Wednesday, February 14, 2007 I GOT YOU, I’M HERE Kendall woke with a start and cried out, “Spike?” Zach reminded her that Spike was with Ryan, and he was fine, “And you’re here with me. You’re okay, I got you.” He announced his rule for the day, “The world stops turning, clock stops ticking, and I will not do anything unless it will make you smile, remind us of what we’re fighting for.” Kendall wondered if he had a romantic surprise for her. At the penthouse, Ryan teased it was wrong that the cupcakes Annie was making weren’t for him, and Annie explained they were for everybody at Wildwind. She and Emma were visiting today to see if they wanted to live there. When Emma said he could move there, too, Annie reminded her that only she and Mommy would be living together. She laughed when Emma declared, “Daddy can sleep over a lot!” Jonathan comforted Amanda, knowing he couldn’t do anything to fix how badly she was hurting, but refusing to let her push him away. J.R. was on the sofa in the parlor, tossing fitfully in his sleep as he replayed scenes with Babe in his mind. He cried out her name and woke with a start. Krystal reached out to comfort him, “I got you, I’m here.” She thanked God that Babe was loved by both of them before she died; J.R. was upset when she asked if she could call him her son. I’LL BE FAR AWAY, BUT MY HEART WILL BE WITH YOU Bianca brought Miranda to the park, and sighed as she read a Valentine’s Day card, “I’ll be far away, but my heart will be with you. All my love, Maggie.” Zoe joined her, and said she wanted to stay in Pine Valley, where her new life had begun. She had decided to find a specialist in sexual reassignment to discuss a medical transition, but admitted she was scared to death. ALWAYS, ONLY YOU Kendall wasn’t initially thrilled when Zach’s surprise turned out to be a bowling alley, albeit with soft lights and a disco ball. After accusing him of distracting her so she would lose the game, Kendall was moved to read what he’d written on the score sheet in big red letters, “Always, only you.” I WISH I COULD FIX YOUR HEART AND NEVER LET IT BREAK AGAIN Adam hoped it wasn’t a mistake, but felt the time was right to give Krystal his Valentine’s Day gift, a gold bracelet with two engraved heart-shaped charms, “Charlotte and Arabella.” Krystal tearfully said she missed Babe so much, and was scared her heart would always be broken. Adam held her as he declared, “My love, I’m going to fix your heart and never let it break again.” Knowing that Little A didn’t know about Babe, Colby tried to keep him happy by making valentines until they figured out how to tell him. J.R. came downstairs and heard Little Adam tell Krystal she couldn’t open that one, “It’s for my mom.” YOUR HEART IS MY HOME Kendall held Zach’s palm up and showed him a line, saying this was his heart and how he opened it up to her. He let her come right in, it didn’t matter where, “Because your heart is my home.” When he gave her a diamond necklace, Kendall exclaimed she knew it! And, she loved it. She received a valentine from her son, a picture of Spike and the message, “Happy Valentine’s Day, Mommy”, signed with his little handprint. Kendall thought Ryan could be such a complete jerk. He was so mad at her right now about Emma, and then he goes and does something like this. Zach held her and agreed, “Jerk.” The lights low again, Zach and Kendall danced and kissed beneath the disco ball. HURT HAPPENS NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO Julia planned a surprise for Kathy and all of their friends who had lost a loved one. She told Jamie she knew how much Dixie and Babe meant to him, and Jamie sighed he still didn’t know what Babe meant to him. He got so twisted up all the time. He loved her, enough to do things that he still couldn’t wrap his head around. And then, one day he was done, just like that, in a heartbeat. He was done. He watched her marry his brother, more than once, and then warned her to stay the hell away from J.R., because in the end, they would just hurt each other again. Julia asked if he thought he was wrong? Jamie nodded, “Yeah. Hurt happens no matter what you do.” When Tad arrived and saw Kathy, he remembered Dixie’s question, “Do you ever think that we'll look at a child again and not wonder about our Kate?” Ryan took Annie for a tour of the estate and they wound up in the stables, where they made love for the first time. I GET THAT NOW J.R. confided to Stuart that he’d ruined it with Babe. He asked her for a divorce and custody of Little Adam. But the things he said to her and the way that he treated her, and now. Babe came to him after he jumped out of the window, and said that it didn't matter because after all of their fights, no matter what was said, they wouldn't have been able to be together if he died. And she was right. And no matter how she felt about Josh or Josh felt about her, none of that mattered, “And I get that now. But she's the one who's gone.” SO THEY KNOW I LOVE THEM Julia’s surprise was a party to make valentines, and Emma told Julia that Kathy wanted to send a valentine to her parents in Heaven so they’d know she loved them. Everyone thought that was a great idea, and all made cards for their lost loved ones. Ryan and Annie returned as the group came outside. Kathy reached out to Tad, who took her in his arms. Annie took Spike from Di, and Ryan held Emma as the others counted to three and let the valentines tied to balloons fly free, their messages of love floating to Heaven.

Thursday, February 15, 2007 YOU’RE REALLY NOT GOING TO HELP ME? Jack wasn’t pleased to find Barbara there when he came home after working all night. As Barbara planted a kiss on him, Erica came through the door. The women clashed immediately, but Erica had come to ask for Jack’s help in finding Josh and making things right with him. She was stunned when Jack refused to drop what he was doing, trying to stop a serial killer, to track him down for her—he really wasn’t going to help her? Jack suggested she talk to Josh’s father; he was sure Jeff had a lot of brilliant insight in that regard. After Erica walked out, Barbara told Jack she thought she’d never leave—did he want some breakfast while they caught up? Jack had no time for her or her nonsense, and wanted her to leave; Sean came in and agreed with his uncle. Barbara said that was fine; she wanted to see her son, so would just stay at the Pine Cone or at Myrtle’s boarding house. Jack relented and said she could stay there, but warned her to stay out of everyone’s way. After Jack left, Sean guessed his mom’s boyfriend had dumped her, and knew she had only come to tag Uncle Jack, but it wasn’t going to happen. He and Erica weren’t divorced yet. Later, Jack got a call from Josh. HE’S TRYING TO TELL ME THAT I MESSED UP Annie packed up to move to Wildwind, telling Ryan it was better that way, for Emma. He agreed, as much as he wanted her to stay, and they shared a passionate kiss. Ryan wanted her to know that what happened yesterday wasn’t just something casual, and he hoped it would work out for the best for all of them. As they kissed again, Ryan got another message from the killer, “You’ve let me down”. He felt the killer was trying to tell him that he messed up. Obviously, he was on to him, and there was nothing he could do about it. Annie asked why the letters were coming to him? Ryan mused that maybe it wasn’t his connection to Zach, but his connection to somebody else. He said Tad’s theory was that Ethan’s mother could be the killer, and filled her in on the Cambias inheritance. Annie asked if he thought the killer knew he was Ethan’s friend, so was now reaching out to him? Ryan didn’t know, but whoever was doing this would definitely strike again. WHAT SECRET? Krystal tried to comfort him, but J.R. pushed her away, “You don’t know what I did.” As Krystal sang his praises for the love he gave Babe, Colby came in wearing a dress J.R. recognized as Babe’s. He lashed out at her, saying Babe’s body wasn’t even in the ground and she was ripping into her stuff. Adam took Colby out on the terrace and asked what happened? Colby explained that Babe gave her this dress, and she wanted to wear it as a tribute. She thought J.R. would like it, and now he hated her. Adam understood and thought was very sweet of her, but Colby sighed she’d been nothing but a jerk to Krystal and Babe. She jacked them around every chance she got. J.R., too. She never should have told him about Krystal’s secret! Adam asked, “What secret?” Colby said there was no secret; she blew it all out of proportion so J.R. would be ticked at Babe and Krystal, and cried over how stupid and selfish she’d been. When she said Charlotte would be so much easier to love, Adam insisted she was irreplaceable. They would have plenty of time to make up for what she’d done to Krystal and J.R. and to help them, and they would do it together. A NEW DAY, A NEW SUSPECT Tad arrived and told Kendall and Zach it was a new day and they had a new suspect, possibly Ethan’s mother. Zach refused to believe the sweet, innocent girl he’d known could do that, but agreed to give Tad and Aidan all the info he and Ethan had come up with in their search for her. After he left, Zach remembered something that made him believe he’d killed his mother. An alarm went off, and Zach pulled out a gun as he told Kendall to stay back—someone got past Security! I DON’T WANT TO DO THIS WITHOUT YOU Erica went back to the Valley Inn, where Jeff comforted her and said he would track Josh down. Erica marveled that he was the only one who understood—she didn’t know what she’d do without him! Their kiss turned passionate, and Erica said she didn’t want Jeff to stop. He picked her up and carried her to the bedroom. YOU LISTENING? Ryan went to Fusion and shouted, “You listening? Yeah, I know about the bug, but you probably figured that out already, didn’t you? I got your note. Why don’t you tell me how I let you down? Tell me, face to face, you and me, anytime, anyplace, anywhere, no tricks. I honored my friend, Ethan. I gave him his legacy. I did the right thing, and I will do the right thing now. Just give me a chance to save Kendall, please.” STILL WANT TO CALL ME YOUR SON? Krystal reached out to J.R. again, who said he didn’t deserve her kindness—she didn’t understand! Krystal insisted she did, and so did Babe. He trusted her again, and gave her the future she always dreamed of. “No, I wasn’t,” J.R. admitted. He was divorcing her, and going for custody of Little Adam. Krystal declared she never would have given up her son! J.R. said he was blackmailing her, and had given her a clear choice. Either she gave him custody of his son, “Or I would tell my father the truth about your baby, Tad’s baby.” Did she still want to call him her son? Furious, Krystal said she never dreamed there would be anything good about her baby dying, “But at least she died before she had to make that choice.” As Tad arrived, he and Adam heard Krystal shouting at J.R., calling him a snake, “You make me sick—get out of my sight! Get out!” They rushed in, and Adam asked what’s happened? Krystal was shaking as she pointed at J.R. and said this monster that he called a son—she wanted him out of this house now! She told J.R. not to even think of taking her daughter’s son with him, because he was staying with her! When Tad and Adam asked what was going on, Krystal ordered, “Tell them, J.R. Tell Tad and tell your father everything.”

