to Maggie when she learned she was cheating. Why didn’t she stay and fight for the person she wanted most in the world? HE COULD HAVE BEEN SMART! Jamie blamed himself for not preventing J.R. from drinking again, and J.R. for not being smart and just divorcing Babe, fighting for custody of his son. When Julia reached out to him, he told her he wanted her back. STILL TOUCH-AND-GO Adam called Barry Shire with orders to gear up for a custody battle, “It'll either be my grandson or my new baby girl. Or both.” Tad spoke to Joe, and reported that J.R. was still in surgery, “It's still touch-and-go.” When Josh found Babe in tears, she told him to leave her alone, “I never want to see your face again.”

pika- 01-11-2007

Monday, November 13, 2006 WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT HIM? Tad told Dixie he just kept thinking about what J.R. must have been thinking and feeling when he went through the glass and started to fall. Whatever he’d done, J.R. didn’t deserve to die. Dixie told Di today could have been the happiest day of her life, the day she got both her children back, and now she could lose them both. Di hugged her and insisted that was not going to happen. When Kendall urged Bianca to forget about Maggie, Binks agreed she’d forget about her when her sister forgot about Zach. It was crazy, when you loved someone, you could forgive the unforgivable. Jeff asked Tad what he was going to do about J.R.? If J.R. had found Josh tonight, his son would be dead. He needed to take real constructive steps to keep J.R. from hurting himself and the people around him, “I will not let your son destroy mine.” He knew his son was lost, and he needed to find him, make sure he knew how much he loved him. Tad thought he sounded just like Joe, “Josh is a lucky man. Anybody would be who had you as a father.” Kendall confronted Tad about lying to her when he swore he saw Zach and Dixie burying Greg Madden. She couldn’t imagine the pain he was feeling over J.R., but part of her said he deserved it—his lie almost killed her! Tad knew it was way too little, way too late, but for what it was worth, he hated lying to her, “I hated all the things I had to do. But I did them anyway.” HOW FAR DO YOU INTEND TO LET IT GO? Jack asked how far Erica intended to let things go with Jeff? He’d seen her with Jeff, and asked what was more important to her, their marriage or Jeff Martin? He demanded she come home with him, but Erica refused, blaming him for the problems they were having. When Brooke came up, Erica accused her of wanting Jack; Brooke thought if Jack and Erica were having problems, it was obvious who was to blame. Jack wanted her to come home with him right then, but Erica chose to go back to the Valley Inn alone. SAVED BY THE BEEP Jamie told Julia how he felt about her, and that he wanted her back. Julia brought up their differences, but was saved from giving him a straight answer when her pager beeped. PEOPLE MAKE MISTAKES Adam told Barry to put the best child custody lawyers on the East Coast on retainer; he’d let him know soon just how far they had to go. Krystal came in and asked if he was stirring up trouble for Babe? Babe was J.R.’s wife, for better or for worse, and she’d put up with a lot of worse herself. People make mistakes they regret, but just because you mess up huge doesn’t mean you stop loving someone. She asked him to promise he wouldn’t go after Babe. David told Krystal that Babe and J.R. were over, and it was her job to make Babe see that. Get Babe and her son out of there, fast! He said he’d taken action when no one else would, and someday their daughter would know what he’d done for her, and she’d be grateful. THERE’S NEWS ON J.R. Babe thought Josh had tried to use J.R.’s fall to his advantage so he'd be out of his way for good, but saw Josh in a new light after Bianca told her he’d saved J.R.’s life. Di came to say there was news on J.R. THE BEST KIND OF MESSAGE The doctor told the family that J.R. was out of surgery, but not fully out of the woods just yet. He had a long road ahead, but the worst of it was over and he was stable for now. They were doing everything they could. Kendall told Adam he’d had a lot going on, so he got a free pass for decking her brother, a one-time, never-happening-again pass, but Josh was a Kane, “Go after him, it's the same as going after me, my sister, or my mother. You make a move on him, we make a move on you.” Dixie was surprised when Tad said they needed to get