Thursday, October 5, 2006 THIS IS JUST NOT WORKING Jonathan called to ask about Lily, and Erica told him Jack was bringing her home from the hospital right now. He wondered if she was ready, and Erica admitted she’d made some progress, but really had a long way to go. She was talking a little, but was still so withdrawn. When Lily and Jack arrived at home, Lily was upset when Erica said Jonathan had called. Sean d said if he’d had any clue about that perv, he never would have helped her sneak out of the party, but at least he was dead, “Good job, Jonathan!” Lily told Sean he could be nice, but he made her head hurt. Erica wasn’t happy to learn Sean was staying for the school year. She reminded Jack they agreed they wouldn’t let their children interfere with their lives, and said this was just not working. She needed some time away… He could call it a business trip. Jack wondered if he could ask where she was going? THE HEART BEHIND THE DARKNESS Without giving him details, Kendall told Ryan that Zach had told her more than she wanted to know, and she didn’t know if she could deal with it. She should have just trusted him, stayed in denial—that was the happiest place on Earth! On the upside, Zach didn’t bury Greg alive. On the downside, he may as well have. She didn’t know if she could live with a man who was capable of anything. The problem was, she still loved Zach. She knew the terrible things he could have done and that he only played by his own rules, but before tonight she believed that no matter how bad Zach got, he always had good reasons for doing what he did. “The heart behind the darkness,” Ryan noted. Kendall agreed, exactly. She didn’t know if she could live with that, but she didn’t know if she could live without him. She didn’t know what to do! Ryan said she’d figure it out, in her own time. He left, but returned with a take-out eat-a-thon; he looked forward to Spike getting teeth so he could enjoy it with them. WORKING THE ANGLES Zach repeated they did it. He and Dixie dug a hole, and they buried Madden. If he arrested Tad for perjury, he thought his whole career was going to go up in smoke. Dixie agreed she and Zach would -*test*-('")ify that they killed Greg Madden, just like Tad said, so there was no perjury. Tad would walk. Derek called it a major scam from the beginning, working the angles, and wondered how any of them were going to sleep at night? He uncuffed Tad and left, and Zach said he’d sleep like a baby. He told Tad he threw a hell of a victory party, but Tad didn’t feel like celebrating. Dixie thanked Tad for everything before leaving. Back at her room, Zach admitted he made the disc of Madden, but denied putting it in J.R.’s drawer. He agreed he knew who buried Madden, but thought they should leave it alone. Dixie thought it was time she found her own place, but Zach insisted there was no reason for her to leave. Jamie went to Tad’s and asked if he was all right? Tad nodded it was over, and Dixie was free, but Jamie wanted to know about him. Tad didn’t think it mattered. It was time to move ahead; they just had to figure out how. Jamie agreed, it’s a lot to live with, but they could handle it. STRANGER THINGS HAVE HAPPENED Josh asked Babe if she was ready to give them a chance? They’d tell J.R. together. He’d have to deal, because they were in love and there was no turning back. Babe insisted she was there to focus on her work, and Josh left, wanting to make things easier for her. Amanda thought Babe looked like she’d been through a food processor—what did J.R. do to her now? Babe sighed he let her fall in love with another man. Amanda shared her feelings for Jonathan with her friend, and Babe admitted she was in love with both J.R. and Josh. Amanda wished Babe had a third choice… I’M GOING TO FIGHT FOR YOU Jeff took a room at the Valley Inn to be closer to Josh, who agreed they could spend some time together. Josh asked what he would do if he was in love with a married woman? Jeff mused he’d want to find out more about her husband. Did he make her happy? Did he treat her well, the way she deserved to be treated? “If he’s an ass, doesn’t give her what she deserves, I’d fight like hell for her.” Josh noted that was the first piece of paternal advice, and he pretty much nailed it! Jeff saw Erica checking in to a room of her own and grinned, “Now, would you get a look at the girl next door?” Josh returned to ConFusion and told Babe, “I’m going to fight for you.”

Friday, October 6, 2006 A GOOD START When Jack admonished him about his laziness, Sean suggested they hit some clubs; he could use a night out after Erica bolted out of there with a small family’s worth of luggage. He didn’t tank his marriage, did he? Jack said no, he only tanked his boat, thank God. Erica just needed some time and space to concentrate on her business. He said Barbara may have let him get away with anything, but here he was part of a family and would pull his weight. He brought up the party on the yacht, and wondered if there was sex at this awesome party he threw? If there was, he hoped to God he had the good sense to use protection and not flush his life down the drain. Sean sighed they weren’t going to have “the talk”, were they? He knew about pregnancy and STDs—he wasn’t 12! If he wanted him gone, he’d go. He was upset when Jack told him Barbara had appointed him as his guardian, and accused his uncle of just wanting to punish him for trashing his boat. Jack denied it, and said he knew he still missed his dad. He was his pride and joy, his son. When he lost Travis, they started to lose him and his mother just gave up on him. Now he had family, he had him, and he wasn’t going to give up on him, but wanted him to meet him halfway. Sean promised he wouldn’t steal any more boats, “The rest, we'll see.” Jack called that a good start. BABIES, GOOD, BOYS, BAD. DADDY LOVES ME Colby ran from the room, disgusted by her father’s concern over Krystal’s pregnancy, and admitted to Sydney that she thought she was pregnant. God, what was she going to do? It was such a mistake! Sydney gave her a hug. How long had she known? Colby told her she just had morning sickness, and Syd insisted she find out for sure, go to the drugstore and get a -*test*-('"). Colby talked Syd into going for her, warning her not to get caught. Adam asked if she realized this would be the first time he’s ever had a child while he’s still happily married to its mother? She had no idea what that means to him! Who would have thought at the time he least expected it, he’d be a father the right way? It was meant to be. This child would be a -*test*-('")ament to their love that will never end. Krystal looked worried as she returned his hug. She reminded Adam that Colby just got her daddy back, and now was looking at losing him all over again to a surprise sibling. She suggested he reassure his daughter. Sydney returned with the -*test*-('"), and Colby started to look at the instructions when Adam asked if he could talk to her? She would always be his little girl, and she wasn’t going to have to grow up and move on for a long, long time. Colby got out of there as quickly as she could, not realizing she dropped the instructions for the one-step pregnancy -*test*-('"). I MEANT WHAT I SAID Josh insisted he wasn’t letting her go, and Babe begged him to swear to her he wouldn’t tell J.R.! J.R. came into the club, and asked what Josh was doing there? Josh said he had good news—he’d be staying on at Fusion after Simone rehired him! J.R. wanted Babe to tell Simone she wanted Josh out, but Babe insisted she couldn’t do that. Babe thanked Josh for not saying anything to J.R., but he insisted he wasn’t done; he meant what he said. Jonathan overheard J.R. trashing Amanda, and warned him to back off. Jonathan worried the arrangement he and Amanda had was keeping her from finding true love, and was taken aback when she said he was her perfect guy. She quickly covered, saying she meant how he had loved Lily, and agreed she’d let him know if the right guy came along. HELLO, NEIGHBOR Erica was upset that her room wasn’t ready, and joined Jeff for a club soda at the bar. He urged her to talk to him about why she was there, and she admitted she felt she was losing herself in the midst of all the family crises. He laughed when she suggested maybe she wasn’t very good at marriage, and Erica had to admit after ten of them, she should be an expert. Learning that Jack couldn’t escort her to the launch party, Jeff offered to take her, and Erica accepted. WHO ELSE IN THIS HOUSE Adam saw something on the floor and bent to pick it up. Seeing the instructions for a pregnancy -*test*-('"); he held it out to Krystal, “I assume this is yours.” Told no, he thought it must be Babe’s—wouldn’t it be wonderful? Both Chandler women pregnant!” Babe and J.R. came in, and she insisted it wasn’t hers. Adam said to come on, who else in this house would have a pregnancy… He broke off when Colby rushed into the room.