Friday, February 16, 2007 I HOPE THAT’S NOT TRUE Bianca stopped by Erica’s hotel suite, thinking they could go to the funeral together, and was disgusted to find that her mother had spent the night with Jeff. Erica said if she insisted on going, she’d go with her. Bianca didn’t want her anywhere near her when she saw her uncle at the service. Erica was upset that Kendall planned to go. Bianca started out, but stopped at the door to tell Erica, “You know, they say as you get older, you become more and more like your mother. I hope that’s not true. I don’t want to be anything like you.” TODAY HAS BEEN HORRIBLE ENOUGH Krystal challenged J.R. to go on, tell them how he made the last days of Babe’s life a living hell—if he didn’t talk, she would! J.R. insisted she didn’t want to do that, but Krystal vowed she wouldn’t rest until he disappeared from her life and her grandson’s. Adam urged her to be reasonable, that wasn’t going to happen; they were all stunned when she said Babe had another will, “She gave me custody of Little Adam.” J.R. said he hated what he did to Babe, and would regret it for the rest of his life. He deserved Krystal’s hatred, but she shouldn’t have to suffer anymore. She’d already lost enough, “You don't need to lose any more. Today has been horrible enough.” Tad comforted J.R. when he broke down in tears. He told J.R. he needed him today; they’d say goodbye to Babe and Dixie together. Adam urged Krystal to heed her own advice, learn from his mistakes, and not use an innocent child as a weapon. When he went to have the car brought around, Krystal told J.R. she didn’t believe for one second that he regretted hurting Babe, and he would turn on her the same way. J.R. swore he wouldn’t say a word, he’d forget what his mother said, and never tell his father that she wasn’t carrying his baby. Colby and J.R. apologized to each other, and Colby reached out to support Krystal. AMANDA IS GOING TO NEED SOME TIME Jonathan told Annie how happy he was that she and Ryan were together, and that Emma was Ryan’s little girl. Annie admitted she was falling in love with Ryan, but didn’t think he felt the same way. Emma was delighted to call him her Uncle Jon. Janet shocked everyone by showing up at Wildwind, free from the institution on a day pass, but Jonathan welcomed her back. He spoke privately with her, saying he knew what it was like to lose touch, to be taken over by something that forces you to do terrible things, but he also knew what it was like to get a second chance. He cautioned her to be patient, “Amanda is going to need some time.” Janet nodded her understanding, and winked at him. She told Amanda she shouldn’t have come. She made a bad choice, and was sorry. Amanda promised to visit her, but Janet told her to take her time. Amanda tearfully thanked Jonathan. THE CONTACT OF CHOICE Ryan showed Jack the la-*test*-('") message from the killer, and wondered how he’d become the contact of choice. When Jack said he’d heard from Greenlee, Ryan sighed that he still hated how much he hurt her. Jack was glad he’d been able to convince her to stay away from Pine Valley while this killer was on the loose; he just wished he could do the same thing with Kendall. WHAT AREN’T YOU TELLING ME? Raymond came to tell Zach he had been cleared by the police and was leaving town. He gave him a handkerchief that Amelia had made, thinking he should have it. Zach said he was wrong about his mom, “I did kill her. It was me.” Raymond gently said he loved Amelia, “You didn’t mean to hurt her.” Zach flashed back to his father’s words, “It wasn’t your fault. You didn’t mean to do it.” Raymond insisted his mother was at peace and had forgiven him. He left, and Zach told Kendall, “But I’ll never forgive myself.” He killed his mom, and now this psycho was killing him one piece at a time. Erica arrived and told her daughter, “You're going to that funeral over my dead body.” Kendall was taken aback when Zach agreed with her mom. She meekly agreed not to go; Erica knew Kendall had given in too easily—what wasn’t she telling her? She was upset that Kendall refused to help her find Josh and started to leave, but thought there was something Kendall should hear from her. When Bianca came to her room… Kendall guessed she’d found her with Jeff and said that was lovely, Bianca was on her way to a double funeral and she caught her and Jeff basking in the afterglow. Very nice! Erica left, but not before insisting, “You will find out that I’m right, about Josh, about Bianca, and about you and Zach.” YOU RAISE ME UP As Tad arrived and greeted Ryan, two men came into the cemetery carrying floral bouquets of gardenias tied with white satin ribbons; they were delivered this morning, and the funeral director assumed they were from the family. Tad was livid, calling it a slap in the face, an obscenity—get it out of there! When Zach arrived, J.R. blamed him for the deaths of his mother and his wife. Zoe arrived in a black dress; everyone watched as she looked at Babe’s coffin. Jack looked toward the cemetery entrance as Erica came in with Jeff. Adam addressed the mourners, admitting he didn’t make life easy for Dixie or Babe, and he regretted it. Bianca spoke of how she wished it hadn’t taken her so long to realize she’d forgiven Babe, “I wish that I'd said this to you when you were here. I accept your apology. I forgive you. You'll always be in my heart.” Tad spoke of meeting and falling in love with Dixie before breaking down. He bent to touch his cheek to Dixie’s coffin, and gently kissed it. Di cried as she spoke of her sister, and how she’d miss her every day for the rest of her life. Overcome with grief, Krystal fell to her knees by Babe’s coffin as she sobbed, “No! No, please. God, no, don't take my little girl! My baby.” Zoe sang “You Raise Me Up”. The mourners slowly filed past the two coffins, placing single roses on them for their loved ones. Meanwhile, in a hospital bed somewhere, Babe slowly opened her eyes.

Monday, February 19, 2007 QUITE A TEAM, ONCE UPON A TIME J.R. broke down over Babe’s coffin, saying she didn’t know how sorry he was, and wondering how he was going to say goodbye to his mom. Tad worried about him, but Joe was equally concerned for Krystal and her baby. Krystal touched the coffin and told Babe she’d always be her Baby Doll. J.R. watched as Tad caught Krystal’s hand, and held it for just a moment in comfort. Julia told the mourners everyone was invited back to Wildwind to celebrate the lives of these wonderful women. When Bianca offered her sympathies, J.R. told her if she still loved Maggie, forgive her because she could be gone tomorrow. Zoe came up and told Bianca that J.R. had been blackmailing Babe, and accused him of putting Babe in that coffin as sure as the killer did—she died hating him! Bianca insisted it wasn’t the time or place. Later, Zoe understood why Bianca wanted to put a picture of happy times with Babe into the coffin; Bianca said they had been quite a team, once upon a time, before everything changed. Opal worried about Palmer, but felt she couldn’t reach out to him or he’d call the dogs on her. She and Joe comforted Tad; Opal urged him to take care of his heart. Zach went to Ethan’s grave, and vowed to find and stop the man who took the woman he loved. Bianca thanked her uncle for making the service happen, and said she was proud of him. Asked to catch the killer, Jack assured her he would. Bianca asked Zoe to come with her to Wildwind, insisting everyone that loved Babe needed to be together. YOU SAVED ME Babe woke up and asked where she was? Kendall looked on as Josh asked how she was feeling, and Babe told him she thought she was dead. Josh assured her she’d be fine, but had to rest and relax. Kendall told her brother she understood that he loved Babe and was trying to save her. She couldn’t come down on him for doing something wild and crazy and loving, “The last time someone was this crazy, it saved Spike’s life.” She and Josh agreed they’d keep Babe’s location from her as long as possible. Babe woke up again and smiled when she understood that she was safe, and that Josh had saved her. I JUST LISTEN Back at Wildwind, Jamie appreciated all Julia was doing, even noting that she made guacamole because he’d told her Babe liked it. Julia insisted she just listened, but he wondered if she knew how wonderful she was? Jonathan admitted to Amanda he sometimes felt he’d turn around and Erin would be there, but then reality set in, “It’s up to us to make it okay.” Tad told Di that Dixie managed to let him know she loved him one more time before she died, “Together forever, huh?” Di nodded, in a way, they were. Tad agreed, “Other than finding our daughter, I guess that’s the best I could hope for.” Kathy was delighted to see Tad; she ran into his arms and declared, “Emma has her new daddy. Tad is mine.” Tad and Julia exchanged glances; Tad thought at this point, he probably had “Tad the Dad” written across his forehead. Julia thanked him for his confidence in her; Tad said he knew she’d be a great mother, and Kathy was easy to love. Everyone was silent when Bianca came in with Zoe; Kathy and Emma agreed Zoe didn’t look like the Miss Zoe at their play group, but only because Miss Zoe’s hair was brown. Uncomfortable with the others, Zoe left shortly after arriving. Aidan agreed with Tad to continue looking for Hannah, and if it was Ethan’s mum, she was going down. COMPLICATED When Ryan came to Wildwind, Emma ran into his arms, and led him upstairs to show him her room, which Ryan called fit for a princess. Jonathan came to the door, and wanted to give Ryan and Annie time alone. Annie went to check on Spike, and Jonathan was surprised when Ryan said he and Annie had decided not to date for fear it would turn out badly, calling it complicated. Jon reminded his brother they had buried four women in the last few weeks; that was how fast life could change. Annie confronted Jonathan later, saying she told him she was falling for his brother, and he put up a billboard! Jonathan said he’d back off; it was none of his business, but it was obvious he hoped for the best for Ryan and Annie. BABE WAS ALL YOU Colby reached out to Krystal, who accepted her attempt at comfort. Adam came in to find his wife holding his daughter, and was pleased. Later, Sean came over to see Colby, who went into his arms as she cried. Sean confided that he sometimes missed his dad so much that he cried, too. Adam held Krystal and told her, “Babe was all you.” He didn’t want to miss a second of Charlotte’s life, “Because she’ll be you, too.” Krystal said she wanted Charlotte to be him, and she would be. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED Ryan was surprised when Zach comes to the penthouse and told him, “I need to know what happened when my father died.” MY SYMPATHIES Babe woke with a start and saw a woman standing by her bed, looking at a chart. She realized this wasn’t a hospital, and asked, “Where am I?” J.R. came to see Kendall, who said it wasn’t a good time. J.R. told her he just wanted to make sure she was okay, and to admit that he’d been an ass. Kendall nodded, “Fine, apology accepted. My sympathies. Leave.” J.R. asked him to please talk to him. Kendall sighed as she said she was sorry about Dixie. She knew how much he loved her. And, she was also sorry about Babe, but not for him, for her mother and her son and all the people that actually cared about her. J.R. insisted he cared. Kendall told him she wasn’t about to let herself get killed, so thanks for coming, “Goodbye, J.R., please.” She opened the door to find Josh standing there. OUT OF THE DARKNESS At Ethan’s grave, a shadowy figure bent to touch the lettering on the headstone with a gloved hand. Later, Zoe returned to the cemetery; she sank to her knees beside Babe’s grave and cried for her friend. She heard footsteps and looked up. A man rushed at her in the darkness and attacked her.