J.R. the help he needed, and that meant a long-term rehab center for alcoholism. Dixie asked what kind of message sending him away right now would give him? Tad called it the best kind, the kind that says "we love you too much to lose you”. David told Dixie he was sure things would work out exactly as they should, and she would find all the happiness she deserved, “That's all I need. I can live on that for the rest of my life.” Josh urged Babe to take her son and leave that house, now. Krystal told Adam she hated threatening him. She loves him so much, but she loves Babe, too, and she’s not going to let anybody hurt her because of some mistake that she made. Josh watched Babe’s bedside vigil; Bianca and Kendall exchanged a look as they watched him walk away. HEARTACHE AWAITS David called Julia a glutton for punishment. If she wanted to go for seconds with Martin, be his guest, but remember he warned her, “Heartache awaits.” Julia told Jamie she was sorry, but their getting back together wasn’t going to happen. A THING FOR JEFF MARTIN? Brooke told Jack she would deny it until she went to her grave, but she had to say it, Erica’s right, “On occasion, I am very attracted to the men that she's involved with.” Surprised, Jack asked if she had a thing for Jeff Martin? Brooke laughed, “No.” As Erica and Jeff shared tea in her room, she told him she was sorry for getting angry at him; she should be angry at herself because she wanted him to kiss her. Jeff knew. Erica said she had a lot to figure out, but she loved her husband and was going to fight for her marriage. THE RESULTS ARE IN Tad and Dixie rushed to hear the results of the DNA -*test*-('").

pika- 01-11-2007

Tuesday, November 14, 2006 I’M SORRY As they waited anxiously for the DNA -*test*-('") results, Tad wanted to talk about their access to Emma if she was his and Dixie’s daughter. Annie was upset that Dixie lied to her, and Ryan thought Tad was jumping the gun. He insisted that Emma was Annie’s daughter, but Tad asked how that was possible when her own DNA -*test*-('") showed they weren’t related? Ryan explained the medical condition, Chimera, they believed Annie had, but maintained once the DNA results got there, Annie wasn’t going to have to prove anything. Tad and Dixie would have to accept the fact that Emma' wasn’t their daughter, walk away from Emma and never look back. When the -*test*-('") results were delivered, Tad and Dixie were devastated to learn that Emma wasn’t Kate. After they left, Annie asked Ryan if it was really over? He agreed it was, and she hugged and kissed him as she thanked him a million times over. Back in her room, Dixie took a large shopping bag from the closet and looked at the many gifts she’d bought for Kate over the years. She heard her name, and looked up to see David standing in the doorway. J.R.’S ONLY HOPE? Adam urged Krystal to go home and get some rest, but she was afraid to leave the hospital for fear of what he’d do to Babe. Adam said he loved her, so for her, he swore he wouldn’t do anything to hurt Babe. While J.R. was recuperating, he wanted them to heal their family as a family. That meant he was going to reach out to Babe to have her help make that happen. As Babe sat by J.R.’s bedside, Jamie came in and said she shouldn’t be there. Colby came in, appearing genuinely upset, and Jamie suggested to Babe that they give her a minute alone with her brother. Colby sat beside the bed; she held back tears as she touched J.R.’s hand and said she loved him. As Jamie told Babe her face was the last thing J.R. needed to see when he woke up, Colby came out and blamed Babe for what had happened to her brother. Babe was hurt when Jamie told her to leave his brother the hell alone. Jamie was surprised when Adam defended Babe. Babe noted that Adam hated her and blamed her, but Adam said he also believed she was J.R.’s only hope. Krystal wanted him to see her side of this, to believe that she really loved J.R., that what she did was just a horrible mistake she regretted. He believed she was sorry, and that they both want him back. Grateful, Babe said she did, and promised to spend her life making it up to him. Adam hoped she meant that, because there was something she could do. She wouldn’t like it, but it was necessary if she wanted J.R. to heal. J.R. would need to put all of his resources into his recovery, and wouldn’t have enough energy to work on his marriage. She needed to give him distance, “Would you be willing to