Monday, October 9, 2006 DNA IS NOT DESTINY After Ryan went to the penthouse to find a book, he and Annie spent time together, drinking hot chocolate and talking. Annie asked how she was ever going to tell Emma what her father had done—she couldn’t even imagine doing that! She asked, after his childhood with his father, how he learned to trust people? Ryan sighed he made a lot of mistakes and hurt people he loved, all because of his fear that his father’s violence would be passed down to him. It took him a while to realize that DNA was not destiny. But, Emma didn’t have to worry about that because Terry wasn’t her biological dad. Annie said she thought about his offer to help find Emma's biological father, and decided to leave it alone. Ryan told Emma a story, and covered them with a blanket after Annie and Emma fell asleep in front of the fire. ALL YOUR DREAMS BLOWN TO PIECES David went to Dixie’s room and told her he knew where Kate was but wasn’t going to tell her. He showed her the picture, which Dixie recognized as one from the box of pictures Madden kept, and said he’d -*test*-('")ed the child against Tad’s DNA. Dixie was stunned to see it was a match, and accused Hayward of playing sick mind games. David raged about how she had hurt him, and how he wanted her to hurt, just like he did, all her dreams blown to pieces. He thought the power to keep her from her little girl would set him free, but it wouldn’t. He’d just be living with that hate forever, and couldn’t do it anymore. Maybe the chance to have real revenge was instead given to him as a chance to make it up to her. He handed her a second picture, taken a few weeks ago, and Dixie laughed with joy as he said this was her daughter, and he would take her to her. IT COULD GET MESSY At ConFusion, Amanda questioned Josh about his feelings for Babe, not wanting to see her friend hurt. Josh said he loved Babe, and would do anything to get her away from J.R. Amanda warned it could get messy, but Josh was willing to do whatever it took. As Di and Aidan celebrated their successful night hang-gliding and planned a Mexican adventure, Erin asked to talk to Aidan for a minute. She said she was so sorry to have hurt him, and she really bungled their breakup. Both agreed it was easier to move past a breakup if you still thought the person you split with was pretty great. After Di returned to the table, something caught Aidan’s eye, and he reacted quickly. IF YOU LOVE ME Colby told Adam the pregnancy -*test*-('") kit was Sydney’s, but Syd overheard and called her a lying ho! Forced to tell the truth, or some of it, Colby admitted the -*test*-('") was hers. Krystal suggested they deal with first things first, and had Colby take the -*test*-('") to find out if she was pregnant. When the results showed up, Colby read them wrong, and was sure she was pregnant. She was relieved when Krystal showed her the -*test*-('") was negative, and told Adam and J.R. it was a false alarm. Adam was sure it was that Sean Montgomery punk, and said he was going to have him put away for the rest of his natural life! Babe gaped at her when Colby declared it was Josh Madden. Babe exclaimed she was lying, but Colby spun a tale of how Josh had gotten her into bed. The next thing she knew, he was on top of her, and it was happening. She was terrified. She tried to block it out, but remembered in middle of doing it, he called her "Babe." Babe accused her of lying to cover her ass, but Adam shouted at her to shut up! Colby claimed she didn't want J.R. to know that Josh got her into bed, and that's why she told him he was sleeping with Babe. He couldn't have Babe, so he took her instead. If her daddy loved her, he’d make Josh pay. Alone with Colby, Babe called her a lying bitch! Colby thought she should know, “Josh never did lay a hand on me because he was too busy laying you.” Her only chance to save Josh from death by Chandler was to ‘fess up and tell J.R. the truth. If she didn’t come clean, her lover boy was headed straight to prison! THAT’S THE SCUM! Aidan caught a customer trying to slip a girl a date rape drug, and the police were called. Two officers arrived, and Jonathan said that was quick. He pointed as he thanked them, “Him right there.” That was the scum that was trying to slip his date a rufie. The cop said they’d call backup for him, but were there to find Josh Madden. Josh was stunned when he was cuffed and arrested for statutory rape. As he was read his rights, Josh exclaimed it was ridiculous!

Tuesday, October 10, 2006 LIZA, THE SEQUEL Josh told Derek he was very clear about the events of that night, and never laid a finger on Colby Chandler! Meanwhile, Colby was telling a different story to Lt. Perry. Erica and Jeff arrived to support Josh and bail him out after getting a call from Babe. Erica insisted Colby was nothing more than Liza, the sequel, and said J.R. knew better than anyone that if Josh was foolish enough to go to bed with a Chandler, it sure as heck wouldn’t be Colby. Flanked by her father and brother, Colby tearfully accused Josh of using her, and Adam was furious that Erica claimed Colby was lying. After bailing Josh out, Erica blamed Babe for the mess her son was in, but Jeff advised her to lay off Babe unless she wanted to give up all the ground they’d made with their son. THIS IS SO WRONG! Babe insisted to her mama that Josh would never sell her out, and that Colby was just out to get her and Josh. The Carey women tried to get the truth out of Sydney, who conveniently couldn’t remember when she found Colby hiding in the tunnels. Adam, J.R. and Colby returned home after filing charges against Josh, and Adam was upset that Babe and Krystal didn’t believe Colby’s account of what had happened. Babe asked J.R. if he didn’t see how wrong it was to let Colby get away with something that cruel? J.R. said he loved how trusting she was, how she always saw the good in people. He wished he could see the good in people, even Josh Madden, but he couldn’t. Adam told Krystal that Jeff Martin may have given Josh his DNA, but it was plain the apple didn’t fall far from the Kane family tree. Krystal pro-*test*-('")ed that Josh may not be anybody’s prince, but Colby was the one that’s rotten here. THIS IS NO LIE David came to take Dixie to her little girl, and was upset that she had called Tad to join them. He insisted he wasn’t lying about having found Kate, and agreed to tell them where she was as a way of proving he wasn’t out to hurt Dixie. OH, MY GOD, IT’S KATE! Ryan, Annie and Emma were having breakfast at BJ’s when Kendall came in with Spike and his nanny. Kendall wasn’t pleased at the happy family picture they presented. As Ryan got back to the story about Princess Emma, Tad and Dixie came in. Dixie stared at the little girl, “Oh, my god, it’s Kate!” Sydney came into BJ’s and told Sean he was so lucky she found him—he seriously needed her help! She filled him in on Colby’s pregnancy scare, and how she had accused another man of statutory rape after her dad found out she had had sex. Sean was relieved Colby wasn’t pregnant, and he was off the hook. Sydney took credit for selling the story by backing Colby up, and suggested they pretend, even for a little while, that the two of them had hooked up. As they left together, Colby came up and said hello to Sean. He acknowledged her, “Hey,” but left with Sydney. RIGHT HERE ON THIS VERY SPOT Babe found Josh on the roof at Fusion and told him she was so, so sorry! If she had just told the truth, he never would have been charged. Kendall came to the door and heard as Babe goes on that when he was supposedly luring Colby into his bed, he was making love to her right here on this very spot, and she was going to tell everyone—the cops, Adam and her husband! THAT’S MY CHILD! Dixie started toward Emma, but Tad held her back. They couldn’t just waltz in here and pounce; they had to go slowly. Dixie insisted that was their child, but Tad urged her to let him take the lead; he’d make the introductions, and do the talking. David watched through the door as Tad and Dixie start over to their table. Dixie stared at Emma as Ryan said he was glad everything worked out for them, and it was nice to see them out together. David watched as Dixie breathed, “What a beautiful little girl.” Dixie couldn’t take her eyes off Emma as Tad asked Ryan if he could talk to him alone for a minute? Annie stood and said she had to get Emma to her play group, and it was really nice meeting both of them. Dixie quickly asked her to stay; they could talk, and Tad and Ryan could catch up. Ryan asked Tad what’s going on here? As Annie started to go, Dixie grabbed her and exclaimed, “You can’t leave—that’s my child!”