Tuesday, February 20, 2007 THE ONLY SHOT WE GOT When Zach asked him about everything Alexander said before he died, Ryan called it a long shot. Zach said it was the only shot they had. Ryan related how Alexander told him how disappointed he was in his younger son, and how he felt Michael was responsible for Alex's death. When he found out what Michael had done to Bianca, the old man almost checked out right there and then. Zach thought Alexander was horrified that Michael had blackened the Cambias name, but if he had raped an innocent girl, his father would have paid her off, made it all disappear. When he escaped, he left all his father's hatred for Michael, and he couldn't take it. Ryan told him that at his funeral, his father was watching Michael, “And he saw him smile at your coffin. And your father never forgave Michael for that, never. That's why he hated Michael.” He related how Alexander had recovered, but when he learned that they didn't have enough evidence to make Michael pay for what he had done to Bianca, it was too much for his heart and he died. Zach thought it was peculiar that his father had only been concerned about possessions as he was dying. Ryan recalled how Alexander had made him promise not to let him down. He never mentioned his mother, or the name Amelia. Zach sighed they were missing something, “Why can’t we figure this out?” All Ryan could do was give him the names of the doctor and nurse at the hospital when Alex died. When Spike started to cry, Zach went to the baby. After fixing a bottle for his son, Ryan was touched at seeing Zach’s tenderness with Spike. He told him about trying to draw the killer out; Zach called that good, “You do what you have to do.” After he left, Ryan got a fax from the killer, “Nice try. Too late!” IT’S YOU—YOU KILLED HER! Zoe looked up at her attacker and exclaimed, “It’s you—you killed her!” She managed to rip a button from the man’s coat before he dragged her into the bushes and choked her until she lost consciousness. NO ESCAPE FOR YOU Babe woke up and was frightened to see she wasn’t in a hospital. She flashed back on her masked and hooded attacker, and was overtaken by fear. As she pleaded for her life, she saw J.R.’s face and heard his words, that she had to choose between her son and her mother; the monitors reflected her distress. HE’S PRIVILEGED Josh and J.R. clashed again, with J.R. accusing his rival of being responsible for Babe’s death. Josh got a call from the nurse about Babe’s condition and tried to leave, but J.R. said they weren’t finished. Josh walked out, and Kendall stopped J.R. from going after him to pick a fight. J.R. left the room and caught the elevator Josh was on. He was angry when Jack came along and said he had to leave, as he didn’t want their security compromised. J.R. asked if Josh got to stick around? He was Kendall’s family, so he must be privileged! Kendall told Jack that her heart would have stopped if J.R. discovered their secret in the subbasement. When she asked if he blamed Zach for everything that had happened, Jack said no, it wasn’t his fault, and he knew he was doing everything he could to catch this killer. He told Kendall he loved her and she would always be his daughter, no matter what happened with Erica; that was a marriage vow that would last forever. IF YOU WANT ME TO PUT OUT SOME FEELERS Erica called Tad to her suite to ask that he find Josh, noting no one knew more about losing a child. Jeff insisted Josh just needed some time to himself and he’d be fine, but Erica felt that he had lost his reason for living; they had to act now, before Josh did something completely irrational and desperate that he couldn’t undo. Jeff excused himself when he got a call from Josh, who said they had a situation, “I need your help.” Jeff said he had to go to the hospital, but he had a feeling about this. Josh was fine, trust him. When he wanted to get in touch with them, he would. After he left, Erica commented that he’d seemed strange. Did he think Jeff was right, that if she just gave Josh some time and some space, he would get over Babe's death and come back? Tad said Josh was a highly intelligent adult; he didn’t think she had to worry about him, but if she wanted him to put out some feelers, he’d put some guys on it and they’d bring Josh home to her. I CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH, DAD Josh asked the nurse what set Babe off, and learned it was when she realized that she wasn't in a hospital. He declared then the next time she woke up, she was going to be in her own hospital. He gave her a card and said to call this number, ask for anything she wanted. Alone with Babe, Josh watched as she slept, and told her she didn’t have to be scared anymore, he wasn’t going to let her die on him. When Jeff arrived, Josh explained how he’d stabilized her, and asked him to take a look, make sure he didn’t miss anything, “I can’t lose her.” Jeff thought she had a fine doctor. Was he sure he didn’t want to reconsider coming back to work at the hospital? Josh knew he put a lot on the line to make this happen, “I can’t thank you enough, Dad.” Jeff smiled that his calling him “Dad” was thanks enough. IT DOESN’T GET SAFER THAN THAT Zach returned and told Kendall to pack her bags, they were going to Vegas; there were some answers in the desert and she’d be just as safe there as she was in Pine Valley. Jack agreed it might give them the opportunity to feed this guy enough rope to hang himself while she was safe in Vegas and Babe was hidden downstairs. Zach agreed, it didn’t get safer than that. SLEEP IT OFF! J.R. went to Dixie’s grave and cried that she wasn’t supposed to be there—he was sorry it had taken him so long to forgive her. A hand reached out to grab his ankle; he saw it was Zoe, badly beaten and barely conscious, but blamed her for Babe’s death and taunted her instead of getting help. Telling her to sleep it off, he left. Zoe’s hand opened, revealing the button she pulled from her attacker’s coat.

pika- 02-22-2007

Wednesday, February 21, 2007 WHERE ELSE WOULD YOU BE? As a P.A. announcer paged Dr. Lowell to Pediatrics, Babe woke up. When she wondered if she was in the hospital, Josh asked, “Where else would you be, Babe?” Babe didn’t remember the room, and Josh said she had been out of it. When she pro-*test*-('")ed that he wasn’t a doctor anymore, Josh said he had reclaimed his stethoscope because of her. She asked about her mama and Little A, and became agitated when she remembered that J.R. could ruin Krystal’s life. Josh lied and said J.R. had agreed to put everything on hold; he also told her that her bodyguard was going to be fine, and her mama had been there to see her that morning while she was asleep. He urged her to rest, and he would call her mother to let her know Babe loved and missed her, and Little A, too. When the nurse returned, Josh stepped outside, into the rest of the hotel suite in which a hospital room had been hurriedly constructed, and turned on the tape of a P.A. announcer, “Dr. Conway to ICU, Dr. Conway to ICU.” SOME RANDOM BEATING? Bianca went to Babe’s grave, and found a badly beaten Zoe; she called for help, and went with her to the hospital. Before she was taken away by ambulance, Zoe’s hand opened, and the button fell from her grasp. Bianca was stunned to learn that the attack happened the night before, and called the police to report a crime. When Derek arrived, Bianca was appalled at his attitude toward the possibility that Zoe’s beating was a hate crime; he felt catching the serial killer before he killed Kendall was more important than some random beating. Bianca felt he should know what it felt like to be targeted because of who you are! His nephew, Terrence, was viciously attacked because of the color of his skin. Why wasn’t he jumping at the chance to fight this kind of discrimination? When Derek shrugged that her rock star friend should have known that putting on a dress and strolling through a cemetery late at night was going to make her a target, Bianca angrily asked if he was saying she asked for it? “Did I ask to be raped?” Derek said he would look into Zoe's attack, but the number one thing on his to-do list was catching the man who wanted her sister dead. NOW’S YOUR CHANCE Krystal saw J.R. hesitating over the decanter of liquor, and told him to go ahead, spill her dirty little secret. This was his chance! She knew he was going to do it eventually, so just get it over with. J.R. insisted he wasn’t going to drink, or tell his father. His father needed her, and he needed her, too, to keep the connection to Babe for himself and his son. Charlotte was going to be his little sister and he’d love her, and it didn’t matter who the father was. He realized he was a selfish jackass, but family was everything to him. When he convinced Krystal that his regret over what he’d done to Babe was sincere and that he wanted her to help raise Little Adam, Krystal saw why Babe loved him so much and wondered why he couldn't have turned back into this man for her before she died? She said that Babe always forgave him, and she was sure she would this time, too. J.R. asked, “Do you forgive me?” SONNY DOESN’T HAVE PATIENCE FOR MUCH OF ANYTHING At the hotel in Las Vegas, Kendall and Zach played the part of an intimidating gangster and his moll wife, Sonny and Carla Suarez. Zach was upset when Kendall said she felt more free and in control than she’d been in a long time. He told her he was there looking for answers, but didn’t even know the question. Later, they went to the hospital where Alexander died and spoke to the nurse who had cared for him. Kendall told the nurse she was Alexander’s granddaughter, and explained she didn't even know there was an Alexander Cambias Sr. until long after he died. She was blown away when she got this random phone call from this Ryan Lavery and he told her that she had inherited a fortune. As she questioned the nurse, who couldn’t tell her any more than she already knew, Zach thought about coming up with the plan to fake Babe’s death, and how Josh, Jeff, Joe and Jack were in on it. HE WAS THERE Bianca was stunned when Zoe remembered that J.R. had found her last night, but left her on the ground in the cemetery. Krystal told J.R. that she forgave him, and Adam was pleased that they could be a real family. As they reminisced about Babe, Bianca showed up and confronted J.R., calling him a heartless son of a bitch! A BITTER, UNLOVED MAN Kendall and Zach walked through the cemetery to Alexander’s grave; she said now she knew why he was so quiet on the car ride here. She read the headstone, “Alexander Cambias, Sr., Beloved Father, Beloved Husband, 1942-2003." She could tell that Zach was upset, and didn’t think it was a good idea to come there. She looked again at the inscription and said his father was not beloved, not by him or anyone. He died a bitter, unloved man. As her words echoed in his ears, Zach began digging with his hands, brushing away the decorative rocks and the soil beneath them.