leave Pine Valley?” Babe agreed it did sort of make sense, but what about Little A? How was J.R. going to deal being away from his son? Adam said he’d have to have Little A with him. He needed the boy now more than ever, “So when you leave, you'll have to leave the boy behind.” THE FACT YOU KEEP FORGETTING Josh was shooting hoops in the park when Amanda came up and accused him of trying to get rid of the competition permanently. Who was he framing for J.R. going out the window? Josh said J.R. found out about him and Babe. He slammed back about a dozen bottles from his mini bar, and then threw himself out of his hotel window. Babe was by his bedside, the picture of a devoted wife, and J.R. didn’t deserve it. Amanda asked, “You left her alone with that crazy drunk?” Josh admitted it would have been easy to let him die, but he couldn’t, because of Babe. She’d never forgive him, and he wanted her to see he was the better man. Amanda asked if he was giving up? Josh said it was pretty hard to compete with a guy who's in intensive care. Jamie came up and told Amanda to leave Josh to him. As they shot hoops, Jamie said J.R. had issues, but Babe loved him. Josh worried about Babe—Jamie may have been able to leave her with a maniac, but he couldn’t. Jamie told him to get off his high horse! Babe loved J.R. That was the fact he keeps forgetting, “She's never going to love anyone as much as she loves him.” THEY NEVER CAME Back at the manse, Colby lashed out at Krystal, who wondered if attacking her and Babe helped? Did it make it easier for her to handle her hurt and her pain? Colby felt responsible for what happened, because she was the one that told J.R. about Josh and Babe. Krystal insisted it wasn’t her fault. Colby broke down and admitted that all she wanted was for her daddy and J.R. to love her again. Krystal wordlessly pulled her close for a hug. Colby spoke of her pain when Liza took her away; she missed her daddy and J.R. so much she thought she was going to die. They never came, “So they must've stopped loving me.” Krystal held her as she insisted, “Oh, no. Sweetheart, they love you so much.” WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY SON? Babe asked if he honestly wanted her to leave without her son? Amanda came up and asked her friend, “You aren't really buying that load of crap, are you?” Babe asked Adam how he planned on turning her gone for a little while into her gone forever? It wasn’t happening! She was not leaving her son, her husband, or this town. She walked away, and Amanda wished Babe didn't have such a big heart, “I wish that she could yank the plug on that maniac.” Tad went to the hospital and told a nurse to page David Hayward now. When the nurse asked if this was an emergency, Tad agreed, “It will be, because I'm going to try to kill him.” J.R. opened his eyes and focused on Babe’s face. The monitor beeped and set off an alarm. Babe called out for help—something was wrong! A medical team jumped into action, and insisted Babe had to leave. Adam came in and demanded, “What have you done to my son?”

pika- 01-11-2007

Wednesday, November 15, 2006 NOW, WHERE’S THE CHILD? As Annie and Ryan started to celebrate with a pancake brunch, Ms. Thompson from the Department of Family Services arrived to intervene because Ms. McDermott had physical possession of a child who wasn’t hers. Annie explained the earlier DNA -*test*-('") was just a mistake, but Ms. Thompson noted she came to Pennsylvania from New York. Tens of thousands of children go missing every year, “Unless you're able to prove otherwise right now, I have to assume that this little girl is one of them.” Stunned, Annie told her to get out, now! Ryan explained why Annie and Emma didn’t seem to have the same DNA. Ms. Thompson asked to see proof, and wanted to know where the child was? Annie asked what difference that made? Ms. Thompson replied, “Until you can substantiate your claim, she'll be in our custody, not yours.” FAMILY BUSINESS Josh told Bianca and Kendall that he was through with Babe, now and forever. Kendall suggested Bianca offer Josh a job in Paris to get rid of that little blonde sleazeball once and for all, but Bianca didn’t believe a word her brother was saying about Babe and insisted they have a private talk on the roof. Kendall reassigned Babe’s campaigns, despite Simone and Dani insisting Babe had proven herself. When she said Babe had proven she had serious lapses in judgment, Simone guessed one of them was doing