Wednesday, October 11, 2006 IT’S UP TO KENDALL NOW Zach sat in his office and stared at the divorce papers. When Myrtle arrived, he said he’d be a free man soon. It's what Kendall wanted. Myrtle asked him to let her talk to Kendall, and say some of the things he never managed to say, but Zach sighed this was between him and his wife. It was up to Kendall now. SOME SORT OF TWISTED SYMMETRY Kendall listened as Babe insisted this had gone on long enough, and she was going to tell J.R. the truth. Josh asked if she’d spill the truth just to keep him out of jail? Forget Colby and forget prison! Would she tank her marriage to be with him? Babe admitted she wouldn't tell. Josh said J.R. found out about them, he wanted it to be because she wants everyone to know. Babe wasn’t sure that would ever happen, and she was so sorry for everything. Kendall came out and declared she’d be more than sorry when she was done with her! Josh accused her of only wanting to stick it to J.R. and Babe. Kendall insisted she just found him, and wasn’t about to lose him because Babe was a lying, cheating vow-breaker. THE PERFECT TARGET FOR COLBY Krystal told J.R. that she was the reason his sister was crying wolf. Her instincts screamed it was that Montgomery boy; he was the one she’d been mooning about for weeks. Anyway, this was more about her pregnancy than anything else. She said his hatred for Josh made him the perfect target for Colby. She understood he didn’t like Josh, but that didn’t mean he deserved to go to prison for something he didn’t do. J.R. asked why she and Babe were so convinced Josh didn’t take Colby to his room that night? Why believe him over Colby? Krystal said she wasn’t a big fan of not believing a girl in this situation, but this girl, and this guy? Babe was a sucker for the underdog. Did he really want to put Josh in that position again? He should find out for sure, before he sent an innocent man to prison and risked losing everything else in the process. I DON’T THINK I HAVE A CHOICE Dixie frightened Annie and Emma when she insisted the little girl was her child, not Annie’s. Ryan asked Annie if she was all right, and she questioned why Dixie said she had her daughter? Ryan had no idea, but there had to be something else going on here and he was going to straighten it out. Annie left with Emma, and Dixie tried to follow—they couldn’t let her go, that is Kate! Ryan needed her to help him understand. Why did she think that little Emma is Kate? Learning of David’s DNA -*test*-('"), Ryan insisted they couldn’t believe Hayward! Tad admitted they didn’t know for sure, and Dixie was horrified to realize she had scared Emma. She was so sorry! She rushed out, but David caught up with her and said they let her get away—they hadn’t come this far so that she could lose hope. What did she see in her face? Dixie sighed she saw Kate. David said he owed her hope and her daughter, and told her to come with him. Tad said he had no choice but to find the truth, and convinced Ryan to help him. Ryan insisted they’d do it his way; in the meantime, stay away from Annie and Emma, and make sure Dixie stayed away from them, too. MY LIFE TOTALLY SUCKS Colby found Sean and Sydney laughing together, and asked what’s with him blowing her off at BJ’s? Sean said he was sorry, he got orders from the boss man. He was living a pure life now, which meant she was off limits. He left, and Colby asked Sydney how she got him to ditch her? Syd pointed out that she saved her ass, and Colby said her life totally sucked—Sydney could have it! Syd said she could keep her life—it was all hers! HAVE YOU EVER HEARD THE WORD “ADOPTED”? At the Miranda Center, Krystal was watching Emma when Dixie and David came in. Dixie said that child was Kate, and implored Krystal to help her, for Tad. Krystal agreed to let Dixie talk to Emma, and Dixie was taken aback when Emma mentioned that her daddy wasn’t her daddy. As Dixie asked if she’d ever heard the word “adopted”, Annie returned and ordered her to get away from her daughter! A BROTHER-SISTER THING J.R. arrived as Kendall and Josh argued; Josh warned her not to say anything more or she’d lose a brother. Babe got J.R. to leave with her, but refused to talk to him about Josh any further. Talking might do them more harm than good, just take her word for it. As Josh warned if she ever wanted to have a brother, she would back off, Bianca came out and asked, “If this is a brother-sister thing, can I have a vote?”

pika- 10-18-2006

Thursday, October 12, 2006 IS SHE LYING? Adam asked J.R. if he really thought Josh Madden could do this, seduce a teenager? J.R. said he already went after Chief Frye’s daughter. Adam sighed they knew Colby took the pregnancy -*test*-('") because she thought she was pregnant, so either she was compromised, or was lying to protect some high school moron who’s actually responsible for this. So, which is it? Is she lying about who she was with? J.R. insisted Josh was out for revenge against him, so he went after his kid sister. Adam thought Colby’s accusation served them very well. It would be very difficult for Josh to seduce Babe from behind prison bars. J.R. sighed Adam thought she was lying, and now he had him thinking. They had no proof that Josh touched Colby. Adam felt that Josh Madden had harmed this family, one way or the other. So, all they had to do was sit back and keep their doubts to themselves, and let justice give this interloper what was coming to him. SURE THING, HAVE AT IT? Annie incredulously asked Krystal how she could let her do this? Krystal was so sorry; Dixie said that she thought Emma was her daughter. Annie insisted, “She is my daughter!” When Krystal insisted she had her eye on her little girl the whole time, Ryan came in and said except when she let a complete stranger talk to her. Krystal pro-*test*-('")ed Dixie was not a stranger, and she said the little girl might be Tad’s. Annie asked if she just said “sure thing, have at it”? Erin arrived and was upset that Krystal let someone approach one of their kids. Annie threatened to call the police, and Dixie asked if she would tell them what she and Emma had to do with Greg Madden? Ryan urged her to go home with Erin and Emma, and he would handle this. Ryan asked Dixie if she was just trying to play him at BJ’s so she could roll over here? Dixie insisted she just wanted to talk to her, and that little girl said “My daddy is not my daddy”. Ryan agreed she deserved to find Kate, but not like this. He’d help her, even go as far as to find out what he could about Emma’s background, but what was David doing, trying to look like a hero, even if it meant tormenting a young woman and her daughter? He’d hurt people he cared about before. Do it again, and he’d answer to him. Krystal had to admit she understood why Dixie needed to know, and to let Tad know so he might be able to breathe again; he might be able to relax. When Adam arrived, Dixie was taken aback to learn Krystal was pregnant. A LIFETIME OF KANE WOMEN Kendall was delighted to see Bianca, who hugged her brand-new big brother, “Welcome to a lifetime of Kane women.” Binks admitted Erica flew her in to play adorable little sis, and asked how she was doing so far? Josh was amazed when Bianca got Kendall to back off about Babe by asking if she wanted to lose the brother she just found. Bianca offered her help, but Josh said if he had to choose between her and Babe… Bianca knew he’d choose the woman he loved. Josh asked her to talk Babe into leaving J.R., to be with him. EITHER WAY, I WIN! Babe went to the school to ask Sean what really happened the night of the party, promising to cover his butt as soon as he got Josh off. Sean wouldn’t admit to anything, and left with Sydney. Colby was furious that Babe made her look like a slut and a nut job; she and her mama better stay out of her family’s lives, or her lover, Josh, was going to go to prison, “Your truth, or my version. Either way, I win.” IF YOU WANT TO HELP ME Annie asked for Erin’s help as she prepared to take Emma and run, but Ryan arrived and insisted she and Emma were staying there. THIS IS YOUR SHOT Babe insisted she wouldn’t let Josh go to prison, and asked her to let her handle it. Kendall declared she owed the Kanes big. This was her shot; if she blew it, her life blew up along with it. Babe insisted she didn’t have to threaten her; she cared about Josh. YOU WHINE, THEREFORE YOU LIE Colby came home and told J.R. that Babe cornered her at school; she accused her of lying about Josh, and made sure everybody knew she lost her V-card! J.R. put his arms around her, “I know that you’re lying. You whine, therefore you lie.” He just wanted to say thank you. She might make a decent Chandler after all! They’d see if she could pull this off, or broke under pressure and copped to the truth. Colby grinned he was so welcome! So, what if Josh didn’t touch her? He still deserved this, right? Babe came in, and they both turned to face her.