Thursday, February 22, 2007 THERE’S A SECRET IN THAT GRAVE As Zach stared at the headstone with the family crest, a large bird, perhaps a falcon, Kendall said his father was not beloved, not by him or anyone. He died a bitter, unloved man. As her words echoed in his ears, Zach screamed in anguish as he began digging with his hands, brushing away the rocks and the soil beneath it. When Kendall stopped him, Zach ordered the guards, “Dig him up.” He told Kendall he knew what he was doing, “There’s a secret in that grave.” After intimidating the cemetery director, a backhoe was brought in. As the exhumation continued, Zach shared instances of Alexander’s cruelty, and how his father had made his life miserable, taking away what he cared about, until he made the decision to leave. He really tried to suck it up and stick it out, but he couldn’t do it. He just had to get out, so he did. His father had laughed as he said he could never escape, he would know what he did, wherever he went, and he would stop it. He staged a fatal car crash, and was there at his own funeral, looking on and seeing his dad grieving, “It was my turn to laugh.” NOT MY SECRET TO TELL Tad realized that Jeff knew exactly where Josh was, and was angry that he was keeping it from Erica. Jeff said to trust him, he didn’t want to know. As they argued the point, Erica came in and demanded to be let in on the truth. Tad left, and Erica asked Jeff what he was covering? She was furious when he admitted he’d heard from Josh, but he refused to betray his son’s confidence by telling her; it wasn’t his secret to tell. Erica demanded he prove his love by coughing up the information immediately, or that was the end of them. Jeff refused to violate Josh’s trust to placate her, and Erica stormed out. NO REASON TO UPSET YOU When he said Krystal had sent her love and would see her later, Babe knew something was wrong or her mama would be by her side. She asked if he was lying to her—was she going to die? Josh agreed she would, 60 or 70 years from now. Babe sighed that she couldn’t leave her son to learn from his father. Babe thought medicine suited him, and that he should go back to it permanently. Told J.R. hadn’t been to see her, she asked if J.R. had even cared if she died. Answering the question herself, she knew she was a fool for thinking J.R. would change. CHANDLERS ARE ABOUT LOYALTY Bianca was furious about J.R. walking away from Zoe after her attack, and called him cold, vicious and heartless. When she accused him of blackmailing Babe, Adam wanted to know what she meant. J.R. claimed Zoe had made it up, and Adam agreed with him when he insinuated that she had brought it on herself. Bianca asked J.R. if he always had to have somebody to hate? Before J.R. left for an A.A. meeting, Adam wanted to know what he was using to blackmail Babe. J.R. told him it was the photo of Babe and Zoe, and Krystal backed up his story. J.R. told his dad to learn from his stupid mistakes, “Don’t do anything to Krystal that you’re going to regret.” Adam wondered, “Why would I do anything to Krystal?” J.R. asked if hurting the women they loved didn’t run in their genes? Adam thought it was about loyalty. J.R. left, and Adam asked his wife if she was keeping something from him? Krystal just wanted to drop it and have a little peace in the house. BETTER TO FACE THE WORLD AS WHO YOU REALLY ARE Derek was skeptical of everything Zoe said, openly telling Jack he thought their victim was full of B.S. As he started to leave, Zoe remembered that her attacker spit on her, unable to contain his disdain; he should -*test*-('") her clothes for DNA. Unimpressed, Derek said simple assault was a police matter; Zoe felt he was sorry she wasn’t the Satin Slayer, as that would wrap up the case of his daughter’s attackers. In the hallway, Jack asked if Zoe was right, was this about Dani? The way he treated Zoe wasn’t like him, and he wanted him to run the saliva sample. Zoe might not be the killer, but he was heading up the task force, so with all due respect, he was ordering him to run that DNA -*test*-('") right now. Derek reluctantly went back into Zoe’s room and collected her clothing. Tad asked Jack if he was really sure that Kendall was safe in that hotel room? Jack nodded, Zach was keeping a close eye on her. Zoe was surprised when Julia was kind and not judgmental. When Zoe said she was so angry and maybe it was better to disguise who she was, Julia advised her, from someone who had spent a lot of time in hiding, “It's always better to face the world as who you really are.” Bianca and Julia told Zoe there were a lot of things she would have to learn if she was going to live her life as a woman. Zoe wondered how? It was far more complicated than she ever imagined. MISSING? Seeing J.R. at the hospital, Erica snapped the only good thing about her son being missing was that he couldn’t get to him anymore! J.R. asked, “Missing? I just saw him, I know where he is.” Erica thought he was lying, but J.R. said he could get to Josh anytime he wanted. IT COULD LEAD THE WAY TO THE KILLER Zoe remembered pulling a button from the attacker’s coat. She must have dropped it in the cemetery, and it was probably still there. When Bianca wanted to tell Derek and her Uncle Jack to go look for it, Zoe said no, don’t. Derek would just write it off as another transgender tall tale. Bianca said she would find it and then they would have to believe her. Bianca went to the cemetery and found the shiny button with a large bird, perhaps a falcon, on it. Stunned at the significance, she gasped, “Oh, my god.” YOU DON’T THINK Zach thought was his dad, all about vengeance, punishment. He was being taught a lesson. Kendall asked if he thought the killer was carrying out his father's instructions? That his father couldn't let him go even when he died? Zach was thinking more than that. Kendall gasped that he didn’t think… There was no way! The coffin was opened, and found to be filled with large desert rocks.

pika- 02-26-2007

Friday, February 23, 2007 WHAT DO YOU HAVE NOW? Erica was taken aback when J.R. said he’d just seen Josh at the casino. The two clashed, and Erica slapped J.R. when he commented on her juggling husbands, “And you called Babe a tramp!” When J.R. spoke of Josh not being able to take rejection like a man, Erica countered that he was the one who would rather drink himself into oblivion and dive out a window than take control of his life. Of course, that was when he had a life. What did he have now? He could proclaim his love for Babe all he liked, but the fact was that Babe always cared more for Josh than him, and he knew it. IS THERE ANOTHER CAMBIAS OUT THERE? Bianca brought the button she’d found to Ryan; she filled him in and asked what he saw? Ryan saw what they both saw when they were at work, on the letterhead, stationery, business cards. It was the Cambias crest. Bianca said she thought that Miranda and Zach were the only remaining relatives, “Is there another Cambias out there we don’t know about who’s committing murder?” Who but a member of the Cambias family would have a piece of clothing with this button on it? Ryan wondered why she brought it to him, rather than Jack or Derek? Bianca said her uncle was swamped, and there was no point in telling Derek, who refused to acknowledge the killer might have any involvement in Zoe’s attack. The Chief was acting like a narrow-minded jerk! She didn’t know what the button meant, but wanted Ryan to find out, “I trust that you’ll do this right.” MANO A MANO Zach found a note in his father’s coffin, “My son was dead and is alive again. He was lost and is found.” Kendall said he was right, but his father didn’t know he was alive when he supposedly buried. No one knew. Kendall agreed that someone had to dig up this casket and put that note inside. The cemetery director realized he’d been on vacation when the disinterment took place. Someone impersonating Zach had ordered the coffin dug up; Zach wanted to talk to whoever was responsible, but the deputy director had died since the order was issued. Seeing the coffin had been opened on July 23rd, Zach said that was the anniversary of the day he supposedly died. Back at their suite, Zach told Kendall his father was doing this to teach him a lesson. He believed Alexander had faked his own death because of Michael. When Michael raped Bianca, he betrayed him, dishonored the Cambias name, so he had to be punished, and he used his favorite weapon to do it. He found out what Michael wanted the most and took it away; Michael wanted his father’s approval. Alexander faked his death and handed Cambias over to Ryan. He had to redeem the family name, and what better way to do that than giving it to a complete stranger and play dead? He betrayed his dad, the same way Michael did. And just like Michael, he needed to be punished. His father killed innocent women, and he wanted two more lives before it was over. Kendall nodded, “Mine and yours.” Zach refused to let her call Jack, insisting he had to take care of this himself. As Kendall insisted there was no way he could know they were there, Alexander called. Zach agreed to meet him alone, just the two of them, and Alexander laughed that he liked that, mama a mano. Telling him to meet him at a warehouse, he hung up. Kendall told Zach if he was going, she was going, but Zach refused to let her come. Everything had been leading up to this, father and son, “It's between him and me, alone.” THE ENIGMA THAT IS J.R. CHANDLER J.R. went to see Zoe to tell her to stop talking about his blackmailing Babe, or someone would start digging to find Krystal’s secret. The two argued over what Babe would have wanted. J.R. said he’d promised to keep the secret Babe was holding onto about her mother, “Nobody’s going to find anything out unless you blow it.” Zoe thought it was a little late to do right by Babe, and wondered about J.R.’s motives. Later, Bianca came back, and Zoe worried that she’d made a grave error in judgment, about the enigma that is J.R. Chandler. When she questioned if she could also be wrong about her assailant, Bianca insisted she’d been attacked by the Satin Slayer, and they were lucky she was alive. WHERE ARE MY CHILDREN? At the casino, Erica was upset when the guard wouldn’t let her into Kendall’s room. Ryan arrived and flashed back on the killer’s message, “Stay away from Slater. He killed your sister, he'll kill the mother of your child." Shoving the guard out of the way, Ryan went through the door calling Kendall’s name. Finding the suite empty, Ryan thought of Bianca asking if there was another Cambias out there that they didn’t know about who was committing murder, and Zach coming to him and saying he needed to know what happened when his father died. He realized Zach had gotten Kendall out of Pine Valley, and convinced Erica they had to keep what they knew to themselves. A BIRD SWOOPED DOWN ON HER Tad lashed out at Aidan for the way he was doing his job, and Jamie stepped in to keep the men from coming to blows. Tad said he made Dixie a promise he was going to nail this son of a bitch, and that’s exactly what he was going to do. He didn’t care who he had to walk over to do it, or if she wasn’t there to see it, he was not going to let her down, and that’s all they were doing. J.R. came in and said no, his mother loved Tad, and he never let her down. He convinced Tad to let him help, and offered a suggestion that Tad thought was a good lead. Ryan rushed in and asked what Danielle remembered about her attacker? Aidan told him she thought it was a guy wearing black gloves, and she remembered a bird swooping down on her. Ryan told them, “Gentlemen? We know who the killer is.” PROMISE ME THAT YOU’LL COME BACK Zach left, and Kendall cried as she prayed he’d come back to her. Zach drew his gun before kicking open the door of the warehouse. A blinding light came on, and he saw what appeared to be his mother, very much alive and smiling at him.