Josh. Kendall claimed it was between her and Babe; Simone called it business, and Kendall agreed, family business. Bianca tried to explain that Babe was feeling guilty, adding that Josh was just like Kendall and their mom. Josh thought that was better than being like her, just sitting back and taking it. Where had letting people walk all over her get her? Bianca started to leave, but Josh apologized and asked her to stay; she was the only person he knew who always made any kind of sense. Bianca knew Josh wasn’t over Babe. She admitted she had major issues with how Babe handled things, but her intentions were always good. She urged him to try to remember how tough this was for Babe, and ask himself what was more important, his love for Babe, or his pride? Just give her some time, “It's not over unless you make it over.” IT LOOKS SERIOUS Adam blamed Babe for J.R.’s relapse—one look at her and J.R. crashed! He wanted her to stay away from him or she was going to end up a lot worse than he was. Seeing Jeff hurry into the room, Adam asked what the hell he was doing in there? He’s the reason J.R was in here in the first place—his son! What is this, some kind of a conspiracy? Tad told Julia the results of Emma McDermott’s DNA -*test*-('") were in. The whole thing was a scam, part of Hayward's sick little game, “She’s not even remotely related to me or Dixie.” When Julia said J.R. hadn’t been responding to treatment, Babe begged her not to say that—he couldn’t die! Adam snarled if he did survive, she and Josh started this, and now his father was in there finishing the job. Babe said Josh saved J.R.! Adam told her not to spin Josh as J.R.’s savior, and prayed his son wouldn’t die. Tad said his brother was in there doing everything he possibly could to save J.R.'s life, and Adam wondered when he decided that J.R. was less important to him than his big brother, Jeff, and that science project he called a son? Tad insisted he loved J.R. every bit as much as he did, and he was willing to do anything to pull him through this, “Because, personally, I don't think Dixie can survive losing another child.” Tad left a message for Dixie to get back to the hospital quickly if she got this, “Something's happened, it looks serious.” Adam spoke on his phone, urging someone to hurry! Babe told Amanda that Jamie was right, she shouldn’t have been the first person J.R. saw when he woke up. Amanda insisted J.R. was a lucky guy because she loved him. Tad spoke to J.R., urging him to come back to them because his mother needed him. It worked, and J.R.’s heart rate returned to normal. Tad said he was proud of him; he thanked him for loving his mother so much. Adam wanted Babe to go home, warning that one look at her or the sound of her voice could put J.R. right over the edge. Palmer arrived and wanted to call a Board meeting to ban Babe from his nephew’s room. Jeff said for the moment, J.R.'s only visitors would be his mother and father. Babe went to Fusion; she and Kendall looked wordlessly at each other. IT’S TOO LATE David taunted Dixie, admitting he’d lied about Emma’s DNA -*test*-('") to give her false hope, and to hurt her as much as she’d hurt him. She killed his dream of being with her, so he killed her dream of finding Kate. He only wondered if the pain she felt would be enough. Would she really be able to feel as hopeless, as bereft, as annihilated as he did? Was his pain any realer to her now? Dixie cried as she said if anything, his pain was even less real to her now—he was sick and twisted! She sobbed she’d kill him, but David said it was too late; he was already dead, thanks to her. After getting a call, David took pleasure in telling Dixie than J.R. had taken a turn for the worse; she might not have time to make it to the hospital. PLEASE DON’T TAKE MY SUNSHINE AWAY Dixie rushed into the hospital, and was relieved J.R. had pulled through. She sat by her son’s bedside and sang to him, “You Are My Sunshine.” Tad and Jamie went to David’s cabin; they broke down the door, and found it completely cleared out. A FINE COUPLE WITH THREE FOSTER CHILDREN As Annie insisted they’d never find Emma, Erin came home with the little girl. ”What's with the big cop standing in the hall?” she asked. Ms. Thompson told Annie to please make this easy on the child, “You have no choice in the matter.” She explained Emma would be placed with a fine couple with three foster children. Both Annie and Emma sobbed as Emma was taken from her mother’s arms.