pika- 10-18-2006

Friday, October 13, 2006 ROSES ARE RED Kendall found a poem and a dried rose Zach had given her, and thought back to happier times before Zach told her the truth and she learned she was in love with a man who let people be tortured, who laughed and smiled, ate and made love as if he had no clue that a man could die at any minute. FATHER AND SON, TOGETHER AGAIN As Zach hesitated over the divorce papers, he recalled falling in love with Kendall, and her joy at realizing how much she wanted to have her son. He thought of promising he’d fight for her and her son, and suddenly saw a vision of his father, who asked what was waiting for, inspiration from above, “How about from below?” Father and son, together again. He told him to sign the papers, let her go, or he would only cause her more pain. When Zach told him to rot in Hell, Alexander laughed that Zach was right there with him, and always would be. THE ANSWER IS NO When Adam went to get the car, Krystal told Dixie she knew she was wondering if the baby was Adam’s or Tad’s. She insisted it was Adam’s, and didn’t want Dixie to chop their marriage to pieces because she knew about the night she and Tad were together. Dixie assured her she didn’t want to hurt her marriage; she’d caused more than enough damage since she’d been back. After the Chandlers left, David returned and Dixie told him she was going to take Ryan up on his offer of help. David argued she couldn’t trust Ryan, while he would do anything to get Kate back, things that other people wouldn't even dream of. Annie had already proven she wasn’t afraid to run with Kate. Dixie had to beat her to it, and he’d help her. Stunned, Dixie asked if he was saying kidnap the child? Is he insane? She didn’t even know if she was hers! What if he was wrong? What if he was lying to her again? “What if I'm not?” David asked. I KNOW WHAT I HAVE TO DO! Bianca urged Josh to have patience, but he insisted he knew what he had to do, and left. WHEN DID YOU STOP TRUSTING ME? Ryan insisted Annie couldn’t just take off. There had to be another way, and they’d find it. He was surprised when he asked her to tell him the whole story, and Annie accused him of turning on her. He asked when she stopped trusting him? Annie insisted she had told him everything he needed to know. If he wanted to help her, accept that what she was telling him was the truth. Dixie Martin gave birth to a little girl, but not the little girl upstairs in her room. She swore on Emma’s life that was her child! Ryan agreed he believed her, and wasn’t going to let anybody take her daughter away. Annie sighed with relief as she embraced him. ABOUT AS WRONG AS IT GETS Kendall filled her sister in on what Zach had done with no regrets. Bianca still believed in Zach’s love for her, but Kendall said it was like one minute Zach was the man she shared this deep soul connection with, and then the next, it was as if he had no soul at all. He changed just like that, and slipped so far away she couldn’t reach him. As Kendall said she didn’t think there was a solution for them, a messenger delivered an envelope with the signed divorce papers. HOW ARE YOU GOING TO PROVE IT? Babe said that was some hug! Was J.R. just bursting with love for his sister, or thanking her for helping to finally get Josh out of her life? Colby sneered if Josh went to prison, it would all be because of her, and challenged her end it. Babe urged J.R. to be a better man, and help her save Josh like she saved him from going to prison. It was the right thing to do. They needed to make the decision as a married couple that no matter how angry they got, they wouldn’t lash out or go looking for revenge. If they could make that promise and keep it, their marriage could survive anything. Colby cornered Josh when he went to the Chandler mansion, and said he needed to do what Babe wouldn’t—tell J.R. that he bagged Babe, and she’d admit that he never touched her. When Josh told her to go to Hell, Colby started screaming and accused him of attacking her. Babe declared that was enough—she was ending this, now! After asking Josh to leave, she told J.R. that Josh did not touch Colby, and she could prove it. Krystal cautioned her to just take a breather, but J.R. asked how she was going to prove it?

pika- 10-18-2006

Monday, October 16, 2006 NO MORE LIES As Babe was about to tell J.R. the truth, he had something to say first. When Babe sighed that their marriage was broken, J.R. asked if she was ending it? He thought of Adam’s suggestion that it would be hard for Josh to seduce Babe from behind bars, and said he wanted the truth out—Josh never touched Colby! He admitted that he wanted Josh out of their lives, and almost let Colby do it for them. For a second there, he was the man he never wanted to be, the man who didn’t deserve his wife, and he wanted to be a better man if it wasn’t too late. Colby was upset that her family didn’t believe her, and furious when Adam dropped charges against Josh and J.R. recommitted himself to his wife. Babe told J.R. she loved him, and vowed they would fix their marriage. EVIDENCE FROM THE CHILD HERSELF David taunted Tad about giving Dixie the one thing she most wanted and then sharing his life with her and Kate. Tad reminded him that Dixie was still in love with Zach and dismissed the DNA results, but was shaken when David told him of Emma’s statement that her daddy wasn’t really her daddy. STRANGERS WITH CANDY Annie was relieved and grateful that Ryan believed that she was Emma’s mother, but refused when he suggested a DNA -*test*-('"). She didn’t mean to sound like a bitch, but she didn’t really care if Tad and Dixie were okay with it or not. Emma was not adopted—she gave birth to her! Ryan agreed he’d make everyone understand that Emma was not Kate. Annie told Jonathan that some battles were too big even for a guy like Ryan, and sighed she was just overreacting to things she’d done, things she wished she could get past. Did he ever feel like that? Jonathan knew what it was like to run as fast and as far as you could from the past, knowing it could catch up with you at any second. David showed up and told Annie they had to talk. Annie insisted he couldn’t have run a DNA -*test*-('") on Emma, and was shaken when Emma recognized David as the man who’d given her lollipops. Annie told Jonathan this was all getting to be too much, and asked for his help. WITHOUT HOPE Zach urged Dixie not to get her hopes up based on information from David Hayward, and to protect her heart; Dixie insisted she wasn’t giving up hope. When Zach said there was only room in his heart for one woman, Dixie felt the woman he loved was a fool. WHAT ELSE ARE YOU HOLDING BACK FROM ME? Tad was unimpressed when Ryan said he’d taken it on faith that Emma was Annie’s daughter. Tad asked if Annie had explained what Emma said about her daddy not being her daddy, and wondered what else Ryan was holding back from him. When Ryan insisted Annie had never met Greg Madden, Tad produced Emma’s birth certificate showing Greg as the attending physician. LOVE DOESN’T MATTER Kendall insisted that Zach signing the divorce papers meant that her marriage was over, but Bianca argued he was putting the decision back on her. She could either file them and end her marriage, or rip them up and go back to her husband. Love like that didn’t just disappear because of a signature! Kendall sighed love didn’t matter, not now. Erica came in and started making plans for her “New Beginnings” sweep launch. She invited Josh to join in and see what a joy it could be to be a part of this family. Josh said fine, he was in; Erica wasn’t pleased when he spoke of bringing Babe as his date. Later, Josh told Erica and Bianca to color him a free man—he was off the hook from Colby’s pathetic charges! Erica exclaimed that was wonderful, and as it should be! When Bianca noted he didn’t look happy, Josh worried that Babe could be paying for his freedom right now. They knew how J.R. could be when he got angry. If that S.O.B. laid a finger on her… Despite her best efforts, Kendall couldn’t get Zach out of her mind, and went to his office to see him.