pika- 03-01-2007

Monday, February 26, 2007 SOME THINGS ARE JUST LOST FOREVER Bianca told Zoe that Ryan said he would find out where the button came from, but Zoe sensed she was still troubled. Zoe held her when Bianca cried as she spoke of how things changed so quickly, and some things were just lost forever. SO NAÏVE At the casino, Erica was calling to leave another message for Kendall when she saw Jeff; she ducked out of sight as he was admitted to a private elevator. After the door closed, Erica went to the guard and said she was running late to meet her son and Dr. Martin. Could he tell her what floor they were on? When the guard refused, Erica threatened his job—did he know who she was? The man, Bill, did know, she was Erica Kane, but it didn’t matter. Erica made a call and sighed that he was so naive. Babe woke with a start and called for Josh; he touched her hand and said it was fine, he was there. Jeff was pleased that Babe was recovering on schedule; he and Babe both credited Josh with saving her. Jeff agreed with Josh, the more sleep she got, the faster she would heal. Babe drifted off to sleep, and Josh told his dad it had finally happened, she was over J.R. He had gone too far this time, and threatened to wreck Krystal’s life. He didn’t know the details, but he used some threat to blackmail Babe. Jeff wondered if he really thought he and Babe might have a chance together? Josh was just glad she’s alive. Jeff told Josh that Erica was out for blood, “Mine.” He thought she was catching on. She was desperate to find Josh, and knew he was hiding something. NEW EVIDENCE? Bianca went to the station to see if the DNA results were back, insisting that DNA sample could lead Derek to the killer. Seeing his expression, Bianca asked if he still didn’t think Zoe was attacked by the Satin Slayer, even with the new evidence? Surprised, both Jack and Derek asked what new evidence is that? Bianca filled them in about the button, and was surprised Ryan hadn’t brought it to them. Derek thought the odds of the button being connected to the murders weren’t good, but Bianca accused him of being biased against Zoe. Jack was angry when Lt. Perry brought him another message from the killer and no one seemed to remember anything about the messenger that delivered it. The note read, “Goodbye. I have what I wanted. I’ve left a parting gift.” THREE STEPS AHEAD ALL ALONG Ryan, Tad, Aidan, Jamie and J.R. boarded a private plane headed for Las Vegas. They discussed the significance of the button with the Cambias crest on it, and how Zach had questioned Ryan about his father, from the time in the desert with him to the guy’s last breath. Aidan asked if that’s why he chose Vegas? Ryan told him that’s why Zach did. He’d been three steps ahead of the rest of them all along. After he got a call from Jack, Tad told the others that the killer set a trap. Zach and Kendall walked right into it. BRAVA, MY DEAR As Zach confronted the woman in the warehouse, Alexander plunged a syringe into his neck and Zach fell to the floor. He smiled at the woman, “Brava, my dear. Lovely job.” Alexander told her to take off the mask; she removed the latex mask and pro-*test*-('")ed that she did not sign on to be an accessory to murder! Alexander shot and killed her. HEY, GORGEOUS As Kendall waited and worried, she imagined scenarios where Zach returned and told her it was all over, or returned injured. She picked up his jacket and held it to her, drinking in his scent, and found a letter in a pocket, “Hey, Gorgeous, If you’re reading this, well, I wish you weren’t, because it means I’ve been gone so long you’re snooping around, and that’s not a good sign. You know I love you more than I can say, but I’m going to try to put it down here so you can always hold onto it, refer back when you need a reminder.” She cried as she read it, knowing it was both a love letter and a goodbye letter in case he couldn’t come back to her. In it, Zach told her to call Ryan right away; he knew he’d keep her safe. He signed it, Always, only you, Zach.” Kendall cried and took a deep breath before calling Ryan. ALL BETS ARE OFF Derek and Jack, with Bianca following, rushed to a disturbance call at Kendall's new house. There, they found Alexander’s parting gift, Raymond Jenkins’ dead body. Jack realized all bets were off. Anybody could be next. MAKING HIM PAY Ryan got a call from Kendall, who was relieved to learn he was on his way to Vegas. Ryan, Tad, Aidan, Jamie and J.R. all spent the flight lost in thoughts of their lost loved ones, and what they wanted to do to the killer. DO YOU TRUST ME? Kendall got a call and heard Zach’s voice telling her he needed her, and to meet him at the warehouse immediately. Alexander stood over Zach’s body as he played a tape of Zach’s voice; Kendall listened to her husband, “No arguments, Kendall. You have to come right away, and alone.” When the guards wouldn’t let her leave, per Zach’s orders, Kendall slipped out the patio doors. Tad, Ryan and co. arrived to find that she was gone. ALL THAT MATTERS Josh agreed he’d have to tell Babe the truth but wanted to wait until her heart was stronger; she was safe, and that was all that mattered. As Babe woke up and Jeff started to check her out again, Erica came into the room. WE THOUGHT THEY WERE Bianca and Jack were stunned to learn the DNA sample was a close enough match to Zach to be related. Jack thought it made some sense, tied in with the button, but Derek pro-*test*-('")ed that all of Slater’s relatives were dead. Bianca corrected, “We thought they were.” Tad got a call from Jack, and told the others they didn’t have much time, because the police were right behind them. LIFE IS SO FRAGILE Kendall arrived at the warehouse to find Zach unconscious on the floor, and thanked God when she found a pulse. Alexander told her to stand up; she snapped there was no way she’d listen to him! Alexander pointed a gun at Zach as he asked, “Really? Life is so fragile. And his ends right now unless you reconsider.”