Thursday, November 16, 2006 TO MAKE THIS RIGHT At the hospital, Ryan told Jeff they needed his help. He and Annie explained they needed another DNA -*test*-('") to prove Emma was Annie’s child; Julia was visibly shaken when he concluded, “Now the state has taken Emma away.” Jeff had heard of chimeras, and said now they knew what they were looking for, and wouldn’t stop until they found it. Ryan left to take care of some unfinished business, and Jeff urged Annie to pull herself together, for Emma. They’d do whatever was necessary to make it right. When Jack arrived in response to his call, Ryan asked for his help in getting Emma back to Annie. He didn’t have time to bring another attorney up to speed, and wanted Jack to help clean up the mess made with Tad’s DNA -*test*-('"). He watched a child get ripped from her mother's arms, crying for her mommy, begging to stay. It didn’t have to happen, and Jack was part of the reason it did. He needed Emma back in Annie’s arms tonight. Jack agreed he’d do whatever he could. When Jeff left to put a rush on the samples, Julia told Annie she was so sorry; she was the reason they took her daughter. When Annie asked if she had any idea what it was like to be a mother, to have a stranger tell you that you don’t deserve your child, Julia admitted she did. Annie said she knew how that felt, but she did it someone else anyway? Julia sighed if she had known… ABANDON ALL HOPE Tad and Jamie found a DVD player David left behind with a message for them; Jamie pulled up the screen titled “Welcome to my Hell”. David’s message blamed the Martins for Leora’s death and said he went to sleep and woke up every single morning in the same place, Hell. Well, now it was Tad’s turn. What was that famous "Dante's Inferno" quote? “Abandon all hope, ye who enter here." Well, his great hope was that Tad never finds his way out. Tad realized David was right, he was to blame for burying his only hope and being too stupid to dig it up before it died. He knew better than anyone that Hayward was a liar, but he jumped at the hope that he could crawl out from under all this guilt, that he’d know what it was like to go through a day, an hour, without hating himself. As Jamie insisted Hayward was the one who should pay, not him, Ryan came in and wanted a piece of that action. Tad was sorry to hear about Emma being taken from Annie, and thought there was still one person who might know where David went. THINK AGAIN! Amanda overheard Erin asking Jonathan to promise he wouldn’t make things worse by kidnapping Emma for Annie, and he was going to get that little girl back and screw up his life for good. After Erin left, Amanda told him to think again if he thought she was going to let him throw away the life he deserved, He should just be there for his family and friends; he was loved and needed in their lives. SOMEBODY ELSE’S SINS Babe told Kendall she was signing over her shares of Fusion and getting out of her family’s lives for good, but Bianca urged her to keep her shares. She wasn’t responsible for what J.R. had done, and nobody should have to pay for somebody else's sins. Babe told Bianca she really wanted to do this to make up for some of the damage she’d done, and asked Kendall if she would help her? She always made excuses for what she did, and now wanted the lies and excuses and pain to stop, so if she couldn’t make things right, at least she could get out of their way because she has already taken enough from both of them and won’t take any more. Kendall called this so Babe, taking the easy way out every time, “Well, not this time. Not a chance.” She insisted she stay, do her job and finish what she started, “Shove your shares, wipe your raccoon eyes, and just get back to work, please.” When Tad arrived to talk to Babe, Bianca told her sister she loved her for what she’d just done. On the roof, Babe asked how she was supposed to live with what she’d done and with what her father had done? She was just like her father! Tad told her never to say that—she was nothing like her father! The difference between her and her father was that she tries to fix it. She fights like hell to make up for the pain, she keeps going until she makes things right, “That's a big difference.” He held her in his arms as she cried. JUST LET ME HELP YOU In an empty exam room, Julia cried as she berated herself, "You knew what it feels like. But you did it to somebody else anyway." Jamie came in and comforted her, but Julia pushed him away. EMMA’S GOING TO COME HOME Ryan returned and told Annie not to worry; Jackson was doing everything in his power to make sure Emma came home to her. Jack told her Emma was okay, with a really good family. She had some dinner, she watched a movie with the other kids. Ryan asked if that’s all he could do? Jack said he’d just gotten started, and promised Annie they’d get her little girl back home to her. He excused himself to take a call, and Annie sighed, “Just not tonight, or tomorrow, or the next day. What if we don’t get her back? What if this -*test*-('") doesn't show that there's…” Ryan held her in his arms as he said Emma was going to come home.