pika- 10-18-2006

Tuesday, October 17, 2006 THIS IS OUR GOODBYE? Zach was pleased when Kendall showed up at his office, despite her claiming she had no idea why she had come. Zach thought she was there because she’d realized she belonged with him. Kendall called that ridiculous—how could she belong with someone as cold-hearted as he? Zach agreed, it didn’t make sense, and asked if that was their goodbye? Kendall admitted she’d tried her damnedest to make it go away, but she was still crazy in love with him and didn’t want to live without him. They made love, exploring each other’s bodies and rejoicing in being together again before ripping the divorce papers to shreds. BECAUSE OF YOU Ryan returned to the penthouse to find Annie and Emma gone. Tad angrily told Ryan, “If Emma is my daughter, it means I’ve lost her all over again because of you.” Ryan insisted he believed Emma was Annie’s child, but Tad reminded him of Greg Madden’s name on Emma’s birth certificate as attending physician right there in black and white. Like it or not, by disappearing with that kid, Annie had just given a boatload of credence to Hayward's claim. Jonathan came in and said if Annie did take off, he would talk to David Hayward. He came in here talking about some DNA -*test*-('") that supposedly proved Emma was Tad’s daughter, his and Dixie’s. After Tad left, Jonathan said he didn’t blame Annie for wanting to run. Ryan knew Tad and Dixie were going to do everything they could to find Emma and Annie, and he just wanted to find them first. He left another message for Annie that he was on her side—she had to call him back! PRACTICALLY RELATED At BJ’s, David introduced himself to Colby, saying not only did he deliver her, but they were practically related. Colby raged about how she hated Babe and Krystal, and told David about Babe’s affair with Josh. He was interested when she said that Krystal also had a secret; it involved Tad, and Dixie knew about it. He was taken aback to learn Krystal was pregnant. Colby looked on as Tad warned David to stay out of his life and that of anybody he’d ever met. Thanks to his scaring Annie off, they were never going to find out the truth about Emma. David blamed Tad; his whole plan to reunite Dixie with her daughter went up in smoke the second he got involved. THE KILLER INSTINCT? Babe thanked J.R. for stepping up after he learned Colby was lying about Josh, and Krystal was relieved that her daughter had dodged a huge bullet. Josh showed up and assumed Babe had told J.R. the truth; he was disappointed when she credited J.R. for doing the right thing to get him out of the statutory rape charges. Adam kept reminding J.R. that Josh wanted his wife, and wasn’t reassured when J.R. insisted Babe had changed him, made him a better person; he wondered what happened to his son’s killer instinct. J.R. maintained that Babe was 100% committed to him, and he wasn’t going to make her look like a fool by sending a friend of hers to prison for a crime that Colby invented. Derek showed up to talk to Colby, and was disgusted when Adam let him know the judge was very sympathetic to his daughter’s plight. Derek said he was through with the lot of them, “From this moment on, you Chandlers are on your own.” AS FAR AS ENCOURAGEMENT GOES Erica went to Jeff’s hotel room insisting Babe Chandler was single-handedly destroying their son’s life! She wanted to intervene, but Jeff refused to let her go—Josh could handle J.R. without their help. Erica wasn’t pleased that Jeff had encouraged Josh to go after Babe. Jeff explained that Josh just threw out a hypothetical question, "If I were to fall in love with a married woman, what would I do?" He answered him honestly. He said if he thought that the woman's marriage wasn't happy, he’d fight for her. Erica asked if he had affairs with married women in Africa? When Jeff replied that he’d never met one worth the trouble, Erica asked what if he was to meet someone worth the trouble? Would he pursue her? Jeff agreed, if he thought he could make her happier than her husband, if she encouraged him, yes. After she left, he mused, “Well, as far as encouragement goes, that was pretty good.” NO MORE! Babe showed up on the roof at Fusion to talk to Josh, who begged her not to walk away from what they had. Babe insisted they couldn’t be together again, because she loved J.R. and wouldn’t make him look like a fool. She went home and kissed J.R., saying she loved him and hadn’t been that happy in a long time.