pika- 03-01-2007

Tuesday, February 27, 2007 I DON’T KNOW WHERE SHE IS! Kendall’s guards insisted they didn’t know where Kendall was or how she got out of the room. Aidan realized she’d gone over the balcony; it was a bit of a drop, but wouldn’t stop her. He managed to convince Dexter, the manager, that Mr. Suarez wouldn’t be pleased if he didn’t help them locate his wife; they learned from surveillance video that she had gone over the balcony and caught a cab. Ryan called the cab company demanding to speak to the cabbie—it was an emergency! YOU WON’T WIN Kendall arrived at the warehouse to find Zach unconscious on the floor, and thanked God when she found a pulse. Alexander told her to stand up; she snapped there was no way she’d listen to him! Alexander pointed a gun at Zach as he asked, “Really? Life is so fragile. And his ends right now unless you reconsider.” Kendall agreed to do whatever he wanted—just don’t shoot him! While unconscious, Zach had a vision of his mother telling him he had nothing to be sorry about, he never hurt her. Then, his father’s voice, asking Amelia if she thought he wouldn’t notice that damn gardenia? Did she think he would let her leave? She wouldn’t win, and wouldn’t get away from him! YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD! Erica was stunned to see Babe, and exclaimed she was supposed to be dead! She heard the announcement over a P.A. calling for a Dr. Conway to ICU, and asked what was going on? Jeff got her out of the room, where Erica demanded the truth. Furious, she said she’d begged him to help her find their son, and finds him practicing medicine in the basement of a casino on a woman who was supposed to be dead! When Jeff explained how Josh, Zach and Jack had taken the chance to save Babe’s life, she was stunned that Jack was in on it. As she blamed Jeff and Josh for putting Kendall’s life in danger, Jack arrived. Erica demanded that Jack tell her this was over, but he said it wouldn’t be over until they caught the killer, and she would do her part. She would not say one damn word to anybody about what she’d seen there today! When Erica asked if he could swear to her that Kendall was all right, Jack couldn’t. He knew Kendall was in Vegas with Zach, but they had lost touch with them; he was leaving for Las Vegas now. Josh warned Erica if she breathed so much as a word that Babe was still alive, “I swear to God you're not my mother.” Erica told Jeff and Jack if anything happened to Kendall, she would never forgive either one of them. When Josh was out of the room, Babe tried to get the nurse to bring her a phone. Wendy agreed she would love to, but Dr. Madden would have her skin. Her heart was still fragile, and any emotional stimulus could cause a relapse or worse. Babe noticed a sticker on a piece of equipment, “Ace Hospital Rentals”, and asked Wendy when the hospital started renting equipment? Wendy said Dr. Madden had insisted they rent the old equipment when there was a recall on the new setup. He didn't want to take any chances when it came to her recovery. Later, when another nurse brought a tray of food, Babe asked for a wheelchair, saying she had to get out of there. HEADED FOR THE LIGHT The Pine Valley posse rushed into the warehouse to find Zach unconscious, seemingly headed for the light. He came to, and said Kendall was still at the hotel. Told that she left after getting a call, supposedly from him, Zach realized his father had her. Aidan found the body of the woman hired to impersonate Amelia, along with a note for Zach, “Kendall chose to save your life instead of hers." Zach sighed that was his punishment; he took away Alexander’s firstborn, and now he wanted him to pay. IF DADDY BOUGHT ANYTHING Back at the hotel, Jamie searched real estate transactions; J.R. suggested he contact the Nevada Department of Corporations. If Daddy bought anything, he would set up a set of dummy corporations, sub corps. He sighed that Kendall was out there God knows where. They had to find her before she ended up… ANSWER ME! Ryan and Zach went to the hospital where Alexander supposedly died, and confronted Nurse Johnson. Zach demanded that she tell him how she helped fake his father’s death; he warned if she didn’t start cooperating, she would be the one who was dead. THE BEST I CAN DO Tad and Aidan followed Kendall’s cell phone signal to a seedy part of town, and found a hooker using it to make calls. Asked where she got the phone, she told them it was a gift. Tad said like hell! Did she want to be charged as an accessory to kidnapping? The woman admitted that some guy tossed it out of a car down the block a couple of hours ago. Tad asked if she got a look at the car? She said it was dark, with tinted windows. That was the best she could do. THE GREAT ALEXANDER CAMBIAS Alexander led Kendall into a house that she saw was exactly like the new home she and Zach bought. He brought up Michael, who Kendall called a sick freak and a rapist. Alexander told her that Michael was weak, and the reason he had to die. He thought he'd lost Alex, Michael was dead to him. No heir, no one worthy enough to carry on the Cambias mantle, but then a miracle, destiny. He met a man in every way his heir, a real man, Ryan Lavery, offering him the future he thought had been destroyed. With Ryan, his hopes were renewed, “I found peace, I could die, so I did.” Kendall thought it was too bad he didn’t stay dead. She was horrified when Alexander said he’d been watching Spike and Miranda together, and vowed to kill him if he went near either of them. When Alexander said he’d never dream of hurting a child, Kendall called him a liar—he threatened to kill his own son tonight! Alexander claimed his son Alex had started the war; a good parent knew the importance of teaching a lesson, and his son needed to be disciplined. Kendall picked up a vase and waited for her chance. As Alexander said he wouldn’t stop until his son was punished, Kendall swung the vase, but Alexander was quicker and deflected the blow.

pika- 03-01-2007

Wednesday, February 28, 2007 WHAT WAS THAT LOOK? Erica went to her office and called J.R., saying this was something he’d want to hear. As she told him it had to do with his wife, Josh came in and disconnected the call. Erica claimed she was trying to help a grieving family, but Josh knew she was trying to stick it to Babe. Erica admitted she was upset that Josh was focusing on Babe rather than Kendall, and warned Babe might end up hating him for keeping the truth from her loved ones. Josh told her it took a while, but he was really trying to be part of this family. He loved Kendall, and would never do anything to put her at risk. He knew she didn’t like Babe, “But I love her. And please don't make me choose.” Bianca came in and was relieved to see him back in Pine Valley. She caught a look between Erica and Josh; Erica said it was to see if she’d come around, and she had. Josh hugged her and whispered “thank you” before leaving. When Bianca said she trusted her Uncle Jack and Zach to keep Kendall safe, Erica told her not to take their side. She knew she said she didn’t want to be anything like her, but could she see how difficult this was for her? Bianca knew what she said before was hurtful. She was angry, and didn’t get this thing between her and Jeff. She loved her, and never wanted her to feel like she was alone, because she wasn’t. WHY WON’T YOU TELL ME? Babe slipped out of her room and saw the elaborate setup designed to convince her she was in a hospital. She looked around in confusion before falling to the floor. Josh found her; he gave her an injection as Babe asked, “Why won't you tell me where…” She drifted off to sleep again, and Josh said she was safe, “You'll always be safe with me.” I WOULDN’T RISK IT Ryan told Nurse Johnson they were offering her a way out of this, so she should take it. She admitted that, with her help and that of the attending physician, Mr. Cambias convinced the world he was dead. In return, an envelope of cash was delivered to her annually. Saying she’d told them everything, she insisted she had to get back to work. Ryan said her shift had just ended, permanently. He gave her a card and said to call the number on it, and do herself a favor, don’t go home. Zach agreed, he wouldn’t risk it. They would make sure she was safe, and Alex’s men couldn’t get to her. Zach flashed back on his childhood, his father saying he had to be punished for some transgression. He told Ryan he was going to call some of his business associates, and he’d be back. TOO BLIND TO SEE Kendall defiantly told Alexander, “If you’re going to kill me, I’m going down fighting.” He was trying to make Zach pay for being his own man, but he would never, ever break either of them. Zach was an amazing man, but he was too blind to see that. Alexander said he would be sure to let Alex, Jr. know how much his wife loved him. Kendall said the only reason she came with him was that he said he’d leave Zach alone; Alexander found it very charming that she believed him, especially knowing how difficult it was for her to take anyone at their word. Kendall was stunned at all he knew about her, and that he had been watching them in Pine Valley for months. Alexander said he would let her live under one condition, that she leave Zach and return to Ryan. Kendall called that ridiculous, and denied that she was still in love with Ryan. When he said his son didn’t know how to love, Kendall cried as she said he was wrong—he didn’t know him at all! Alexander told her to forget Zach. Be honest with herself, “Admit it—you never stopped loving Ryan.” Say it! Kendall cried, “All right, I love Ryan. I never stopped loving him, okay?” Alexander told her he would leave Alex, Jr. alone if she went back to Ryan. The decision was hers. Kendall tearfully agreed she’d end things with Zach. Alexander said he’d bring the car around so she could go, but first, he had something he wanted to show her. IF I COULD JUST GET BABE BACK J.R. hung up after Erica’s call, thinking the call was dropped. Tad returned and told them they’d found Kendall’s cell phone, but she wasn’t on the other end of it. Jamie found a listing for a property they thought Alexander could have purchased; all were disappointed when it turned out to be a private yoga spa. When J.R. said he couldn’t wait to get his hands around this maniac’s throat, Jamie insisted he couldn’t get payback for Babe's murder by committing one of his own. J.R. lamented the way he treated Babe near the end, and wished he could just get her back. He’d do things so differently if he could just hold his wife one more time… THE BIG SHOWDOWN Zach went back to the warehouse and called out, “All right, Father, I'm here.” When Ryan came in, he lowered his gun and said he told him not to come here. Ryan guessed it had all been building to this, the big showdown. He was waiting for a face-to-face with his old man, wasn’t he? Zach told him to just go, but Ryan argued that he could help him. Alex liked him, and left him his fortune… Zach shouted, “He doesn't like you! He sent you a note, you let him down. This is between me and my father, not you.” They heard a car speeding off, and rushed out to find a stuffed teddy bear. Zach wound it up; as it played a song, he was transported back to his childhood when he had given the bear to his mom. She had called it beautiful, and she loved how it played their favorite song. He remembered them singing it together, “Let's go to Red Rock, Red Rock, Red Rock, let's go to Red Rock and play all day.” When Zach said his father wanted him to meet him, Ryan asked where? Zach took Ryan off guard and knocked him out; he left the warehouse alone. NOTHING QUITE LIKE THE FRAGRANCE OF GARDENIAS Alexander took Kendall to a large room filled with gardenias in bloom. He offered kudos on her performance back at the house, but he didn’t buy it for a minute. He held out a gardenia on a satin ribbon and ordered, “Tie this around your neck.”