pika- 10-20-2006

Wednesday, October 18, 2006 ALWAYS ONLY YOU When Kendall answered the door in a nightgown, Ryan assumed she was sleeping in; he was taken aback when Zach came out of the bedroom. Kendall assured him that was what she wanted; Ryan said that was the way it should be, and they would always have the bond of being Spike’s parents. Zach apologized to Ryan for misjudging him; he kept his word, and didn’t interfere in his marriage. When Zach brought up Dixie’s belief that Kate was in Pine Valley, Ryan urged him to let Tad and Dixie handle it—he should be concentrating on Kendall! Kendall listened to their conversation, and told Zach she didn’t hear him say he would stay out of Dixie’s life for good. Would he? Zach assured her from then on, it was only her, “Always only you.” NOT ANOTHER THOUGHT Krystal said Babe and J.R. seemed happy—were they going to stay that way? Told it was over with Josh, Krystal thought she’d made the right decision. Babe thanked God he didn’t ever have to know about her and Josh. Adam urges J.R. to get his wife pregnant, and she’d never give Josh Madden another thought. GIVE HER A LITTLE PUSH David found Josh asleep in a chair on Fusion’s roof, and urged him to go after her, make Babe change her mind. Josh insisted he had to accept the decision she made. David insisted if he loved a woman as much as Josh clearly loved Babe, and he had a chance to blow up marriage, he’d light the fuse! Josh asked why he thought he might be able to blow up Babe’s marriage? David shrugged it was speculation, but he needed to do whatever it took, give her a little push to choose the right man. He did have some ammunition he could use, didn’t he? Josh said she would never forgive him. He couldn’t pressure her into changing her mind, so just leave him alone! Simone was angry when Josh changed his mind about the job; she told Babe that was nice work, and asked what she did to him? She wondered how to lure Josh back—maybe one of them should take him to bed for the good of the company! Babe told her to go for it. GO ON, DEFEND YOURSELF! Bianca was upset to see her mother at Jeff’s door, beaming as she thanked him for last night—her Uncle Jack told her she’d moved out, but didn’t tell her why! Erica shrugged it off, but Binks told her to go on, defend herself! Erica admitted she’d neglected to mention she was living across the hall from Jeff, but she and Jack were fine. Erica questioned her motives for coming to visit, and told her not to try to stir up trouble where it didn’t exist. Bianca declared if she didn’t want them there, maybe she and Miranda would just go home. Erica insisted she didn’t want her to go home, and she couldn’t just desert her sister. Kendall needed her! Josh returned to the hotel, and wasn’t pleased to find Erica had moved in. Telling her she had no rights to him or his life, he said he had to find a new place to live. Bianca guessed he wouldn’t be coming to the party. KNEE-DEEP IN PARENTHOOD Ryan thought about the night he spent with Kendall and Spike, telling her knee-deep in parenthood was exactly where he needed to be. He got a call and asked, “You're absolutely certain that it was Annie McDermott?” NOTHING I CAN’T HANDLE Babe came to Fusion and noted Babe looked upset. Babe called it just work, nothing she couldn’t handle. Told Kendall wasn’t there, Bianca said she’d come to talk to her about what was going on with Josh. I IMAGINED YOU Jamie and Julia ran into each other at the beach, and she tried to explain she was confused when she broke it off with him. As Jamie insisted he was cool with it, Julia was taken aback when his date arrived. Later, as she sat on the beach, shivering against the cold, a jacket was placed around her shoulders. Thinking it was Jamie, she smiled, “I imagined you. I made you come back…” She looked up to see Josh. ONE MORE THING David told Krystal he’d learned about Babe’s affair from Colby. What was Babe going to do? Krystal said she was going to go on with her life as Mrs. J.R. Chandler. She was determined to be happy, and didn’t need them stirring up trouble. When Adam came in and said he didn’t want him upsetting Krystal, not in her condition, David feigned surprise that she was pregnant, and asked who the lucky father was? Adam assured him he was, and proud of it. J.R. told David to get out now, adding that Babe was at Fusion. David asked if that’s what she told him? He left, but knocked on the door and told J.R. he almost forgot— there's one more thing.

Thursday, October 19, 2006 PART AND PARCEL OF THE WHOLE PACKAGE When Di arrived after getting Aidan’s message, Tad realized she wasn’t exactly his biggest fan right now, but he could really use her help. Di raged at him for trying to send Dixie to prison, but Aidan said the trial was over, Dixie was free. This was about Annie’s daughter, Emma, “She may be your niece.” Shown a copy of Emma’s birth certificate, Di thought the listing of the McDermotts sealed the deal, but Tad said apparently false documentation was part and parcel of the whole Madden adoption package. Was she around when Annie was pregnant? Told no, Tad said he was right back where Hayward wanted him, desperately grasping at straws. His daughter was gone and he wasn’t going to get her back. WHO KNEW YOU HAD A HEART TO BREAK? Jamie returned to the beach as Julia asked Josh what he was doing there? Josh called it trolling, and kissed her. Jamie left before Julia pushed Josh away; she wiped her mouth and said he was a selfish, arrogant S.O.B.! Josh called that the only way to fly! Love is for losers. It messes with your head, ties you down. Julia laughed, “I’m going to take love lessons from you?” Josh noted she was the one moping out here all by herself. Julia insisted this wasn’t about Jamie, and asked about him. Did Josh Madden actually love someone, other than his own reflection? “Who is she?” Josh shrugged it didn’t matter because it was over. Julia thought it might be over for his mystery woman, but definitely not for him. Who knew he had a heart to break? Josh said he’d totally moved on, but sighed that wasn’t how it worked, was it? Told he’d be miserable, Josh asked for how long? Julia didn’t know. NO MATTER WHAT? Krystal didn’t want to have a C.V.S. -*test*-('") to make sure the baby was all right. She was already crazy in love with this little nugget, and was having this baby, no matter what, and she’d love her or him no matter what. What about Adam? Was he going to love this baby, no matter what? She didn’t know what to think when Adam stood and said he’d be right back. When Jamie came up, Krystal asked if Kate was back in the family? She was sorry, she thought he knew, and he should probably check with his daddy for the whole story. TELL ME MORE Bianca told Babe she knew she and Josh were having an affair. Babe called it past tense. She ended it with Josh. J.R. didn’t know, and he’d never have to. She broke down as she spoke about Josh, and Bianca realized she really loved him. Babe cried as she told Bianca how she’d based her choice on J.R. changing, but Binks wasn’t convinced it was the right thing to stay with a man who’d tried to kill her. Babe said if she left J.R., it would kill him. There’s no way she could start a new life with Josh knowing she had wrecked J.R.’s. Bianca asked what if her choice destroyed her brother? Babe insisted Josh would be all right, and Bianca asked her to tell her more about her brother. Babe did, and said Josh would need someone to talk to; she urged Bianca to stick around and be there for him. AND DAVID MAKES THREE? David told J.R. he ran into his sister. According to her, he and Babe weren’t living the “happily ever after”. So, what did he do now to mess with her life? When J.R. said Babe had never been happier, David asked, “You mean when she’s with you, or when she’s with Josh Madden?” J.R. insisted his marriage was solid, and was taken aback when David said he’d found Kate. She was here, Dixie met her, and it was all because of him. He hoped one day soon they got to be together for good. J.R. agreed, and David made three? A NEW UNDERSTANDING J.R. confronted Tad about Kate, and raged at him for trying to hurt Dixie again. He was stunned when Jamie made him understand what Tad had actually done to save Dixie. ISN’T THAT GREAT? Adam returned and said he didn’t know how to respond when she asked him if he would love their child no matter what. He took a walk and thought about Stuart. When he was a boy, he resented that Stuart was different, and all the kids laughed at him. He was embarrassed, and just wanted him to be like all the other kids. But, he finally figured out what made Stuart special, the way he saw the world and the people in it. The world would be a sadder, lonelier place if not for Stuart. If their child was special, he would love her, or him, with all his heart. Moved to tears, Krystal embraced Adam. Krystal agreed to have the -*test*-('"), and David couldn’t wait to tell Tad that Krystal was pregnant