pika- 03-05-2007

Thursday, March 1, 2007 THE DREAM OF BEING WITH YOU Bianca was upset when Zoe left the hospital without a bodyguard, and also worried about Kendall. She asked, “You're Zarf, too, aren't you? I mean, part of him is you.” Zoe sighed she needed to find out what was the disguise and what was real. She admitted she did want to get rid of some of Zarf's unrealistic preoccupations, such as the dream of being with Bianca; she knew she had piled too much on her. Bianca told her that she once came on too strong, too fast to a friend of hers, Frankie. Zoe guessed that story was going to have a sad ending; Bianca agreed, more than she knew. When Zoe said she’d come across a marvelous gender-reassignment program in Baltimore, Bianca felt was going to need somebody she could count on, a friend, and she wanted to help her. When she asked that she not leave Pine Valley, Zoe agreed, if she wanted her to stay, she’d stay. YOU WON’T WIN About to leave for Las Vegas, Jack wasn’t pleased to hear Barbara had called Reggie, but asked if he could trust her to stay here while he was gone? Barbara indignantly said she would never walk out on their children! Erica rushed in, glad she had caught Jack, because she was going with him. Jack insisted she wasn’t going, and Barbara suggested she just say “au revoir” and thank her lucky stars he still gave a damn about her, “Even though you’re sleeping with Jeff Martin!” As the women argued, Jack walked out. Erica was upset when Jack said they both knew she was sleeping with Jeff, didn’t they? He left, and Erica went back inside. Barbara asked if she forgot something? Erica agreed, “Yes, this!” and slapped her across the face. She accused her of waiting to swoop in on Jack; Barbara shrugged that she could rationalize losing all she wanted. Erica said she’d never lost anything to her! She was always the pathetic, desperate consolation prize, “And if I didn't despise you, I would pity you.” Sean told Barbara that Jack didn’t want her, so she should do herself a favor and move on. When she spoke of her love for his father, Sean wondered if that was why she was boffing a tennis pro at the club before his dad died? He told her not to ever play him—she wouldn’t win! PLEASE MAKE THE CALL Police arrived at the warehouse where Ryan lay unconscious, and thought he was the killer. He urged them to call the PVPD, saying Alexander Cambias, Sr., was the Satin Slayer. Cambias had his daughter-in-law stashed away. If they didn’t get everybody on his force on this right now, more innocent people were going to die. After learning that Alex Senior had died a few years ago, the police wanted to take Ryan in for questioning. As Ryan punched one of the cops, Tad arrived. He, too, told them to call Pine Valley; instead, he and Ryan were arrested. LET’S GO TO RED ROCK As Zach drove through the night, the words of the childhood song ran through his mind, “Let’s go to Red Rock, Red Rock, Red Rock, let’s go to Red Rock and play all day.” MY HOPE FOR THE FUTURE Alexander instructed Kendall to tie the ribbon around her neck. She did so, and he said she was very beautiful. Kendall asked if that was because she looked like Amelia? She told him she understood that Amelia’s death set all this in motion. He blamed his son, but he loved him, too. Alexander sighed he was his hope for the future. Kendall thought this wasn’t just about punishing Zach; it was about him trying to get more time with Amelia. Watching as Alexander put the gun back in his pocket, she seductively told him, “Let me bring back Amelia. Let me try.” She kissed him and said to let her take away his loneliness. Let her make up for what Zach did to him. She only said they were nothing alike because she wanted to hurt him, but Zach was his son through and through. She gasped when he grabbed her arm and twisted it painfully, saying she couldn’t be more wrong! He wanted him to suffer excruciating pain, and would use her to do it. Kendall lashed out at him, scornfully asking if he was going to wave his little gun and fire it off and show her how cool he was? Alexander took aim and fired the gun. RIGHT BACK IN THE NIGHTMARE In their jail cell, Tad asked Ryan what the hell he was thinking? He clocked a cop! Ryan said Zach had to be crazier than he thought if he thought he could do this alone. Tad said if he knew Zach, all he was trying to do was make sure that one of Spike's biological parents stayed alive and well. Slater could take care of himself. Ryan argued that he was battling his father. Alex Cambias was Zach’s Patrick Lavery or Ray Gardner. Facing him would bring him right back into the nightmare of his childhood. He knew what Alex was doing. He was sticking it to Zach the way it would do the most damage, “He’s making him watch Kendall die.” NOT NOW, JEFF! Jeff wanted to talk things out with Erica, but she said he couldn’t keep Josh away from Babe or keep Kendall safe, so they had nothing to talk about. EVERY BIT AS LOVELY AS YOUR MOTHER WAS THAT NIGHT Zach went to the house and saw his father for the first time in years. He asked what he had done with Kendall? Don’t make her pay for what he had done! The two men circled each other, guns pointed at the other, and Alexander spoke of teaching him a lesson. Zach asked what his lesson was, how to be a homicidal maniac? Alexander thought he had killing down, ”You did a pretty fine job on your mother.” Zach lowered his gun and demanded, “Take me to my wife or shoot me now.” Alexander wanted him to beg for forgiveness. Zach held a gun to his throat and said he’d killed the wrong Alexander that day, “Take me to my wife or I will fix that mistake right now.” Alexander led Zach to Kendall, dressed in white, hands bound with white satin ribbon, tears falling down her cheeks, and hooked up at the throat to some kind of device. When Zach warned he would not hurt his wife, Alexander asks, “Me? No, that honor belongs to you. I will not kill Kendall—you will.”

Friday, March 2, 2007 DEAD FOR A LITTLE WHILE After insisting he tell her the truth, Babe was stunned to learn that everyone, including her mama, thought she was dead. Josh insisted it was better that they think she was dead for a little while than this maniac getting to her and she stayed dead forever. Babe asked what about J.R.? Did he really not come to see her because he didn’t care, or because he thought she was dead? “Are you doing all of this just to steal me away from J.R.?” WHAT KEEPS YOU GOING? Krystal found Colby and Adam putting Babe’s clothing in boxes; she grabbed a shirt from Colby and said Babe was hardly cold and she was pawing through her things! Adam explained that he asked Colby to give him a hand with Babe’s belongings. He just thought it best to pack up Babe’s things, and didn’t want her to be the one to have to do it. Krystal cried that it was just too soon. Winifred told Adam that Little A wanted to know where his mommy was. Adam called J.R. so Little Adam could talk to his daddy. J.R. told Adam he would talk to Little A about Babe when he got back home. He told Adam he was with Tad and Jamie, but it was best if that was all he said. Adam was very proud of him. Colby regretted how mean she had been to Babe, and told Krystal if she could bring Babe back, she’d wear a hair net and scrape gum every day for the rest of her life! She sighed there was one thing Babe had that she wanted more than anything, a real mother/daughter relationship. How did she do it? What kept her going? Krystal said it was her baby girl, Babe’s little sister. After Colby went to school and Adam left the room, Krystal held one of Babe’s sweaters to her face as she sobbed. OR WHAT? After searching all night for a clue, Aidan worried that they still hadn’t heard from Tad and Ryan. J.R. answered the knock at the door, and two men rolled a table in, “Room service, gentlemen.” Aidan and Jamie exchanged glances and took out the two hit men disguised as waiters. J.R. asked how the hell Cambias found them so fast? When Aidan said these two geniuses were going to lead them right to him, J.R. pointed a gun and ordered, “Start talking!” One of them sneered, “Or what?” He screamed in pain when J.R. shot him in the leg. NEARING THE END GAME Jack arrived at the jail and raged about Ryan and Tad cutting him out of the loop, going after the killer themselves and getting arrested in the process. They filled him in about Alexander being the Satin Slayer and now having Kendall. Told about Raymond’s murder, Tad worried that if Alexander was taking the time to settle old scores, that meant he was nearing the end game; Ryan said Kendall was the end. They both gaped at Jack when he refused to bail them out. Later, Ryan and Tad were frustrated when a cocky detective insisted on giving them a hard time instead of releasing them. As Jack and the detective sparred, they slipped out of the station house. DEAD MAN’S SWITCH Alexander held up a device and pressed a button as he declared, “One more step, Alex, and she’s dead.” The satin collar around Kendall’s neck contained a dart, poised to inject her with a fatal dose of poison. Had he heard of dead man’s switch? Zach told Kendall, “As long as his thumb is on the switch, you’re fine.” Alexander said he hadn’t learned his lesson yet, had he? In a matter of minutes, his son will have killed his wife, just like he killed his mother. “You did that!” Zach exclaimed—he killed his mom because she was leaving him for Raymond and planned to take her sons with her! Raymond was a real man, not a coward, pushing a woman over a balcony and blaming his 5-year-old son. Alexander claimed he did it to toughen young Alex up; Zach told him how he’d hated him since that day because he took away everything beautiful in his life. He was a sick, twisted old man filled with hate and vengeance! Alexander couldn’t resist telling Zach about the offers Kendall had made him tonight. He demanded an apology, on his knees, or Kendall would die. Zach did as he said, apologizing for causing him pain; he was always right, and now he won. Alexander asked Kendall if she saw how weak he was? She should have closen Ryan, instead of this embarrassment. Kendall cried that her husband was the bravest, strongest, most loving man she had ever known, and she had never been more proud of him. THE OTHER PLACE WASN’T HEAVEN Babe insisted on calling her mama to let her know she was alive, but Adam answered the phone. Josh took it from her hand and asked to speak to Krystal. Adam recognized his voice and furiously told him never to call or go anywhere near his wife or he would kill him. Josh showed up and the mansion and found Krystal in Babe’s bedroom. Krystal sighed that Babe was in a better place; Josh agreed, but it wasn’t Heaven. When he told her Babe was still alive, Krystal collapsed in a dead faint. Josh caught her, breaking her fall to the floor, as Adam came through the door. Babe recalled J.R.’s words to her and imagined J.R. coming to see her body, saying it was good that she was really dead; now he could raise his son his way. From then on, she was nothing but a memory. He and his son would both forget her. HIGH TECH GEAR AND GADGETS Jamie found something; Aidan and J.R. looked at what appeared to be a blueprint on the computer screen, but J.R. exclaimed that was Zach and Kendall's house! Jamie said no, this place was about 20 miles away from there. At the High Tech Gear and Gadget Expo, Ryan hummed the song the teddy bear played into a microphone, and a computer brought up the words to the song. Tad asked, “What the hell is red rock?” IT HAS TO COST YOU AS MUCH Alexander said he couldn’t let Kendall go, “If you're to learn your lesson, it has to cost you as much as it has cost me.” Now he had to see her die. He held out the device and started to lift his thumb from the switch. Zach lunged at him, grabbing his hand, keeping pressure on the switch and pulling him down as Kendall screamed, “No. No!”

Monday, March 5, 2007 IT WILL HELP US BOTH Krystal came to and exclaimed that her Baby Doll was alive! Josh told Adam she might be delirious, and sent him to the medicine cabinet to see what prescriptions Krystal might be taking. Alone with her, Josh said she couldn't tell anyone, not even Adam, that Babe was alive; they had to keep it between them. When Adam returned with just the prenatal vitamins, Krystal told him Josh just came to see her because he missed Babe, too, so they were going to go to the cemetery to see Babe. She thought it would help them both. REALLY FINALLY OVER Erica brought flowers to Babe's room in the hope of seeing Josh, and told Babe she was worried about Kendall. Did she realize that Josh was risking his medical license for her? Babe nodded, she owed him so much for it, and vetoed Erica's suggestion that they call J.R. with the good news that she was alive. Erica wondered how long she planned to stay hidden away like that, but Babe knew she was asking if she and Josh had a future together. As Babe said all she could think about was seeing her mama and knowing her son was okay, Josh brought Krystal in. Krystal hugged her Baby Doll, so grateful to have her back. Babe was relieved that J.R. hadn't told their son about her "death" yet, but concerned he would that night. Krystal assured her she'd figure out a way to keep J.R. from telling Little A without tipping the truth. She knew about the blackmail, and thought J.R. had told her because he felt so horrible, and he swore he would never tell Adam that Tad was her baby's father. She told Babe that she believed his sincerity and regret, but Babe said she couldn't go back to J.R. He'd pushed her too far, and it was really finally over. Erica told Josh that she was making an effort to accept Babe. She knew he loved her, and didn't want to risk losing him, adding she may have already lost one of her children. Josh insisted that Kendall would be all right. When Erica said she was so worried about his future, Josh insisted that his future was with Babe. Erica agreed she'd find a way to tolerate Babe. Asked not to blab to anyone that Babe was alive, Erica said she hadn't yet, but what would happen when her husband found out she was alive? Josh told her they'd deal with it when the time came. It had to be handled just right; nothing was easy when it came to the Chandlers. After Erica left, Josh overheard Babe say there was nothing to stop J.R. from telling Adam that the baby Krystal was carrying was Tad's. GIRLS GONE WILDWIND At Wildwind, Julia wondered when Di was going to get around to telling Aidan she loved him? Di said they were having a good time; things got weird when love got thrown in the mix. Annie admitted her feelings for Ryan, but wasn't going to act on them for fear Emma would be hurt if it didn't work out. Di and Julia urged her to go for it! Annie reminded them they were talking about a man who was emotionally attached to someone else. WHAT CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT RED ROCK CANYON? Ryan and Tad figured out what Red Rock was just about the same time that Aidan, Jamie and J.R. did. When two of the bodyguards returned, Aidan said he had a job for them, a way they could make it up to their boss. He gestured as he said there were two wannabe assassins in that closet, "Guard them with your life. Don't lose them the way you lost Kendall." SUDDENLY SO MESSED UP Colby was upset to find Sean at home playing computer games after she'd been covering for him at school; he snapped that he didn't need her breathing down his neck about skipping classes. After meeting Barbara, Colby guessed his mom was the reason he was suddenly so messed up. SAY GOODBYE TO YOUR WIFE "Say goodbye to your wife, Alex," Alexander ordered. He held out the device and started to lift his thumb from the switch. Zach lunged at him, grabbing his hand, keeping pressure on the switch and pulling him down; the men struggled, and Alexander came up with the gun. Alexander told Zach to learn his damn lesson, and shot him in the arm. Zach managed to keep his thumb on the switch. Alexander accused Zach of doing something unforgivable, destroying a father's love. Kendall was terrified when he said he was going to take her son from Ryan and raise him as his own. As Alexander turned to shoot her, Zach reached down for a knife he had hidden and threw it; it hit Alexander's arm, causing him to drop the gun. After removing the dart and apparatus from Kendall's neck, Zach dragged Alexander into the house. As he said he was going to kill him, Ryan and Tad arrived. Tad convinced Zach not to kill Alexander-it wasn't worth losing his soul. Ryan warned Alexander he would finish him off himself if he ever even spoke his son's name again. Alexander said he disappointed him, "You let Alex have Kendall and you were supposed to keep her away from him. You failed me." Ryan punched him, and Alexander doubled over. SHE JUST NEEDS YOU Adam confided to Stuart that he was worried about Krystal. The light in her eyes was gone. He kept telling himself she was grieving and it would come back when little Charlotte was born, but in his heart, he didn't know if that was going to happen. He loved Krystal and felt so damned helpless. For the first time in his life, he didn't know what to do or how to fix it. Stuart was so happy to hear that! He meant no offense, but a lot of times when he tried to fix stuff, he made it even worse. Maybe if he didn't know what to do, it would be a good idea to just not do anything, "She just needs you, Adam." Later, Erica came to the door and told Adam, "Come with me." LET THAT BE ENOUGH Tad told Zach that killing his father would be the worst mistake he ever made. He had a lot to live for, and shouldn't let his family down, "He lost, you won. Let that be enough." As Alexander was led away, Zach told him that he and Kendall were going to be happy for the rest of their lives. Ryan watched looked on as Zach comforted his wife.

Tuesday, March 6, 2007 I WANT PEACE After his happy reunion with his wife, Zach wanted to apologize to Ryan. Ryan tried to shrug it off, but Kendall urged him to listen to what Zach had to say—she wanted peace between them. Ryan held out his hand, and Zach smiled as he shook it. Kendall returned and asked, “It’s okay for Spike to come home, right?” YOU’VE MADE ME IMMORTAL Tad, Jamie and J.R. delivered Alexander to the Las Vegas police; after he was read his rights, Alexander laughed at the idea of not being able to afford his own lawyer. When Tad and J.R. said he was finished, Alexander said he’d made fools of them for months—why should he stop now? How long had he held their attention? He’d permanently altered their lives, and they’d made him immortal, “You can never forget me.” Tad said he was insignificant and knew it; that’s what drove him crazy. Alexander looked away, seemingly disturbed, as Tad said he was worthless and might as well not exist. He would never matter to anybody, not even his sole surviving son. YOU HAVE MY WORD Josh listened at the door as Babe worried that J.R. would be furious when she told him she was alive and wanted a divorce, and would break his promises to keep Krystal’s secret. He came in and declared that neither one of them should lose a thing. He heard everything about the baby and who the father is, and they had his word he wouldn’t tell a soul. He protected Babe from the Satin Slayer, and could protect both of them from J.R.’s blackmail. Babe wanted to see her son; Josh agreed to it, and Krystal said she’d work something out. A COLLISION COURSE TO CATASTROPHE Erica thought she should share some news with J.R. first, but Adam said he was out of town. Was there some way he could help her? Erica said yes, she wanted to talk about Babe. When Adam exclaimed that Babe was dead, Erica shrugged, “Not really.” Adam sniffed her breath for booze, and hoped she hadn’t told Krystal that Babe was alive! Erica said Babe's spirit was far too strong to die. Adam was puzzled when she said if his son was sanctifying Babe as much as Josh was, then their sons were on a collision course to catastrophe. She worried J.R. might be possessive, even in death—a dead slut could cause just as much passion as a live one! Erica got a call from Kendall; she was relieved to hear that she was safe. Erica told Adam the point of her visit was to tell him to keep his son away from hers. Adam wondered if this accomplished her little mission, “Which has very little to do with Josh, by the way.” Saying he’d be surprised, Erica left. When Krystal came into the house singing to herself, Adam exclaimed she’d been transformed! He guessed she’d seen Erica; she must know the Satin Slayer had been caught. Krystal thanked God it was finally over! Adam realized she didn’t know that, so why was she so relieved? Krystal said it was just a better day. When she said she wished J.R. loved Babe the way Josh does, Adam asked, “When Josh did love Babe, right?” THE PERFECT PLACE When Ryan told her Spike would be at her place when she got home, Kendall said things could finally be normal again. Kendall and Zach talked about going home; Zach understood Kendall didn’t want to live in the new house, and assured her they’d find the perfect place to live. Ryan smiled and left the house. THE ONLY LIVES WE HAVE As they waited for Jack and Derek to finish the paperwork, Tad, Jamie and J.R. shared some good memories of Dixie. When J.R. sighed their lives were now filled with a lot more holes, Tad nodded, “Maybe, but they're the only lives we have.” YOU COULD STAY DEAD Erica came into the room and said she just heard from Kendall—the Satin Slayer had been caught! She pulled back the covers of Babe’s hospital bed and brightly declared, “Come on, get dressed. I’ll take you home.” Josh insisted that Babe rest, and warned Erica if she said anything to anyone, their relationship was over. Erica left, and Babe worried there was no way she would keep her mouth shut. Josh insisted Erica was under control, and he’d handle J.R. Later, Josh told Babe he might have a solution to her problem, “You could stay dead.” PRACTICALLY PERFECT Julia got a call from Jamie, filling her in and telling her everyone was okay and coming home. When Emma excitedly said her daddy was coming home, Kathy declared her daddy was coming home, too! Julia said she knew she loved Tad and he loved her, too, but Tad wasn’t her daddy, just their friend. After Emma and Kathy left for a special Disney matinee that Ryan had arranged, Julia and Di again asked Annie why she wasn’t dating Ryan. Annie changed the subject, and Julia realized someone should tell Jonathan the killer had been caught. Di asked if anyone knew where Jonathan was? Annie found Jonathan at his sister’s grave; he said he was just telling Erin they caught the Satin Slayer. He thanked Annie for getting him through this as no one else could, and felt that Erin had sent her to him to watch over him. Annie said she couldn’t replace Erin, but she would love to be his honorary sister. When he suggested that maybe she’d just be his sister-in-law, Annie told him not to go there. WHATEVER YOU NEED Krystal told Adam she just wished J.R. could have been half as understanding of that precious girl. Adam said it had been a long day, and wanted Krystal to rest. She agreed to take a nap, and then was going to take Little A to the flower show; she could really use some quality time with her grandson. HOME As Julia offered a toast to being home, Annie and Jonathan came in. Jonathan thanked Aidan, and they shared a hug. At the cemetery, Tad knelt by Dixie’s grave; he reached down to touch the soil. Zach and Kendall found Bianca, Erica and Spike waiting for them at the condo. Zach watched the joyous reunion; Kendall turned to find him gone, “Where’s Zach?” Ryan stunned Annie with a marriage proposal. As Krystal got Little Adam dressed and said they were going to see his mama, J.R. came in.