Friday, October 20, 2006 IT’S A POWER THING Zach was taking a picture of Spike wearing a Red Wings jersey and holding a miniature hockey stick when Erica let herself into the condo and gasped, “You give me that baby and get out of my daughter’s home!” She called 9-1-1, and was stunned when told Zach and Kendall had reconciled. Erica was skeptical of his declaration of love for Kendall, calling it a power thing, but Zach insisted he loved Kendall; without her, nothing else mattered. He was stunned and grateful she’d taken him back, and would spend the rest of his life making her happy. He looked at Erica questioningly when the police arrived and asked if he was causing trouble?” Erica sent the cop away with an autograph, but warned Zach the police were always just three digits away! She asked if he needed her to stay, but Zach assured her he and Spike would be fine. Telling him to keep it that way, Erica left. FAMOUS LAST WORDS When Babe told her she and Josh were history, Kendall called her as dumb as a box of rocks! For whatever reason, Josh actually cared about her, yet she chose J.R.? She worried about J.R. seeking retribution, but Babe said she hadn’t told him about the affair, and he’d never have to know. Kendall noted those were famous last words, and wondered how she could have chosen cold-hearted, no conscience J.R. over warm and loving Josh. How could anyone, even her, make such a … She broke off and sighed she just did the same thing. As they took tentative steps toward bonding over their choice of bad boys, Simone came in and said Babe was responsible for Josh quitting. Babe said he thought it was for the best, but Kendall declared if she had just kept her grubby little hands to herself, Josh would still be there! THEY SHOULD BE TOLD Bianca knocked on Josh’s door and found him with a pile of mail spread out on the bed. Josh said it was from the attorneys untangling the estate of Greg Madden, “It turns out playing God pays really well.” She was looking at an extremely rich man. The funny thing about money was that you could use it to build up or tear down, “A clever man could use this to smash J.R. Chandler to oblivion, and I’m a very clever man.” He could topple the Chandler empire, leave them destitute and desperate. Bianca was really sorry things didn’t work out the way he wanted them to with Babe, but annihilating J.R. wasn’t going to help. She’d been where he was. J.R. makes it really easy to hate him, but he had to let go of that hate before it eats him alive. Josh wanted to reply to the condolence letters from Greg’s patients and tell them the truth about the father of their children, but Binks convinced him not to—if he told these people who really fathered their children, then maybe he really was Greg Madden’s son, just as cruel as he was. These people went to Greg Madden because they wanted a baby, and they got it. They were willing to accept anonymous donors, so just leave it at that. She was taken aback when Josh wanted to give her all the money in Greg’s estate for the Miranda Center to help children and mothers, the way Greg should have. IT CAN’T BE COINCIDENCE Tad was taken aback to learn Krystal was pregnant, and warned David that other people’s children were none of his business. David hoped Annie would take Kate so far away that he never saw her again. He said Joe and Tad had killed his daughter, taken Leora away from him forever; he hoped Tad suffered as much as he did, and wished he had never helped him find Kate. After Krystal’s CVS -*test*-('"), Tad congratulated the expectant parents before telling Julia he needed her help. She checked the hospital computer and learned that Emma shared his DNA. With the number of genetic markers they shared, it couldn’t be coincidence. MAKE ME UNDERSTAND Ryan found Jonathan with Annie and Emma in the cabin where he’d killed Terry, and convinced his brother to let him take care of this. He urged Annie to take a DNA -*test*-('"), but she said she couldn’t! Ryan asked her to make him understand. Annie admitted, “If I take that DNA -*test*-('"), my DNA won’t match Emma’s.” IS THE BABY MINE? Adam was greatly moved when Krystal wanted to name the baby after his sister, Charlotte. When he left, Tad came in and asked, “Is the baby mine?” David deliberately bumped into a nurse and offered to save her a trip to the lab. She thanked him, and he grinned as he looked at the words on the envelope, “Krystal Chandler CVS”.

pika- 10-27-2006

Monday, October 23, 2006 I PICKED YOU TO BE MY FIRST At BJ’s to pick up Krystal’s cheesy fries, Adam confronted Sean and declared he wasn’t going to get away with getting Colby drunk and molesting her! Bianca came in and ordered Adam to back off! When Bianca asked Sean for the real story, he admitted he and Colby hooked up, but he didn’t force anything on her. He suggested going back to France with Bianca, but she said she was sticking around for a while, hoping to get to know both of her brothers a little bit better. Sean said all there was to know was if her bone marrow had been a match for Molly, he wouldn’t exist. Colby came up and assumed Sean was trying to pick up an older lady, but Bianca laughed she was his sister and gay! When she stepped away to take a call, Sean was taken aback when Colby said he was her first; she’d been a virgin before him. SOMETHING’S WRONG David took Krystal’s CVS -*test*-('") to the lab, ordering a DNA -*test*-('") using Tad’s profile already on file. Krystal told Tad her baby was Adam’s; she was so sorry. As he was telling her about Annie taking off with Emma, Julia came in and told Tad she’d scored, big. Tad looked through the file with Annie’s entire medical history, and saw she’d had a DNA -*test*-('") run a year ago on her and Emma. They weren’t a match, which meant it’s very possible that little girl is his daughter. Julia thought something was wrong. If Annie knew she wasn’t Emma’s biological mother, if she was adopted, why run a DNA -*test*-('")? Tad had to agree that didn’t make sense. I WOULD HAVE RUN, TOO Dixie and J.R. went to the penthouse to talk to Annie, and were upset when Jonathan said they were gone. After leaving, Dixie broke down and admitted under the same circumstances, she would have run, too. She lamented not listening to David and snatching Emma, but J.R. insisted kidnapping was not the best way to get her daughter back. Dixie was surprised when he urged her to trust Tad, but J.R. said he knew how far Tad went to save her, and to find Kate. If Emma was Kate, he, Tad and Aidan were going to bring her home to her. SHE ISN’T MY BABY, IS SHE? Krystal was dismayed when Adam asked, “She isn’t my baby, is she?” Colby wasn’t his baby anymore—Sean Montgomery robbed that poor girl of her innocence! Relieved, Krystal bet him dollars to donuts that Colby got drunk on her own and gave it up willingly, hoping to feel more grown up. She urged him to talk to Colby, make her see herself the way he sees her. That was the only way she was going to learn to value herself and her sexuality. AN EXCELLENT CHOICE… Di came to Aidan’s office ready to help him find Emma for Dixie, but couldn’t forgive Tad for what he did. Aidan noted, “Then this conversation is a waste of both of our time.” Di left, but returned as Jonathan was demanding that Aidan make Tad and Dixie back off. Aidan was surprised when Di changed her tune about Tad, and called it an excellent choice in deciding to trust him. Aidan felt Annie was in town somewhere, but he didn’t have a clue where. Di shrugged when she’d lost something, she started looking in the last place she would expect to find it. Aidan kissed her cheek, “I love you.” As he made a call, Di smiled, “Something I said?” WHY DOES THIS THROW YOU? Tad hurried off to meet Aidan, and David asked Julia why she had Annie’s medical records? Julia asked what he made of that -*test*-('"), and wondered why the -*test*-('") threw him? He was the one who proved that Emma was Tad and Dixie’s daughter, right? I CAN’T TAKE THE CHANCE! Annie insisted no matter what any DNA -*test*-('") said, she carried Emma for 9 months and gave birth to that little girl. Ryan asked how she found out Emma’s DNA didn’t match hers? Annie said Terry told her about some genetic concerns in his family and convinced her they shouldn’t risk passing them on to their children; they chose Greg Madden to help them. She did the DNA -*test*-('") when she and Terry were going through their divorce, thinking the results could prove Emma was biologically hers, but not his. The first time she saw that DNA -*test*-('"), she knew something had to be wrong. She heard Dr. Madden was living in Pine Valley, so she came to ask for some kind of explanation of why her DNA didn’t match her daughter’s. But, the doctor was gone before she got the chance. Ryan believed her, and urged her to have another -*test*-('") to eliminate Tad and Dixie as matches, but Annie said she couldn’t take the chance. As Ryan realized she was afraid they’d be a match, Tad and Aidan came through the door.

pika- 10-27-2006

Tuesday, October 24, 2006 I WOULD’VE MADE IT NICER Sean came to see if Colby was okay, and apologized for not knowing he was her first, if he had known, he would have made it nicer. Colby wondered what she expected? They weren’t in love, they were just doing it, and it was a stupid thing to do. You grow up your whole life with people telling you not to do it, to wait, save yourself until you’re in love. Then you think if it’s so awesome, why shouldn’t you do it? Then you do it and it’s done, and you think, “That’s what was supposed to make me feel so special?” Did they miss something? He agreed, maybe they did, and asked if she wanted to start over? He was sorry if he hurt her. Colby was sorry, too, for lying, and asked what he meant about starting over? Adam came in and exclaimed he warned him to stay away from his daughter! At Adam’s request, Krystal and Colby left the room, but listened at the door. Sean admitted he’d slept with Colby, and Adam threw a quarter million dollar vase at the wall to illustrate that he would break everything in the house to keep his daughter from being disrespected. After he left, Adam told Colby Sean had agreed to treat her with respect, the way she should be treated. He loved her unconditionally, and she should mean a lot more to herself. YOUR JOB, NOT MINE J.R. went to Zach’s office and asked how he felt about kidnapping? Hayward told his mother to kidnap the girl herself! He asked Zach to talk to Dixie, convince her not to listen to David, but Zach said he had a family of his own; it was up to J.R. and Tad now, “It’s your job, not mine.” He reminded him he was only alive after almost killing Kendall because of his mother; he should be grateful and take care of his family himself. SOMETHING JUST DOESN’T ADD UP Julia found Jamie leaving a note at Tad’s office, and shared her concerns with him about the DNA -*test*-('")—something just didn’t add up! Jamie thought it was good of her to get involved, and she asked how she could not? A LOW BLOW Tad was upset to find Ryan hiding Annie, and asked her to explain the DNA -*test*-('"). Annie called it a mistake, and refused to allow samples to be taken from her and Emma for another -*test*-('"). Tad appealed to Annie, asking her to put herself in Dixie’s shoes, but got nowhere with her. When Annie insisted Emma was her child and hadn’t been adopted, Tad said that might be a problem, “Because if you didn’t legally adopt Emma and you’re not her biological mother, you may have no legal right to her whatsoever.” Ryan said Annie had every right to Emma, and that was a low blow. Aidan noted it wasn’t over. When Annie took Emma to the car to return to town, Ryan told Tad until he got more proof than Hayward’s -*test*-('") that this was his child, don’t expect any help from him. Tad said he’d get a court order. IT CAN BE DONE Kendall was surprised when Dixie said she needed to talk to her. She apologized for the horrible things she said to her, and Kendall was also sorry for the awful things she’d said. Saying adoption had been a major issue in Kendall’s life, Dixie asked her how to help Emma make the transition? Kendall cautioned her to get the facts first, but insisted Annie was a great mother. Was she ready to share Emma with Annie? Dixie didn’t know. Kendall said she, Ryan and Zach were all raising Spike together, so it could be done. Dixie asked if she thought she was a horrible person for wanting to take her child back? Kendall said she was not only a child who was left behind, she was also a mother who signed Greg Madden’s adoption papers. If Zach hadn’t intervened, she’d be exactly where Dixie was today. So, no, she didn’t think she was wrong to want her child. IT DIDN’T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY Babe told David her mama said he was all worked up about J.R. David agreed, and insisted J.R. would hurt her again. Told she was staying with J.R. and was happy, David wondered why she was cheating on him? As Babe insisted she was staying with J.R., Jamie arrived to ask if David was telling the truth about finding Kate. David was upset Babe didn’t believe in his sincerity, and blamed her marriage for keeping them from having a real relationship. When Babe said she belonged with her son and her husband, David asked, “So you’d rather be J.R.’s wife than my daughter?” Babe agreed, “If you won’t let me be both, then yes.” She felt it didn’t have to be this way, but David said there was no other choice. Alone, he declared if Babe wouldn’t save herself, he’d have to do it for her.

pika- 10-27-2006

Wednesday, October 25, 2006 AN IMPORTANT LESSON IN COMMERCE As Jonathan kissed Amanda, he joked if he were the manager of ConFusion, he’d have to fire himself for sexual harassment. Amanda noted he should be the manager. As they shared a kiss, a delivery man, Harvey, came in and said they had a serious problem, and he was seeing it firsthand. When he complained that she owed him money, Amanda showed him his figures were wrong. Harvey threatened to sue, but Amanda thought if anyone was owed anything, it was his wife. She held up an engraved necklace from Harvey to another woman. Jonathan watched with amusement as Harvey apologized and offered a discount for special customers. Jonathan told Amanda that kind of savvy was why she deserved to be the manager; it was an important lesson in commerce, “Sometimes it takes a little blackmail to do business.” Del arrived to talk to Amanda and said Lavery was a loser—get rid of the guy and give him a chance! GONE LONG ENOUGH Bianca urged Jack to tell Erica how much he missed her and wanted her home, prompting Jack to wonder if she knew something he didn’t. Bianca thought her mother needed to hear it from him how much he loved her. AT LEAST SHOW HER RESPECT Unhappy with her event planner’s suggestions, Erica was glad when Josh came in and made the woman understand just what she wanted. Would he consider planning her sweeps party? She knew he was busy with his job, but even part-time as a consultant, he was better than a dozen party planners. Josh told her Fusion and Babe were history. When Erica said she was sorry he was disappointed, Josh lashed out at her for her hypocrisy; Jeff stepped in and told Josh never to speak to his mother like that again! Erica left, and Jeff insisted if Erica reached out to Josh, it was because she cared; if he couldn’t return her affection, at least show her some respect. He was the one he should be mad at after the advice he gave him about Babe. He knew it hurt, but Babe made her decision and he had to live with that. NO BLUFF Babe’s mind drifted back to working with Josh on the ad campaign, and the looks they shared. J.R. came in and wanted to plan a vacation; when he left to get some brochures, Colby came in and warned Babe no matter how long it took, she was going to bring her and her trashy mama down! J.R. returned and asked his wife if she wanted to watch him make Colby disappear? Colby left, and Babe says that was the way to bluff! J.R. insisted it was no bluff, and suggested they find a home of their own. Babe was ecstatic, and they arranged to have Marian start showing them houses. Colby tried to listen at the door, but couldn’t hear anything. IT’S NOT THE SAME Erica returned to her room to find a floral arrangement waiting for her. Jack arrived and said he missed her so much! Erica agreed she loved him and missed him every day, but had to focus on the sweeps party—so many people were counting on her. Jack said it was about business, then, “We’re fine?” Erica assured him, “We’re much more than fine.” Jack left with a smile on his face, and ran into Jeff going into his room. His expression changed as he looked first at Jeff’s door and then Erica’s. Downstairs, Josh looked up to see Babe and J.R. come in. FEMALE PEOPLE ARE NOT GENERIC When Sean asked for her advice on women, girls and female people, Bianca laughed as she asked if he wanted the Lesbian’s Guide to Girls? After teasing her brother about a handbook, Bianca told him female people were not generic. If he really wanted to know how to read a girl, he had to get to know her, preferably when they were both sober. NOTHING FUNNY ABOUT TERROR Krystal went to David’s cabin and warned if he was planning on blasting her family to Hades, she was there to stop him. She told David about a nightmare she had, starring him, and David realized she was terrified of him. When she wondered if he would make fun of her, David said there was nothing funny about terror. He blamed her for letting Babe stay with J.R.—she cared more about Adam’s bankroll than Babe’s safety. Krystal said every hair on her neck told her he was planning something so foul it would take down the Chandlers for good. She noted how dark he had become, and was relieved when David seemed to focus on Tad only as Kate’s father and not the father of her baby. David insisted he wasn’t a threat, and hurriedly sent her away when he got a fax. He smiled broadly when he read the report that Baby Chandler and T. Martin were a match.
